Storyline Name: Hassle at the Castle

Plot Summary: While on a vacation in Transylvania, Romania, the girls get stuck in a bad rain storm. Seeking shelter in a castle, they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. Makoto has been bitten by a bat and Rei has mysteriously disappeared. They need to work together to find Rei before something horrible happens, like Makoto becoming a vampire! Can they save their friends in time?

Details on any necessary information: Everyone was enjoying the RP so much that they wanted to continue it on as an RP on the forum, as we were out of time. The RP will pick up directly where the live chat RP left off as a continuous flow.

Ami has two heads of garlic in her purse.

Makoto has been bitten by a bat.

Rei has disappeared down a secret passage way and is wandering around the castle, but to her friends, it is if she has seemingly vanished.

What happened in the Skype RP so Far: The girls were travelling through Romania on a European holiday. Caught in a bad rainstorm in Transylvania, Romania, the girls begin to look for refuge as it is no longer safe to drive. Finally spotting an old castle with lights on, they make their way there. Ami got out of the car to knock on the door, pleading with the man who opened it to allow them to seek refuse in the castle. He agreed, opening the door so they could enter. As the girls huddled in the entrance way, a group of bats that had been sleeping peacefully in the rafters of the castle were rudely woken. Annoyed, they flew down, flying between the girls, and dive bombing them. One managed to climb onto Makoto’s back and bite her in the back of the neck. The butler shows the girls to a hallway that has enough rooms in it for each girl to have their own if they so choose. He told them that dinner would be served at 9pm sharp and not to be late, the master hated tardiness. Tired, Rei went into a room to take a nap. Most of the girls followed Makoto into one room, while she cleaned the bite.

Hearing a scream and a loud thud, they raced into the room that Rei had been in, only to find her gone. The Butler, having heard the scream, came racing in, checking to see if anyone was alright. Scared, and confused. Haruka turned on the butler, demanding to know what he had done with their friend before eventually letting them go. Unable to find where Rei had gone, they checked all the rooms in the floor they were in. Not finding her, they move onto another empty corridor. As they entered, they heard a loud thud coming from the end of the hallway. Making their way towards it, they heard a crashing noise, coming from the room to their left. Investigating, with Makoto in the lead opening the door, they discovered that it was simply a window shutter that had been blow own by the breeze. Laughing at their foolishness, Haruka went to close it. As they were coming down from an adrenaline high, Rei, who was in a secret passage saw the girls in the room. Deciding to play a prank on them, she begins talking to them, acting as a disembodied voice.

“What are you doing here?,” she started shouting, her voice disguised and slightly scary. “Leave this room immediately! Or you’ll be eaten by a monster. Just like your dark-haired friend!” A sardonic laughter followed.

When the voice rang throughout the room, Ami couldn't help but jump. Looking around she desperately attempted to locate the source of the sound. There's no such thing as ghosts, there's no such thing as ghosts the words ran through her mind in an attempt to keep her calm. Slightly scared, she grabbed onto Makoto's arm.

“How can I give her back when I already ate her?," Rei shouted with her disguised voice to her frightened blond friend. Another evil laughter came from her mouth and Rei really wished for spooky background music right now. “Did you guys really think this was a normal house?!”
 
Fortunately, just as she said that, a thunder from the storm outside came up. Perfect timing, she thought.

“No! I never thought this was a normal house, not even for a second! But nobody would even listen to me and now Rei-chan is deaaaaadddddd!” Minako cried in earnest. “And Mako-chan’s turning into a vampire! We’re all going to dieeeeee!”

And then there was thunder. Of course there was thunder.

Minako whimpered, really wishing she was anywhere but this awful horrific place.

"Where are you!? Show yourself!" Haruka was incredibly frightened, she felt as though everyone could see her knees knocking. Rei was eaten? Why didn't she transform? Was there something here that blocked their abilities? 

Wait a minute.

Waaaait a minute.

Why was Haruka so scared again? It's not like it is in the horror movies at all! Haruka grinned, finally remembering their always-ace in the hole. 

"You'd better reveil yourself to us, you beast." Haruka gripped her lip rod tucked away in her breast pocket. "Or you're really going to be in for it."

As Ami grabbed her arm in fear, Makoto stepped in front of her protectively, ignoring her own physical health for the moment. She tried not to panic as lighting cracked and the monster claimed to have already killed Rei. Minako's hysterical yelling wasn't much help either. Haruka's boast did remind her that they had powers of their own, and Mako felt a little bolder. 

"We'll tear this house apart if we have to!" she said. Whatever monster was lurking around wouldn't stand a chance against four senshi.

"I don't think we need to tear apart the house," Ami said. "There's no such thing as ghosts. This has to be a trick of some kind."

