| I've lately become very addicted to the Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin. I've so far read the the first book and I'm halfway through A Clash of Kings. It's so addicting it's hard to put it down and I love it so much. I can never wait to find out what horrible fate is going to happen to the characters next and wondering how they're going to make it out. Which characters are your favorite and least favorite and what do you love or hate about the series? |

| Ohmygosh, these books have TAKEN OVER MY LIFE. No joke. I finished the first two books into two weeks and in three days I am just about finished with the third. Sir, you must catch up because I must talk to some one about this! O.o I cannot even remember what happened in book one because so much has happened.
To me, what is so wonderful and frustrating about these books, and what forces me to devour them with such addiction, is that it is like reading five books in one. Each character's POV writes their own story and when the chapter ends in a cliff-hanger (as they are always wont to do) it is not like I can just go to the next chapter to discover what happens. I have to glean through five other chapters, which each usually hang in a cliff-hanger of their own, so I am never left with any rest! My gosh. >_<
I never read this kind of genre. But the writing is so very solid and I am so very picky and I am just shocked and elated to finally find an author who captivates me like he does. I love so many of the characters as well.
In the TV show, Tyrion is my favorite but I think I was won over by the actor who plays him because I do not love him as much as in the books. I do like him very much but not as well. I also adore Arya, I think her book and tv characters are identical. I also love Gendry. I do admit that I like Sandor Glegane, something about his dark horrid nature yet interaction with Sansa tugs at my heart strings. Jamie I did not expect to ever like but gods, I do. I really do like him. Also Samwell, he is just endearing to me, but that is only because of his TV counterpart. I do not think that I would like him all that much if I just read the books. And Bran, dear Bran, I think that he is the star of the books.
I loathe Joffery, the most vile creature ever, and his mother Cersei. There is someone else I also hate but I forgot. Oh yes, Theon Greyjoy. I could very well do without his POV, I do not care for him at all.
I love Robb in the show but unfortunately Martin does not seem to hold the same affection for him and casts him as a side character in the books. :/ I wish we could have had his POV instead of Catelyn's.
I cannot imagine who will survive to the end. Some one has to but I just do not know who. Things just keep escalating and getting worse and worse for everyone. My heart cannot take this. |

| I've only seen the first five episodes of the TV series but I've been very impressed with how accurate it's stayed to the books and the lavish production values it has. It looks almost as good if not better than the latest Blockbuster movies even though it's a TV show yet they still have plenty of time to cover all the subplots accurately. If only Harry Potter got this kind of adaptation treatment. |

| Oh they have done a wonderful job, I feel. A few things have changed but amazingly enough, I feel that every change has been a better choice. The books are wonderful but I actually prefer the changes the TV show has made.
My only complaint about the book is that Robb does not get a POV and becomes a secondary character because of it. I think Robb is one of the best characters in the TV show and I really appreciate that the TV writers decided to give him a main character role. The actor plays him beautifully.
I finished Book 3 today, btw. Too many feels. I think I need a dayoff before I jump into Book 4. Only one more after that!!! What am I to do once I finish the book series and need to wait for Martin to publish book 6?!?!? |

| I liked that they expanded Renly and Loras' storylines and made them gay lovers instead of in the books where their relationship is hinted at but never explored and Renly never seems to have a major role even though everyone keeps talking about him as though he's an important character. |

| Yes! I feel the same way as well about Reny and Loras. I very much liked their relationship. It is hinted in the books and I liked that as well, but I would have liked more of a confirmation though. ^^ I did like though that in the books Renly is present a lot more, making jests and never seeming phased by anyone else. I wish they would have had him present in the king's court in the show as they did in the books.

| I absolutely love this series, and I also devoured the books in quick succession xD I've read all of them and seen both the seasons of the tv series, and gaaah, I crave more <3
The thing that draws me in so much is all of the colorful characters (which sometimes can be overwhelming but its just sooo good that I love it anyway xD). There's such a variety that everyone can find a character to love. I have so many favorites, and I love to hate the ones that I hate that it just makes it so fun to read about all of them.
I love Brienne <3 And Arya, Tyrion, Sansa, Jaime, and Margaery (even if she is not a pov character, I adore the crap out of her, even more so with her tv counterpart. That girl is gorgeous! <3) I also love reading about Cercei, and I think Theron's role in the later parts of the books is just so morbidly interesting. There are probably other characters and things I am forgetting to gush about, but for now I am going to end it there xD
The only thing that bothers me about these books are the constant cliff-hangers. I feel like I have to get into the next chapter's pov since it's usually a big change from the previous one, and then once as I've started to get the feel for it all again... there's a cliff-hanger and now it's a new character, and that new character just starts the whole cycle all over again.
It can be frustrating, but it's just such a fun and good read that I love it xD
I am sorry for all of this rambling ^^;; But I haven't had any place to fangirl over this series before, so now it's all tumbling out in one go haha <3 |

