Advanced Character Profile
Character Name: Minako Aino
Gender: female
Age and Date of Birth: age 25, 22nd Oct.
Used Canons: Mostly the 90s anime, with bits and pieces of the manga.
Appearance: Minako is a 5-foot-2 (157 cm tall), beautiful young woman with long (as in down past her hips), straight, blonde hair. Because a classmate told her that her hair looked plain when she was age 13, Minako has virtually always accented it with a large red bow at the top-back of her hair ever since then. She also has large, blue eyes. Minako is usually found smiling, but can be (and look) serious when the situation calls for it. She is always wearing up-to-date fashionable clothing, whether it be dresses, skirts, pants, or shorts.
Personality: Minako is usually optimistic and cheerful. For example, she showed these two traits in the (90s) anime episode (in R season) where her four close friends got sick - Minako tried to help each of these four, always believing she could do so, and always cheerfully doing what she believed she could do for them. She can be quite free-spirited in addition to those two traits, like in the (90s) anime episode (in S season) where she was targeted by the heart-snatchers (working for Dr. Tomoe). Minako noticed she was the only one out of the five inner senshi girls who had not been targeted by these heart-snatchers. Despite the other four of these girls (and even Artemis) telling her it was not a pleasant experience that she should want to go through, Minako purposely ran around trying to show that she had a pure heart, even going to extremes (like donating more blood than was recommended for one person in one day). And when the heart-snatchers finally did shoot her heart crystal out of her, Minako was so thrilled that she took it and cheerfully ran away with it. Minako is also quite silly, like when she messes up a cliché, a fairly common trait of hers.
In contrast to her silliness, Minako can look and act seriously, even melancholically, when the situation calls for it, like in the (90s) anime near the beginning of the pair of episodes where Usagi was revealed to be the Moon Princess. Minako was this way as she told the other three senshi girls (at Rei's shrine) that Usagi had gone to the new (at that time) Star Light Tower, and as she was leaving, resolving to go after Usagi there. So Minako can also be a good leader. She also looks for and enjoys the fun in life, being like Usagi in that way. On the other hand, when Minako sets her mind to accomplish a particular task, she becomes determined to succeed in it. An example is in the (90s) anime, specifically Sailor Stars season, where she tries many different plans to become an idol, until she is finally satisfied that she has succeeded. Also, when she meets someone famous that she likes, Minako often turns into a fan-girl. In addition, like the other inner senshi girls, she is devoted to her close friends and will do anything she can to help them. Finally, even though Danburite, her leading enemy when she was Sailor V, said that he cursed her to never know true (two-way, as opposed to unrequited) love, and so far that curse has held true, Minako likes to help other people overcome their love problems.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Minako is a great singer, and she has great performance skills in front of strangers. She is also great at most athletic skills; in fact, she was competitive on a volleyball team until junior high, when she had to quit purely due to time commitments even though she was still good enough to compete.
History: When she was age 13, a talking white cat informed Minako that she was a sailor senshi. This cat, Artemis, guided her through the new duty she now held. Artemis told her that as Sailor V, her main goal would be to thwart the plans of the Dark Agency (led by Danburite) to gather energy. He also told her a sub-goal would be to provide a distraction for the Dark Kingdom (which the Dark Agency was a sub-group of) so they wouldn't attack the other senshi or the Moon princess.
A year later, she met these other senshi and became Sailor Venus. Together, these senshi soon found out who the Moon Princess was (Usagi/Sailor Moon). They fought and defeated the Dark Kingdom. In subsequent years, they did the same against a few other later teams of villains, ending with Galaxia and the Sailor Animates when Minako was 16.

After they had healed Galaxia, since their senshi roles weren't needed for the next several years, Minako and the other senshi girls, who had grown together very strongly and very tight during those few years of fighting villains together, were able to pursue their career goals and other dreams. Minako got an audition with a major music producing company, and by performing very well in that, was given a contract. That company is now grooming her to be a big J-Pop icon, and she is on her way to J-Pop icon status, which would achieve Minako's # 1 dream. Meanwhile, she has kept in close contact with the other senshi girls, and has remained best friends with them.
Then, nine years after the Animates were defeated with the healing of Galaxia, another villain came out of the woodwork. Selena, who was the sister of the original Queen Serenity, attacked the Gates of Time while Sailor Pluto was temporarily away. Selena was able to time-travel into the pasts of each of the sailor senshi, and, with her knowledge of magic and the dark arts, even alter the DNA of each senshi girl to give each one a different mental illness. As a result of this, Minako is now cursed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and even her memories were altered to make Minako believe she has had this mental illness her whole life.
Having Selene's curse on her changed Minako's life in multiple ways, in that it has made her less confident in many different things she does regularly. For example, she has become more hesitant to send out her attacks in her senshi form, which in turn have required the other senshi to adapt by encouraging her to try her best with her attacks nonetheless. As another example, Minako has become less sure of her singing skills. Her producer has had to adapt to this, giving her reinforcing pep talks fairly often, urging her to just try her best with singing, for example that it's better than not trying. Minako even forced the cancellation of one of her small concerts by refusing to go out on stage that evening, when she was so sure she would embarrass herself out there that even her manager's pep talk didn't work.
To Boldly Go … : (more History)
After they had healed Galaxia, a new enemy appeared to threaten mankind - in space. NASA discovered it, but even with the rest of the government, this agency couldn’t figure out why it’s there or even what it is. Since the inner senshi had become famous worldwide, NASA summoned them to Cape Canaveral, FL, United States, to meet with some scientists there and discuss the situation regarding this new enemy. Soon, these senshi will need to pilot a spacecraft and make contact with and/or eliminate this new enemy. Minako will be the Relations Officer of this spacecraft.

RP Sample: Minako was in a recording studio with her voice coach, working on her singing skills. Yes, Minako was already quite good at singing; but there's always room for improvement, ne? They were practicing various songs that other singers had popularized - especially ones with tricky note patterns - when Minako's communicator watch beeped, signalling a senshi call for her. She quickly told her voice coach "Excuse me, but there's an emergency I need to attend to - now. I'll be back as soon as I can." Without waiting for an answer, Minako then hurried out of the recording studio, leaving her voice coach stunned.
When she figured she was a safe distance away from that recording studio and any other passers-by, Minako pushed the button on her communicator to play the message. She instantly recognized Sailor Moon on the small screen of the communicator. Moon said emphatically "I just noticed a stray youma at Hikawa Shrine! Come quick!" And then the message ended and the mini-screen went blank again.
Minako ran quickly to Rei's shrine, stopping only quickly in a vacant side-alley to transform. As Venus ran up the long staircase that was its entrance, she ran slower and slower, until at the top she was panting heavily. But this was no time for Venus to catch her breath, for a youma suddenly came out of one of the buildings on the shrine grounds and started running toward her. Acting quickly, she called out "Venus Love-Me Chain!" and sent her chain attack directly at the youma. Soon, it was wrapping around the youma, holding it in place, just like Venus had intended. Then Sailor Moon came out of the same building. Venus called out "Now, Sailor Moon!", indicating it was time for her to act.
