A priceless heirloom has been stolen from the Hammer Price Shrine, and it's up to Tubby Mask to bring the thief to justice and secure the precious Golden Crystal Falcon! Minako, while out shopping, spies Tubby Mask in action and decides to tag along (and make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble...) as her alter ego, Sailor V!

Set the scene and begin! ((Btw Hime, you can choose she transform as her usual Sailor Venus if you'd like!))

Artemis was the first one to inform her, not Rei, about the stolen artifact. She had just gotten done with her homework when the news arrived. At first, Minako just laughed it off.She figured Artemis was on catnip. Only when she went to turn on her television to watch the hottest idol perform did she take it seriously. Minako was always one to browse the news channels in the evening-a habit she maintained form her Sailor V days, and she had left the TV on that channel before she slept. Once the remote clicked-she was greeted with multiple people-one of them Makoto Hanmatsuura-talking about the theft. It had occurred at night, anywhere between 8pm-8am, the opening and closing hours. 

The more Minako watched the coverage, the more an age old itch overcame her. Back in her days of Sailor V, she was always solving cases like these while working with the police. She had forgotten how fun it could be-working solo to catch a simple criminal. Compared to other forces she has fought, a simple crook would be a piece of cake. 

Artemis must have noticed the glimmer in her eye as she was getting dressed that morning. 

"You're going to check the place out, aren't you?" Artemis eyes lowered. "Shouldn't you tell the others?"

"Them? Nahhhh." Minako snorted as she put in some cute hoop earnings. "It's just a simple theft, art. Remember how many of these I did back in the day?"

"Simple theft nothing!" Artemis smacked his paw on the mattress. "The enemy could be after this artifact! It may contain some signifcance to their evil plans!"

"Psssh. I know that." Minako waved it off. "Which is why I'm just going to the place as your typical run-of-the-mill shopaholic. I'll gather info about the falcon from there from the owner-using my girlish charm, of course!" Minako winked cutely in the mirror. She was really working today's outfit!

Artemis sighed. "Alright Minako, you win. But come right back with the results of your investigation! We don't know-"

"-If the enemy is responsible for this blah blah blah the others need to be informed meh meh meh geez Artemis, I get it." Minako mocked, flapping her palm open and shut mimicking speech. "If I find anything other then your typical burglary, I'll inform the others. But right now, Minako's got some shopping to do!"
 
Before Artemis could get another word in, she had grabbed her purse and was out the door. The Hammer Price shrine was an independently owned store-and a fairly small one at that. Regardless, the items inside were always of high quality and breathtaking outfits. Minako walked in through the glass double doors and checked her wallet. She had just gotten her allowance the other day. Hey, there was nothing wrong with shopping while on the case, right?

Hanmatsuura Makoto. Birthday October 27th. Blood Type B. Hobby: Embroidery He's the 18th generation owner of the Hammer Price Shrine Pawn Shop. But today he is...

Tubby Mask!

Standing idly by the cash register, Tubby Mask was in full costume. He was so obviously Makoto in disguise, but many of the young and beautiful women doted on him as though he were the stunning and magnificent knight he was a parody of.

To Minako's left, she would see a rather gaudy mannequin modeling what appeared to be a risque version of her Sailor V costume. There was Sailor Moon memorabilia all around the store, including but not limited to plushies, kitchen wear and posters.

Tubby Mask let out a short, sad sigh. It seemed he wasn't doing too good emotionally.

Minako gazed at the Sailor V costume. It was actually done pretty well! It tackled every single detail! 

"Guess I got too many photographs taken." Minako mumbled as she walked around to examine the backside of the costume. The back of the costume was spot-on as well. "Yep, defiantly too many photographs taken." 

Well, the paparazzi did follow her around. How many photographs of her ass were in the newspaper anyways? Who knows how many of them were lechers. Besides, you can't do this good of a job on a costume without a reference-or, many references, in the case of her Sailor V costume. 

Minako took note of the price tag. Yikes! She could never afford that even with a year of allowance! Instead, she took a look at the costume's mask. Unlike her real one, this was embroidered with a shimmering golden thread, and ruby red sequins were decorating the entire front side. Minako was both full of awe and disappointed. It's sad when a home-made cosplay is better then the real thing! She took a look at the price tag, she could actually afford it! She slowly removed it off the head of the maniquin and got her money out ahead of time-there was quite the line at the cash register. Minako could already hear Artemis yelling at her with this purchase, but why wouldn't she want to own a well made piece of memorabilia biased on, well, herself! Especially if it was better then the real deal!

