Hi my talented artists! And welcome to our first game!

This game is called "The mural" and according to the internet here is the definition of a mural:"a painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall", and we're going to recreate a digital "wall", where anyone can create their art in their own style. So, to make it easy for everyone, this mural will be exactly 500x500px, that way it fits the size of the forum., and 4 people will create the first row of the mural, and 4 people will create the second row which makes 8 people to participate.
Each person will create a 125x250px file with their own creation, but, to make each row look like every picture is a continuation of the last one, from that same 125x250px file you will have to cut the last part of it and create a new 26x250px file so the next person take that file and attach It to their own creation and continue with the game.

Confused? I bet you are, so, here is an example of a very old mural I was doing with my best friend (not finished), our mural was horizontal so it was getting quite large at some point. Here is the original image, and the first part of the mural, this was 450x400px.



So from this very same file, my friend created a smaller one (basically cut it), the size was 100x400px.



I was the next person to continue the mural so i took this smaller part, created a new 400x450px file, paste this new 100x400 px part on the new art, make it look like is a continuation (i did some blending here), and then cut another 100x400 px part so my friend could continue. Here is my part, the only thing missing was the new 100x400 part for her to work.



Is that a little more clear? I hope so! ^.^

And that's it! In our case, to make it less complex I decided to make it as if it was 2 different murals. here is the size of our first mural, take this as reference if needed.


Here are the rules for this game

1. This game is not themed, it means, you can pick any image from any anime you like.
2. Only 8 people will participate (because of the size of the mural).
3. Keep the mural PG13.
4. To hold a spot for you, just post informing that you will continue the next part, that way, people know who is working.
5. If you picked a spot, you have 2 days to complete your part, if by the second day at midnight you don't post your part, you will lose your time and another person can take your spot and you will have to wait for another open spot.
6. You don't need to be an expert to participate, even if you use paint you can be part of the game, just take in consideration that it must be the exact size as stated above for this game.
7. You can use ANY type of resources.
8. It you want to create your part In black & white, you can!.

Omg this sounds so cool and fun! But we're only able to find images as opposed to drawing something of our own?

This game is for digital arts! So no scanner necessary (this is why she said you can even use MS Paint even if you don't have GIMP or Photoshop). I will join in. ^_^

Also I don't see why you couldn't use a drawing and add it in to the mural, that could make it look even more interesting. ^_^

Pixlr is a free online alternative to Photoshop.


Haine, I'd be interested in joining if you will allow drawing in addition to finding images. xD I can't really "graphics" too well.

Okay, so for the bottom left, all I do is take the piece as if I were starting a new mural? I don't need any overlap from the one above, correct?

Also, does it matter how seriously I take my rectangle? If nobody has a preference, I might pick something ridiculous~

I'm not sure about the bottom part...Haine? Also please be ridiculous as you want. xD

Yup, is a whole new thing, it has nothing to do with the upper part, so start with a new image and then create a new part for the next person.
