so i use manga studio debut 4. i'm mostly happy with it, aside from the fact i kinda lack in custom brushes! and this program lacks the ability to make custom brushes...-_- not ready to upgrade to version 5. nor do i have the money.

so i was wondering of someone could help me, and make me custom brushes with the planetary symbols? you know, crescent moon, black moon, inners and outers. or if someone has any idea how to convert brushes and such for one program like photoshop and turn them into the proper files for manga studio use.

I thought you could make them? By 
1) Make a pattern of your own choosing. This can be whatever you want, but if you're looking to create, say, an oil brush, you'll need to create a more well-defined pattern. This can be a series of dots that represent the bristles of the brush.
2) Use the lasso or marquee tool, and select the pattern.
3) From the Edit menu, select Save Pattern to Brush Material.
4) In the Material Name text box, enter the name of your new brush
5) Select the Color Mode from the Color Mode dropdown box.
6) Leave Create New Tool Option Settings From Brush Material checkbox selected.
7) Click Ok.
Is that just in 5?

that's what i said in my first post starry. XD it is only in manga studio 5, though i seem to be able to use the custom brushes made in 5. i just really can't upgrade now and kinda don't want to. all i can do is make tone material in Debut 4. hence why i need heeelp

it's been a while so i'm bumping this, because i would really love some symbol brushes! be great for backgrounds.

what file do they need to be to import correctly? i have a set i made a while back that i can try and export for you if i know the file type.

uhhh...the custom brushes i'm looking at have extensions like ITP, TPF, BRP. does that help...?

I have a couple of the crescent brushes that I'll give you, i think they are all solid thought but there's an outline brush and the planet symbols i'd have to check to make sure are solid.

excellent! yeah because i do have a lot of things i hope to do...like use the crescents for dresses, facial marks, backgrounds...so even if it's a black and white outline i have to fill in myself with color will work! but it would be nice if they were solid at the start, so if i need them transparent, i can do it myself with the layer. god i'm going technical i'm gonna shut up....^^0

waaah it didn't work...T_T it just made a blank space on my list of brushes, with a blob of just a big black dot. i tried multiple times...thank you though ed...T_T wish i knew why it didn't work..