The line seemed to dissipate quicker the minute she was ready to check out. Within a few minutes, she reached the cash register. Minako placed the mask and the money on the counter-and took note of the middle aged man dressed as Tuxedo Mask. She giggled to herself-while the costume wasn't flattering, it was slightly uplifting to see someone as old as him dress up as a hero to boost self-confidence. The notion was kind of cute, actually-though Minako doubted Mamoru would think the same.

"I'd like to buy this, please." Minako said, not being able to hide her wide grin. The Tuxedo Mask outfit was hand made as well. This store's admiration of the Sailor Senshi was too adorable for words!

Tubby Mask slowly looked down at the mask that was placed on the counter before him. He slowly took the mask, checked the price and then started plugging away into his cash register. Tears flowed his face like waterfalls. They crashed onto the floor, making a very large puddle around him.

"Oh, dear sweet customer," he blubbered through his sadness. "Usually one with such beauty and taste as yours could fill my day with infinite joy, but alas, the store's precious Golden Falcon has been stolen. Long has it rested atop this establishment's sign, but now it is gone and I can only stand vigilantly in place of its owner, hoping that the perpetrator comes back. All of his dreams have come true, you see, but they mean nothing without that Golden Falcon."

It seemed Tubby Mask knew the owner very well, but that was something Minako would obviously know.

"I'm so sorry. I wish I could smile for you, especially in the light of your great purchase."

This poor guy crying broke Minako's heart. He was truly upset about the burglary. She could practically hear his heart shattering as she placed her item in the bag. 

"Did the cops find any leads yet?" She asked in some attempt to get the poor guy to stop crying. As she tried to small talk her way out of his tears, Minako's mind was made up. She could never forgive someone who made such a sweet heart cry! 

She would come back in the middle of the night to investigate herself-she had forgotten how useless cops could be when it came down to it. At least she knew where the golden falcon was located beforehand. Minako would examine the roof during the wee early hours to see if there was anything left behind. 

OOC:

"Nothing as of yet," Tubby Mask responded through his tears. "Thank you for your concern, dear customer. Hopefully my precious heirloom is returned so that the ghosts of my ancestors do not haunt me in my dreams."

He threw in an adorable postcard featuring a chibi version of Uranus and Neptune posing together cutely in the bag.

Later that night, the shop owner turned temporary super hero fell asleep at his register. He tried vigilantly to stay awake, but his work got the best of him.

Despite Artemis's complaints, Minako decided to tackle this one solo. She didn't sense any external forces. She had grabbed her pen and transformed into Sailor V-just for old times sake. It felt kind of nice to be in that old fuku. Leaping from building to building felt nice as well-she had forgotten just how freeing it was. It didn't take long until she was on top of the Hammer Price Shrine. 

She took note of the lack of disturbance. There were no footprints, no roof or tile damage and the sigh where the Golden Falcon had been perched on was still there. It must have been a real pain to remove the Golden Falcon without it, Minako thought. That thing was huge? How would you carry it in the middle of the night without being seen, or falling due to the weight of the object? You would at least expect that someone would fall in through the roof with the combined weight of the falcon. Either way, there was more then one person involved in this robbery. This was not something that a lone thief could pull off.

A dark shadow approached Sailor V quietly. It suddenly tripped over itself though, ending its mission to cooly sneak up on the soldier of justice in nearly zero seconds flat.

Tubby Mask stood up quickly and wobbled a bit as he regained his balance. He pointed a rose at Sailor V with a steel attitude.

"So you've returned, thief! I won't let you take any more of my heirlooms! Your reign ends today! Tubby la Smoking Bomber!"

The small man opened up his cape and unleashed a net with weights. It wasn't magical at all. It was just a simple net made for capturing. It seemed as though he didn't recognize who Sailor V was in the darkness of the night.