Haruka swirled around to face Ami. "Well what do you think it is then, smartypants!" She outstretched her arms, motioning to the walls-where the disembodied voice seemed to be coming from. "We end up in this crappy house with this crappy butler and his crappy bats, Rei is missing and Makoto is sickly and had a nightmare worse then elm street!" Haruka stamped her foot and pulled out her lip rod, lightning flashing from the now-closed window. "It's time to finish this before it gets any worse!"

"Haruka, stop, we can't transform!" Ami whispered yelled. They had to protect their secret identities, was the blonde crazy?

Hotaru felt like she jumped a mile in the air when the disembodied voice began to shout from the walls. She ran behind Michiru, grabbing her arm for support. Then the voice spoke again and Minako began hysterically shouting. 

When the thunder crashed, she let out a short scream.

Then that banging started again. That AWFUL banging, like a migraine pounding louder and louder only it outside of her head! Why wouldn't it stop?? Couldn't anybody stop it?

Even though she enjoyed her friend's anxiety she gradually noticed that it got out of control. Minako was crying, Haruka wanted to fight ‘the monster’ and even Ami didn’t recognize her and was scared. Maybe she should stop it here?
 
But how? If she would reveal herself as Rei and say that she was only kidding…the others, especially Minako, would kill her. But what else could she do?
 
Suddenly, after a few seconds of intense thinking, she got the idea. Quickly she reached for her Crystal Change Rod, lifted it into the air and shouted loudly – for everyone audible – “Mars Crystal Power, Make Up!”
 
In less than a second she switched to her alter ego, Sailor Mars, and prepared for her ultimate play.
 
“You dared to scare everyone away, including my friends, and made them worry. And on top of that you even attacked me,” she started her speech, speaking into an empty floor to make the others think she would fight ‘the monster’ now. “You are a disgrace for the whole world and what you did is unforgivable! In the name of Mars, I’ll chastise you!”
 
Did it ring true? Not entirely sure if her friends would believe it, Mars decided to attack ‘the monster’ to defeat it once and for all. A loud “Mars Flame Sniper!” flew through the empty passage, followed by an arrow-shaped fire congeries.
 
She waited for a few seconds, letting the heat and the fire fade away, until she eventually turned around to the wall in order to crash through and reunite with the others again. “Burning Mandala!”

Secret identity or not, Makoto was very tempted to transform right there and tear a wall down to get to Rei. Ignoring Ami was a rare event, but this house was really putting her on edge. And then she heard Rei's familiar voice as she turned into Sailor Mars, and some of the fear in her gut vanished. 

Rei was alive! And fighting off whatever creature had attacked her! For a moment, she could almost feel the heat as Mars unleashed a Flame Sniper, and then a Burning Mandala. but then there was silence. 

"Is...is she alright?" Makoto asked. Why had she gone quiet? "Rei?" she called.

While she tried to get up after falling through the trap door, Mars really had problems to put herself together. Honestly, what kind of house was she in? And what was with strange butler? Who did he think he was? That he could jerk around with her and her friends just as he liked?
 
Mars would have loved to burn everything down but she couldn’t. In the worst case everything would collapse. Or these guys had even more trap doors and she would fall even deeper. Yes, it was useless, she admitted to herself.
After putting the dirt away from her, Mars decided to just walk down the passage, hoping that there might be an exit at some point. The chance was scant but it was the best idea she had at the moment.

Minako watched as her friends seemed prepared to transform. However, Ami stopped Haruka before she could. Minako held her palms to her ears as the banging from the end of the hallway grew louder, wishing she could just Love Me Chain that thing, whatever it was. Could they really not transform?

Then she heard Rei’s voice—muffled, but unmistakable—transforming somewhere near them. “Rei-chan?” she perked up, and listened to her friend’s brave voice make a speech about punishing someone. She heard Rei’s attack call and felt the warmth of flame from nearby, though she still couldn’t see her. But then everything went silent again.

“Rei-chan?!” Minako called louder, coming close to the wall where she thought she heard the voice. “Oh my god, did she get killed?” She turned to the others. “She already transformed, and probably couldn’t even handle the monster alone. Are we really not going to help?!”

"Are we sure that was even Rei-chan? I mean we didn't see anything. It could all be an elaborate hoax of some sort," Ami said. She had felt the heat, but it didn't look like anything was damaged. 

"Maybe we should move on, try and find another way in?"

At the sound of the disembodied voice, chills ran down Michiru's spine. She had remained quiet throughout most of this trip, preferring to stay behind Haruka and just enjoy the scenery, but now things were starting to get weird. Everything had happened so suddenly, and Michiru was afraid that this vacation may not be as wonderful as she had anticipated.