| RAMBLE ALL YOU WANT MY DEAR I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT ANYONE TO TALK TO FOR WEEKS!!! I have read the first four books so if you have any book five spoilers, do alert me first because I do not want to know what happens.I too love Brienne. I absolutely adore her and her interaction with Jamie especially. Her relationship with Jamie in book three helped me care for him as well. Book four spoiler. - Spoiler:
But I have to say, I was shocked at her death in book 4. Literally. Shocked. I know that everyone dies in this series, and no one is safe, especially when a main character like Ned Stark can be killed off in the first book. So I knew that she was going to die at some point even though I hoped against hope. But I genuinely thought that she was going to get further along in her journey, that she was not going to die like that, that she would see Jamie again or that Catelyn's corpse would not be the one to kill her. I was just devastated when that chapter ended. I had to put the book down and take a moment.
So yes, Jamie is a highly favorite character of mine. He isn't so much bad as he is just plain and honest. I love that about him - his honesty. He also does not wail about or dwell on the unfortunate things that occur to him. I also love his actor. Both his tv character and book character fit seamlessly together, which I really like. Cersei, oh dear god, do I loathe her! Reading book four was such torture to me. lol. She is very different in the books than in the show. But she is just as bothersome to me. Margaery -- to win all the awards. I love her. I hope they really use her character a lot in the show as they did in the books. Her interactions with Cersei are priceless. Which book is your favorite? I thought every one was brilliant until I came to book three and I was BLOWN AWAY. I am going to read book five as soon as my brother gives it to me. |

| Nah, no need to buy if my brother can give it to me for free. He lives a few minutes from me and I can always drive over there if he does not bring it by tonight.
And I have graduated, unfortunately. No more school for now while I pay off my graduate loans. >_< |

| No worries, I shall not give away spoilers! xD I had a few things spoiled for me throughout reading (though it was not intentional) and I wouldn't want to accidentally do the same to someone else, so I am very careful about what I say xD
Jaime definitely grew on me throughout the series and he's one of my favorites too xD Cercei isn't a favorite, as such, more that I find her chapters really interesting to read even if I don't like some of the things she does.
I loved all of the books for different reasons, so it is really hard to pinpoint a favorite. I think the very first was my favorite though, simply because it had the most shock factor and it's what originally drew me in to the series to begin with. I admit, though, that I really didn't like the way the (currently) last two books were split up. Having to miss out on some characters throughout a whole book makes me sad. But I still love them so much <3 |

| IT IS SO GOOD, IVY!!!! Have you read all of the books? I must say, the TV show does a really good job in portraying the books. Each have subtle differences but I think they really pair well together. Gosh, I love them so much. I cannot wait for S3!
And a book six. Gyah. I am almost done with book 5 and I am going to be utterly lost with not another book to follow. >_< |

I've read up to book 3 and once I finish my current book, I'm planning on reading the rest. I love the TV series and I, too, think they have done a great job. The sets, costumes and acting is amazing and make it all come to life brilliantly. The Season 2 hanger drove me crazy and I can't wait to see how they handle it in the beginning of Season 3. I didn't know what to do with myself after Season 2 ended and I certainly will be lost too when I finish all the books >_< I've read that the last books in the series are going to take a very long time until completion Gah, I could literally go on and on about the series as a whole! |

| I haven't read the books, I'm all caught up with the tv series. I'd be willing to discuss ANYTHING about the tv series, though I know of some differences between the show and the books. - major spoiler for May 24th's episode premere :
My two faves finally met up. Denarys and Terian. It could not be under worse circumstances, she's gonna treat him like moon turds without realizing that he too is a victim and his family treated him lower then dirt.
Also I LOVED the moment when Cerci got thrown in jail, though now this makes the plot more complicated. It will be reviled that there is no royal blood, and the king will most likely be de-throned/die. Now we're gonna have a bunch of religious zelots protecting the throne from a king who believes in the fire spirit, aka a heaven vs hell battle. It's gonna become all shin megami tensei up in here.
Only with zombies on the horizon, ready to destroy everything.
Here's hoping Terian is able to wind in Denarys, she's been going a little nuts. If he ends up her adviser, the two will become unstoppable.