OOC:

The net didn't fly too far, however. Being weighed down didn't make it very aerodynamic. When it should have reached her, it just landed with a clank and just barely reached her ankles. Sailor V couldn't help but laugh to herself-between this and how the poor dude tripped over himself in the night, it was just too pathetic.

"Halt, good citizen." She retorted-trying to sound authoritative. "I am no thief. I am the pretty guardian in a sailor suit"-she thrust her hand in front of her for dramatic effect-"Sailor V!"

As she pointed her finger, her speech finished-she turned and saw her would-be opponent. It was nothing more then the owner from the store that she met earlier that day-still in his cosplay. As if she didn't already notice his identity before she turned around-his voice was very impressionable. 

"What are you doing here? Are you trying to thwart my attempts to solve this crime?" Sailor V shouted. "Or are you-perhaps-" It seems that little clumsy men in cosplay brought out the bully in Minako. She just couldn't resist teasing him. "The perpetrator, returning to the scene of the crime!?"

"SAILOR V!"

Tubby Mask's, well, mask fell slightly in his shock. He quickly readjusted himself and posed in a cute manner with his hands on his hips.

"I mean, of course you're Sailor V! That's why you able to dodge my stunning attack! To think I am standing in the midst of the greatest crime stopper! With our combined powers, we could return my- I mean, this store's glorious Golden Falcon! You don't really think that I, Tubby Mask, would steal the Golden Falcon?"

Tears began to swell up in his eyes again. It seemed he wasn't afraid of Sailor V, so much that he really admired her.

"Really?"

Okay-now Sailor V felt like the biggest jerk. She didn't mean to make the guy cry! She spoke quick and chose her words carefully just to stop those big ghibli tears from streaming down his cheeks.

"Sorry, sir. My mistake. It seems you, too, are in pursuit of the culprit." Sailor V gave a hearty laugh. "How dumb we must look! We both mistook one-another for the thieves!" 

She hoped that was enough to earn back his motivation. She never knew she could push a fan to tears with a joke. 

"Now then-seeing as you've started this investigation before me-what news do you have? Have you tailed them long? Do you know how many?"

Tubby Mask's eyes sparkled when Sailor V confirmed she didn't actually think that he was the criminal. He stood at her side and peered gloriously into the still night.

"Well, I do know one thing about the culprit..."

He held his pointer finger up high.

"They stole the Golden Falcon!"

It appeared he knew nothing at all, but he kept talking anyway as he started to pace about on the roof.

"The shop owner said that he was asleep the night it was stolen. From what he understands, there was no indictation of any sound or disturbance. Then, the next day, the Golden Falcon was gone! Who could have done such a thing?"

"Hmmm, how odd." Sailor V mumbled to herself. "Are there any security cameras? Did they catch anything?"

Sailor V was actually really impressed with the little guy. Not only was he a business owner, he seemed to give no thought to his own safety in terms of trying to solve the crime that took place himself. It was rather endearing-though who knows what would happen to him if he ran into the thieves. if his combat skills were as good as net-throwing, he was as good as dead.

So Sailor V came up with the best idea. Since there was no way for this passionate fan to leave the investigating to the real heroes...

"Would you like to team up with me, oh masked hero?" Sailor V asked gracefully. "With so little to go on, I could use some help."

"Security cameras?" Tubby Mask asked. "Well, this establishment does have security cameras, but none were centered on the beloved Golden Falcon. The shop owner didn't think such a theft was possibly, you see."

At the proposition of teaming up, the masked man's eyes burned brightly. They shimmered through the open holes of the mask as he pressed his round hands to the bottom of his face.

"Oh! I would so love to join forces, Sailor V! It is an honor to fight beside you! You have nothing to fear now that Tubby Mask is beside you!"

Tubby mask? Ok that settled it. This man was absolutely adorable. Sailor V took a mental note to remember the shop owners name so she could ask him out for coffee or tea sometime, or ask if he needed any extra volunteers around the shop once they solved this crime. It would be very uncouth of her if she were to let such a sweet and loyal fan down, after all!

"Alright, Tubby Mask!" Sailor V beamed with pride. "I have a plan, but it might take some convincing on the shop owner's part in order for it to work."

Of course, that wouldn't be a problem.

Sailor V began to explain her plan. "First we'd need him to either remove the security cameras from the inside of the shop and place them on the roof-either that or buy additional video cameras. Also, you seem to know the shop owner pretty well, does he have anything large and of value to use as bait?"