Taking Haruka's hand, Michiru squeezed it gently so as to calm her lover in some way. The last thing they needed was an all-out battle in the middle of a mansion that these people had graciously permitted them entry. Michiru couldn't help but smile at Ami's comment, happy that her fellow senshi of water was able to maintain a level head.

Michiru was startled by Hotaru, who had suddenly grabbed her arm. Looking down, Michiru smiled reassuringly and pulled Hotaru closer. "Don't worry - it'll all be okay," she said quietly, despite Haruka's shouts on her other side. 

Rei's shouts from behind the wall caught Michiru's attention, and out of instinct she gently pushed Hotaru behind her in case the battle were to bring itself out in the open. But suddenly Rei's voice faded, and there was nothing left. But if there was one thing Michiru knew, it was that maintaining their identities was important. "I agree with Ami. We should take this slowly and not jump to conclusions. Rei can hold her own, I'm sure."

The longer they walked in this old castle, the surer Usagi was that it was indeed haunted. The horrible banging was growing louder by the second, and whatever that thing was, Usagi wished it wouldn’t tear apart the wall and break down the whole castle. She kept her eyes on the direction of the noise and squeezed her transformation compact, readying herself to leap out of the way if necessary.

Then she heard Rei’s voice bravely chastising the source of the noise. They had found her! Usagi felt the familiar warmth of Mars’ flame nearby as she cheered for her friend, but her relief was washed away in an instant. As suddenly as Rei’s voice had appeared, the room went silent again.

“Rei-chan…?” Usagi asked tentatively, hoping to see her friend walk out from the direction her voice had come from. When there was no answer, she raised her voice together with Minako. Her head whipped around, eyes scanning the dark room frantically, hoping to spot the girl among the others. But she wasn’t in the room. Panic was bubbling inside her now, filtering out Ami’s and Michiru’s rational suggestions. Her protest came out louder than intended.

“It was Rei-chan! We can’t just leave her there!”

Haruka was shaking. She had felt the heat from Mars' attack. She was fighting whatever that creature was tooth and nail, and the short burst of hot air had confirmed that. Then suddenly there was nothing. No screams. No growling. Just dead silence.

As Michiru and Ami suggested keeping calm, it was the others that seemed more on Haruka's wavelength. She left her lovers side and walked toward the window-the one they had mistaken for a creature of the night beforehand. She inhaled deeply and shouted:

"REI! IF YOU CAN HEAR ANY OF US, GIVE US A SIGN!"

There was no way she was dead. She was a senshi.

"I'm not suggesting we abandon her, but find an alternative route to get to her. There doesn't appear to be a way to access her from this point and by continuing to remain here and arguing, we're wasting time. What if she's injured and she needs out help?" Ami said, her voice rising slightly, betraying her emotions.

Minako could not believe how calm Ami was about this. Did she not recognize Rei’s voice? Her own best friend? Michiru’s reaction was much less shocking, because she was that kind of person who wasn’t ruffled by anything except maybe Haruka in dire situations, but Minako still felt frustrated about this.

Thankfully, Usagi was, as always, on her side. But neither she nor Haruka could find a way to Rei, either. “I don’t see why we can’t just transform. We’re in freaking Transylvania, no one here would even know who we are.”

The loud banging from the end of the corridor was getting to her nerves. Right now she had become more pissed than scared, having moved through her emotional breakdown phase and switched onto senshi mode. “Alright, already! Whoever’s there better be ready because I’m coming to get you!”

Purposefully she walked toward the source of the sound, intent on finding out what was causing it.

While the group was still debating about Rei, Minako, tired of hearing the banging from the end of the hall, went to investigate. However, before she could reach the room from wence the noise came, she suddenly disappeared, having stepped on a trap door. 

All the group could hear was Minako's screams before it was suddenly cut off by the trap door closing once more, the soft click of the lock sliding into place too soft for anyone, even Haruka to hear. 

@ Minako and Mars. You're both on a level beneath the rest of the group in the secret passage ways of the house. Try and find each other and work to get back to the others. As the RP progresses, you'll receive options of directions to take. For now though, Mars, you would have heard Minako screams and a thud on the same floor as you but you are a corridor or three away xD

"Minako, wait! We shouldn't wander off alone in here..." But Minako was already gone by the time she had finished speaking. Mako frowned. "You'd think that she of all people wouldn't leave the group." She heard a scream, and Makoto's eyes widened as she recognized the owner of it. 

"Minako?" She moved to peek out into the hallway, but Minako was nowhere in sight anymore. "Uh, guys? I can't see her anymore..." Makoto tried to sound steady, but it was hard to be calm now that two people had disappeared. Who was next? 

Her neck stung again, and she absentmindedly scratched it as went back into the room, too focused on what was going on to care. It was hard to concentrate when she was so hungry though... It had been hours since they all ate lunch.

