Man, bandai really IS pushing this merch stuff...

In the beginning I was like "WANT WANT WANT" to like 90% of the stuff they announced, now I'm like "Uhhh.... WHY? WHY? WHY?"

Like, cmon... 

Definitely would not get this phone, even if it was $20. I don't even find it that cute. 


Now, stuff like more quality figures, and reasonably priced jewelry, a jewelry box, stuffies, etc I can get behind. But I guess they've already milked all the 'normal' merchandise.

People can buy what they want. Just because we think it's not worth it, doesn't mean we have to complain lol. Yeah they're overpriced, but as long as people will still buy them, these things will keep appearing. Just ignore them and you don't have to waste your own money if you don't want to. They're not hurting anyone, not even those who deem them worthy to buy because they know what they're getting into.

This is also true. Personally I'm a bit fan of Tangled and Rapunzel but don't like most of the figures made for the movie. Recently a new figure was announced from the "Enchanting Disney" collection and to my surprise most fans were negative about it: overpriced, didn't like the material, etc. Myself, I pre-ordered immediately because it's exactly what I've been wishing for - so while others may hate it, it responds to my needs. Same thing here.

Although I still have to point out that the criticism is towards Toei and Bandai for being random in the products they allow to be made. One day they're selling chopsticks, then tampons, tea saucers, wedding tiaras and mobile phones. I started this "20th Anniversary" with a "must get all the stuff" mindset because well... Sailor Moon everywhere! And now I'm just sitting here like "oh brother, what are they trying to sell this time?"

No you do make a valid point. I'm sure this phone was prefect for someone. Maybe a person who doesn't want all the features that phones have today. Because you know phones were made to um call people...

Personally, every time I see a new SM merch I don't like/way overpriced now, I take a sigh of relief because that means my wallet will get some break.

I just remind myself I live far away from Japan. I don't want to deal with shipping or taxes.

You guys... I'm pretty sure the only Sailor Moon product here is the accompanying stickers.  Not the phone itself.  lol

It's a very cute concept but not very useful considering everyone has smart phones these days.  Maybe cute for a child in case of emergencies. 

Fun fact: a few years ago my husband made me a very similar locket that twisted and turned into a heart, just like this phone. Pretty sure he stole the idea from the movie The Illusionist.