"What my plan is we use something else over the top of the shop and have the shop owner claim that he doesn't care about the golden falcon and that the missing piece was actually a positive change for his shop. No doubt these thieves stole it to make a quick buck, so he should emphasize that the golden falcon has no monetary value whatsoever, in comparison to this new object he decides to put on the sign in it's place."

"You, Tubby Mask, get the shopkeeper to relinquish a large and valuable object to use as the new and "hip" logo for the Osa-P. Also make sure the shopkeeper does all of this in front of the press-the grand unveiling of the new and expensive symbol!"

"That's when..." Sailor V opened her palm and smacked her fist into it. "We nab em. Between the two of us and the additional security cameras on the roof, it's like dangling a piece of prime steak in front of a dog. They won't be able to resist a second heist!"

When all was said and done, Sailor V found herself nodding with satisfaction. Her plan was foolproof. Hook, line and sinker.

Tubby Mask placed his round hand to his chin. He pointed upward in delight.

"Yes! I will inform the shop owner immediately! This sounds like an incredible plan! My... I mean, his Golden Falcon will be returned!"

The next day, as Sailor V suggested, a press conference was held to commerate the "new and improved" Golden Falcon. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly what Minako might have wanted. From a distance, it looked glorious, but on closer inspection it was just a huge cardboard replica painted with gold and crocheted gold yarn.

Hanmatsuura Makoto stood nervously as he answered questions. Sweat poured down his face as he looked nervously left and right at the security cameras. Would this plan work?

Later that same evening, Sailor V stood atop the building across directly across the Osa-P. Of course, she hadn't expected Makoto to knit his own replica! While it was believable on TV, Imagine her surprise when she came to make sure the camera's were in working order that she found out it was knit! She at least expected him to put up some maniquin with one of his expensive dresses or some priceless statue or something! Luckily, nobody would notice the odd quality until they were close enough to, well, steal it. Then there were the additional security cameras. He had actually bought them instead of just moving some, which would help prevent more theft in the future. There was still a high chance that this plan would work. 

Sailor V tapped her foot impatiently. Where was he? She had slipped an anonymous note in his mailbox saying for him to meet her in front of the building across the street. He was running late. Then again, she thought, he might be exhausted from knitting an entire replica in less then twelve hours. That man had some mad sewing and knitting skills. Weather or not he showed up was not an issue, it was the top of the Osa-P V was focused on. The minute she would spot movement,she would strike.

Suddenly, she saw shadows running about below. Sailor V watched with surprise as four unidentifiable figures scrambled from behind the building next to the OSA-P and smashed the windows in! This was bad. Was Makoto still inside!? He could be in immediate danger!

Sailor V leapt from the building and landed with an echoing "tap" on the sidewalk, and sprinted through the broken window. The first sound Sailor V was met with was the sound of breaking and shattering appliances and glass. Though dark, she could still make out the glimmer of metal baseball bats being swung about, smashing and breaking every display in their paths. This was unbelievable! First a theft, now full blown vandalism!?

"HALT!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. This was the worst! Were these the thieves from the other night? Were they able to notice the difference and decided to take their anger out on the shop? Sailor V quickly realized she had to save the questions for later-a baseball bat was heading right towards her!

With a swift roundhouse kick, she parried the sporting equipment right out of the assailants' hands. Even quicker, she shoved her already-raised heel into his gut, causing a grunt to emerge as the man fell into a rack of fine-stitched skirts. She heard swearing behind her, and swirled around, her fists up and her guard ready. There were three additional men, all sporting various weapons out of sporting equipment. One charged her front and raised his bat high above his head-which she caught in her left arm while thrusting a powerful right-hook into his stomach. As the second assailant fell, the third one hollered a battle cry and ran at her from the side. Sailor V snickered. They really shouldn't have chosen aluminium bats-the way the streetlight reflected off of them easily gave away their positions in this pitch-black shop. 

"Venus love me chain!" She cried as the golden-beaded whip streamed endlessly from her fingertips. The man tried to outrun the lash, but she was quicker. The love chain had him entangled in an instant, the bat falling from his arms. The man lowered his head and swore at his predicament. 