Haruka felt the adrenaline in her bones when she caught up to Makoto. She had heard Minako's rant and saw her run off with Makoto at her heels. She followed them into a room. She couldn't leave Minako alone with her! She could be a vampire!

Suddenly, Minako's scream bounced off the walls; and no sooner then that she had caught up to them. Only Makoto stood there now where they both should have been, rubbing at her bite mark. Haruka's adrenaline pounded in her ears, and hear heart was racing. There could only be one explanation:

Haruka tackled Makoto with all her strength. "What did you do to her!?" She bellowed.

Hotaru felt reassured by Michiru's logic. Surely she would sense through her psychic capabilities if Rei had died. 

She watched from behind Michiru as Minako stormed out and tensed a lot at the sound of her scream. When Haruka confronted Makoto, she closed her eyes and covered her ears to drown out the arguing mixed with that awful banging sound.

One moment she was walking, the next she was falling. Minako shrieked when she fell through the floor, hitting the ground hard. She screamed some more when she realized she was in some dark scary place that was completely creepy—oh my God a vampire was going to appear from the shadows and bite her right then and there! WAS THIS HOW HER BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS LIFE WOULD END? In a tragic dark, damp place under some vampire castle in freaking Translyvania?

Hell no.

Minako didn’t care anymore. There was no one down here anyway. “Venus Crystal Power Make Up!”

She stood in the darkness as Venus now, feeling a tad bit braver. At least now she could whack an incoming vampire who tried to get her pretty neck with her Love-Me Chain. See how much he liked being strangled then.

Usagi nodded, agreeing with Minako’s reasoning. And if Rei had transformed, why shouldn’t they do the same? Usagi raised her brooch, but before she could shout her transformation phrase, her blonde friend stormed out of the room. Hearing Makoto’s words, she turned toward the hallway. “Wait, Minako-chan! Mako-chan’s right, we-“

Her plea was cut off by a scream that made chills run down her spine. Usagi eyes widened in horror when she heard her friend and she ran aside Makoto. “Minako-chan! Minako-chan, answer me!” No matter how loud she called for her, the only answer she got was the echo of her own voice in the empty hallway. She had disappeared - just like Rei. If this went on, they would all soon end up lost somewhere in this castle…

Squeezing her brooch against her chest to keep her hands from shaking so much, Usagi turned back to the others.

“Now she disappeared, too! We have to find them!” she pleaded. It didn’t matter if someone found out she was a senshi. Her friends were in danger, and she would find them no matter what.

Then she heard Haruka accuse Makoto. Shocked by her aggressiveness, Usagi stepped in to defend her friend. “Mako-chan wouldn’t do something like that!” She knew Makoto, knew she wouldn't hurt any of her friends. There had to be another explanation...

That's right!

“Ami-chan?” If anyone could get to the bottom of these disappearances, it was her.

"Does anyone have garlic nearby!?" Haruka was not about to stand by and let everyone get picked off one by one. Last she checked, it was Minako who had a clove or two, but she wasn't here. Suddenly, Usagi stepped in and attempted to stop the fight. Haruka got off of Makoto and placed her hands on Usagi's shoulders roughly.

"Makoto wouldn't harm us, but her killer instincts may override that at any second! We need to know if she's a vampire or not, and we need to know NOW!" Haruka was unaware that she began to shake.

"Now please, Usagi, tell me, do you know of anyone who has any garlic? It's the only way to be sure! For everyone's sake!"

While running down the path, Mars sometimes heard the voices from above, her friends’ voices. She couldn’t hear what they were saying but on the basis of their volume and their stress she was sure they were panicked. Understandable.
 
Annoyed by the whole situation, the red Senshi eventually sat down, taking a break from the whole situation for a while.
How could the people dare to set her up? To set her friends up? Oh, they messed with the wrong person. The moment she would get out of the dark passage, she would burn down this butler and his entourage.
Trapping the Senshi, my ass. Just wait and see for the revenge, old man.
 
As furious as ever, Mars stood up again, determined to find that butler. However, as she wanted to hit the road she suddenly heard a thud, followed by a transformation phrase. Minako?
 
Running into the direction it came from, Mars looked for her friend, wondering what might have happened to her.
“Minako!,” she shouted as she stood in front of the now transformed blond. “What are you doing here?”

Makoto was easily knocked to the floor by Haruka, but she definitely wasn't going to sit there and take the accusation.

"Get off me, I didn't do anything! I don't know where she is either!" She struggled to get out from under Haruka, but she didn't have the strength for it. She relaxed when Usagi stepped in to support her, and Haruka finally let her stand again.

"I don't have any killer instincts..." she grumbled, dusting herself off. She wasn't a stupid vampire...right? And if she was, she wouldn't go after her friends. That was just unthinkable. "We need to focus on finding Rei and Minako."
