Appearance: Despite her young age, Hotaru appears very mature and responsible. Her hair reaches the middle of her neck, and is a shade of purple so dark that it appears black. She has gorgeous violet eyes and a pale complexion. Even though Hotaru doesn't wear make-up, she always has a natural blush to her cheeks. Because she is so young, she stands at only 4'10" - one of the smallest of the sailor senshi. She has a healthy, thin figure that looks good in practically any type of clothing. However, when she was possessed by Mistress 9, Hotaru's body was very weak and frail, and she would often have mysterious seizures. When not wearing her Mugen Academy uniform, Hotaru likes to wear dark colors. She has a particular fondness to turtlenecks, casual dresses, and stockings. It is not often that you will find Hotaru in jeans or pants, because she prefers skirts and dresses much more. She also always wears long sleeves to hide the scars she received during a lab accident as a child.
Personality: Hotaru is one of the sweetest girls in Japan. She would never hurt a fly, and she is always putting the needs of others before herself. All her life, she grew up as an outcast without any friends. Because of her natural shyness, she never really understood how to make friends or how to act around them, so she was always alone. This never made Hotaru bitter or cold, however. Whenever she saw someone in need of help, Hotaru would not hesitate to assist. She is pure-hearted and generous, always giving but never expecting anything in return. On the other hand, so does not like to burden others by asking for help. Hotaru is also extremely intelligent. She excels in every subject, achieving all A's with little effort. Her advanced intelligence gives her maturity that exceeds most of her peers. She is very polite to others, which helps her earn respect from her fellow senshi and other adults. Although Hotaru is kind to all, she has boundaries that she does not like to be crossed. If she doesn't like the way she is treated, she can become hostile and cold. Before resulting to that, she often times will try the 'kill them with kindness' approach. She takes her duty as a senshi very seriously, and will always put that duty before everything else, with the exception of those she loves.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Hotaru has a mysterious ability that allows her to heal others. She also has occasional premonitions.

History: During the Silver Millennium, Hotaru was Sailor Saturn, princess of Saturn and bringer of destruction. She served as guardian of her planet, protecting the galaxy from outside threats and waiting for the day when she would have to lower her glaive. That day finally came when Queen Beryl lead her attack against the Moon. After the death of Queen Serenity, Saturn lowered her glaive and destroyed any remnants of the Silver Millennium, sending everyone to be reborn on Earth in the future.
A thousand years later, Hotaru was reborn on to Keiko and Souichi Tomoe. When Hotaru was just a young girl, a lab accident caused the death of both her and her mother. In an attempt to save his daughter's life, Dr. Tomoe made a deal with a demon. This deal involved both Dr. Tomoe being possessed by Germatoid and Hotaru being possessed by Mistress 9. From that point on, Hotaru grew up as a very frail child who didn't have any friends and who was always alone. She had very mysterious medical conditions that made it hard for her to life a normal life. All of this changed when she met Chibiusa, who was the first person to accept Hotaru, flaws and all. As Hotaru's friendship with Chibiusa grew, the outer senshi began to suspect Hotaru as a danger to the world because of her mysterious powers. Their suspicions proved true when Mistress 9 awoke within Hotaru, kidnapping Chibiusa and taking her heart crystal. Hotaru refused to give up, and she fought Mistress 9 from within. Hotaru won, awakening as Sailor Saturn and destroying Mistress 9. After returning Chibiusa's heart crystal to her, Sailor Saturn ventured to defeat Pharaoh 90 by using the full extent of her destructive powers. Sailor Moon, who knew this would end in Hotaru's death, followed Saturn and was able to save her as an infant. Unfortunately, Hotaru's father was already long gone after being possessed by Germatoid. To keep Hotaru from being an orphan, the outer senshi adopted Hotaru as their own and became their own little family within the Tomoe mansion.
Hotaru had no memories of her past or her powers as Sailor Saturn. But as months passed, it became apparent that she was growing at a much faster rate than what was normal for children. Her intelligence levels were off the charts, and she began to have strange premonitions. When the Dead Moon Circus arrived on Earth, Hotaru awoke as Sailor Saturn, regaining all of her memories and powers. After Nehellenia's defeat, Hotaru resumed her normal life with the outer senshi and rebuilt her friendship with Chibiusa.
Other Noteworthy Facts: Hotaru's blood type is AB. She loves the color purple, and she likes to collect lamps and arrange them around her room. Her favorite subject in school is world history.

Storyline Specific Information:
Twisted Nightmares - After the defeat of Pharaoh 90, the inner senshi, Mamoru, and Chibiusa go on a vacation to Europe. While they're gone, Nehellenia makes her debut in Japan, attacking the inners' plane and trapping them in her mirrors. Meanwhile, the outers sense the danger that befell the inner senshi, but find themselves helpless to do anything. Their powers are stripped away, and Hotaru begins to grow at a rapid rate. The awakening of Sailor Saturn combined with the power of the Talismans gives the outers enough power to transform for a limited time. Now it's up to them to save the inners and defeat Nehellenia before it's too late.

Senshi Fuku: Sailor Saturn's fuku is similar to the fuku of the other solar senshi. The leotard is white, with a purple skirt and purple collar. The sleeves are made of a sheer white fabric that is fashioned to have a wing-like shape. Her white gloves are elbow-length with purple trim, and the bows on the front and back of her fuku are a deep maroon. Her lace-up boots are purple, and they reach all the way up to her knees. Her purple choker has a white heart-crystal shaped pendant, and the same pendant is placed in the center of Saturn's front bow. She also has dark purple star-shaped earrings dangling from her ears, along with a golden tiara that has a purple gem in the center.
As Super Sailor Saturn, the pendant on her choker necklace changes to a golden star, and the center of her bow became a purple heart. Her collar gained one white stripe, and her shoulder pads became identical to the rest of the senshi (two white layers, one sheer layer). Additionally, the back bow extends to the back of Saturn's knees.
When Saturn is in her eternal form, her choker necklace becomes v-shaped and has a golden star in the center. Her earrings also become golden stars, and the jewel in the center of her tiara becomes a purple star. The stripe on Saturn's collar turns gold, and her sleeves become lilac and puffy, with purple trim. The bow on her back changes to two dark purple ribbons, and her skirt gains an extra lilac layer.

RP Sample: School had gotten so much better since being reincarnated. Hotaru was free to be a normal girl - someone who didn't have freaky powers and who wasn't having seizures every other day. She was shy, sure, but she was accepted. She had friends. And that was all she had ever wanted.

She could do sports now, too. Gym class was a breeze, and she had even tried doing track in the spring. But after a while, she realized that she hated running and would rather stay at home and swim with Michiru. Of course that didn't sit well with Haruka, who hoped her daughter would become the next track star, but it all blew over with time. What mattered now was that Hotaru was happier than she had ever been. She would never get tired of getting off of the bus to find Setsuna waiting for her, or coming home to a home-cooked meal made by Michiru, or the special outings to the park she would take with Haruka. The love they gave her - the hugs, the kisses - were always the best parts of her day. She finally had the family she always dreamed of.