"Who are you? Where is the shop owner?" Sailor V demanded. When he didn't respond, she yanked on the chain so it not only tightened, but dragged him closer to her. 

"Where. Is. The. Shop. Owner." She repeated sternly, her face close enough to smell the tobacco on his breath. No wonder tubby mask never showed up! Who knows what these guys did to him!

"Well, wouldn't you like to know, missy?" The man responded curtly, a smile curling across his lips. What was he so happy about? She had him in her grasp!

"Missy? Do you really want to ignite the wrath of Sailor V?" Her eyes narrowed, and both hands clutched the chain. "You're the one's responsible for the theft, aren't you! What have you done with the shop owner?" 

She just happened to look down out of sheer luck. She saw a shadow, raising a long and cylindrical object right over her head! The one she kicked! He was never unconscious! With a cry, she lashed her chain behind her-flicking the bat right out of his hand. However, this left the man in front free of her restraints, and he took that opportunity to shove her aside. While Sailor V was trying to maintain her balance, the other grabbed the bat again and swung-hard. Sailor V saw stars as the bat connected with the side of her head and everything suddenly went sideways as she fell to the floor. 

Ears ringing, Sailor V tried to stand up. Once she was on her feet, one of them kicked her back down. This was bad. What was she supposed to do? Sure, she was a senshi, but these were normal humans! She didn't want to kill them!

"Makoto...Tubby Mask..." She mumbled. "Where are you?"

"Sailor V..."

A feeble voice called out into the darkness. It was unmistakenably the man she was searching for. A creak echoed quietly as a cabinet door swung open. Squeezed tightly inside the hand painted, restored furniture was Makoto himself, dressed in his Tubby Mask costume. He shook so bad that the furniture began to shake with him inside.

"I am so sorry. I went to greet you at the top of the roof when someone broke the windows in. My courage failed me and I hid but I will not fail again!"

He popped out of the furniture like a balloon that had been caught in a tight space. He posed coolly and pointed a violet rose toward Sailor V.

"Lead us to the criminals, my lady! They shall know justice tonight!"

Sailor V accepted the violet rose. She breathed a sigh of relief. So he was alright! He was just hiding!  

"Thank goodness." She whispered as she rose to her feet, caressing her head. Thankfully, her injuries weren't as severe as she had first thought. "You are right, Tubby mask. They shall indeed know justice! Prepare your arms, they won't get away a second time!"

"You sure she won't be bothering us?" A voice grunted out in the darkness.

"Her? Little miss wonder-woman of yesteryear?" Another voice snickered. "We got her good. So much for champion of justice."

While Sailor V was unconscious, the four thugs had gone for their main objective-the roof. They heard the news, if that old falcon was worth nothing, think of how much money this new one would rake in! Unlike the last time, however, security was tightened. While some had objected to the idea of a direct break in-the leader had proposed an idea. Considering they already stole the first falcon and had it safely hidden, that along with this new falcon would rake in enough dough to pay their bail. Why not a direct assault? It's not like that wimp of a store owner was going to raise much of an objection. 

What the group didn't expect was Sailor V's interference. How did she know that they were coming? Well, it didn't matter anyways. The four of them beat her fairly easily-guess her lack of action made her skills rusty. It was their lucky day in more reasons then one!

While one guarded the door, the rest went to examine their new and glorious prize. With one on each side and one in the middle, they lifted the newer falcon on the count of three. They were quite surprised with how light it was-the last one took all four of them to lift. Suddenly, one of the men lost footing and let go of their end. The other two braced for the impact that their feet would surly take, when they realized that they were still holding onto it. Something was not right with how light this thing was. Come to think of it, why did it feel so fuzzy and soft? The leader of them pulled out a flashlight to inspect their prize closer only to find...

"It's a fake! It's nothing more then an overgrown quilt!" He spat in disgust. The other three surrounded the falcon, hoping that their leader was lying.

Behind the door to the roof, Sailor V motioned for Tubby Mask to stay silent. She couldn't help but laugh-they weren't exactly being silent when voicing their disappointment. She listened in the dark and made out one, two three-four voices expressing their displeasure in the distance! Yes! That meant the door wasn't being guarded! All it took was a swift kick and the door opened loudly, and the two of them were met with four startled pairs of eyes.

"Indeed it was, cowards!" Sailor V beamed. "You fell right into our trap!"

"Sailor V!" The four all exclaimed in unison, and began to babble anxiously amongst themselves.

"I thought you said she was unconscious?"

"She was! She was! I checked her myself"

"Wait, who's the other one?"

 "You didn't count on me having a partner in this, did you?" Sailor V wagged her finger at them in a mocking gesture.

"Now's our chance, Tubby Mask! Venus love-me chain!"

"It certainly wasn't a fake! It was merely a replica, meant to distract you!"

Tubby Mask jumped into the scene, posing next to Sailor V as though he were truly the masked superhero he believed himself to be. He would defeat these foes today and his dream could continue as the proud owner of the Osa-P!

"Tubby la Smoking Bomber!" he shouted.

He threw our four nets from the shadow of his cape. Hopefully the combination of their attacks would subdue the robbers without hurting them.

The men ran in all different directions, clumsily bumping into one another and eventually falling amongst themselves as though they were drunk. The darkness of the rooftop must have hidden their injuries.Apparently the beating that Sailor V delivered was a lot rougher then she intended, their balance was all odd with all their staggering in terms of balance, and some were favoring their limbs. It occurred to Sailor V that, even if they didn't capture them here, they were in no shape to leave the rooftop, especially with the prop falcon in tow.

Needless to say, they were captured by the dual attacks easily. Once Sailor V's chain had them all wrapped up, the nets weighed them down. Seeing their weakened attempts to struggle, Sailor V couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. She really didn't mean to beat them up that hard. She actually wanted to scare them off by overpowering them-she never surmised that they would attempt to stand up to her. 

Well, regardless of what came out of it, the case was solved. With her chain still in tow, she turned to Tubby Mask with a grin on her face.

"We've done it! Now, while I stay here and make sure they don't run off, can you call the cops? They're going to want to hear what they did to the shop, and while I myself don't have the best interrogation techniques to find where the true falcon is, they sure do!"

"Will do, Sailor V!"

Tubby Mask was beaming with happiness. Not only did he fight alongside Sailor V gloriously, but the Golden Falcon would return to the Osa-P! He was starting to think that having it stolen was more advantageous. The Osa-P had a great amount of new PR! And he got to personally meet Sailor V!

He waddled away and went downstairs to go to the shop's phone with his back turned toward Sailor V.

"I can't believe we did it," he said happily to himself as the other end of the phone began to ring.

Within minutes the cops arrived. The interrogation didn't even need to wait until they were transported to the police station. The group of them began blubbering like infants-the combination of Sailor V and Tubby Mask proved to work well. Their morale was broken, and their nerves were gone once the police got there. Right there, In front of news cameras and without lawyers, the sobbing thieves admitted to the theft of the Golden Falcon and that it was in the warehouse district, and provided the information to the correct storage unit. Admitting to theft in front of cameras? The media would eat this up! Minako would be seeing the footage on TV, online and in newspapers for weeks!

After taking a few candid shots of Sailor V and Tubby Mask, announcing brilliantly the teamwork of these two masked superheroes, the swarm of vehicles drove away, thieves in tow. Sailor V turned to tubby mask, a grin plastered onto her face.

"Don't worry too much about the paparazzi." She chuckled. "I haven't been in action for a while, and always worked solo-as you already know. Our faces are gonna be in the paper for quite some time."
 
Sailor V knew she had to do something for Makoto for helping her. Who've thought that she'd need help, or that he would be such great backup? 

"Ya know, if you don't mind the cameras and all, do you wanna refresh after this fight with a cup of coffee or something? I know I could use it."

OOC:

Tubby Mask adored being in the spotlight of the media alongside Sailor V. He posed gloriously, flailing his cape about for the camera. Minako would have a lot to explain to Mamoru.

The man's eyes beamed when Sailor V asked him to coffee. Thoughts ran through his head of how much sugar or cream the warrior preferred in her coffee. Maybe she liked it black. 

"Of course! I don't suppose any coffee shops would be open at this hour. Why don't you come back to my... I mean, the owner of the Osa-P's shop. He's a good friend of mine, you know. I think I can count you as one too."

It was one of the happiest nights of his life.
