Just finished watching it, it was an outstanding show! I love the animation and the music is amazing, it truly reminded me of all of the old times in the original anime. I noticed that it focused more on the manga, and a bit of the live action too, so it was a little bit different from the original, however the character animation supports it all so it all melts together. I really love it, and it truly will bring more fans to the fandom!  

Also when I saw Mamoru/Tuxedo Kamen I couldn't stop fangirling because he was just so HOT!! I literally squealed all the moments I saw him. 

Aaaaanddd Shingo is so cute! Like kawaii cute, he is so gullible,like just too kawaii!!!!!  

Shingo's eye colour is teal? I've never noticed before ('cos it was coloured a much darker shade previously).. 
Ikuko mama's & Usagi's sky blue.. makes me wonder how would Kenji papa look? ^_^

Ah! One minor detail I noticed the 1st time I was watching crystal, Usagi's english handwriting on her exam script is way neater than mine (both when i was 14 & as i am now)~ LOL!!

I loved the first episode but I was so scared to watch it because I didn't want to be disappointed. I grew up watching the 90s version and this show is so special to me. I have to say I love it! I have the first 4 volumes of the manga so I'm debating reading along as we get the episodes

Eheh, reading along might not be a good idea, because you would have the next episode just a single page away, and that would be too tempting. Better wait until episode 6 of crystal before opening the first volume, if you want to enjoy the wait! :B

For me, I'm just so happy Sailor Moon is back and I don't have any room for complaints.  I loved everything about the first episode, and I really enjoyed the bits of humor.  For example, Usagi falling down the stairs xD.  The episode was fantastic and I'm super excited for the next one!

I quite enjoyed the episode! The prettiness is definitely nice even though I miss the old ridiculous faces too. Come on animators, Usagi doesn't have to stay pretty 100% of the time!

I think the foreshadowing/plot addition might be the Serenity/Endymion scenes? I don't remember if they were in the Act 1 of the manga or not.

Is it just me or does Mamoru's voice actor sound a lot like the old one? That was what I first thought when I heard his voice, and I loved it!

I also loved when Usagi made that remark about him being weird standing in the middle of the day wearing a tux xD

I personally loved it too. I felt alittle silly tearing up because I didn't really know why I was tearing up. I guess it was when she yelled Moon Prism Power. Even though I really disliked the CGI used for her transformation, everything else was awesome. The tone of this episode is a lot less silly then the original 90s one, which I like, and it does follow the manga pretty well. I'm so excited for the next episode. Yay. 


BTW LOVED THE INTRO. It was one of my favorite parts.



Oh yeah...and I loved the Moon Tiara Boomerang. It looked so cool! LOVED IT AHH.

You know, this episode really made me want to play a Sailor V game like the one in the Crown Arcade, except for a handheld console.

Soooo I FINALLY watched it lol xD I really enjoyed it =D It seems a lot more....I dunno how to explain it xD Not gruesome, but that's the only word I can think of! Like when 'Naru's Mom' is telling her that she saw her secret and now she has to kill her! That was awesome xD Although I still find it funny that Usagi and Mamoru met normally, where he was in that outfit and her hair was down up that way....yet they don't put two and two together xDD Makes me gigggle!! But I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next episode!

Everything about it is awesome. I'm going through the Time Door to watch all the future episodes because I can't wait so long! Let me in, Pluto! Pluto! Pluto, seriously...

I saw episode 1 today too, minus a tiny bit where the video glitched out. But I'll go back and watch that later.

It was enjoyable. The art was good, the intro was good, and the flashback memories were a good touch with the story being finished. And it definitely followed the manga. Though they still had Mamoru show up wearing a tuxedo in the daytime. In the first anime they got rid of that. I mean while it is fun to make jokes about it, it doesn't change the fact that IT MADE NO SENSE. Usagi wonders "who wears a tux in the afternoon", and that's a good question. It's just silly. I don't think it would have been bad to leave that out.

Though they also took out Sailor Moon's mask, which I can understand since it was discarded so quickly.

I will admit that I am concerned that they will keep the manga's super-fast (too fast) pacing, that Luna will continue to be vague about what is going on and refuse to explain anything like in the manga, and that they'll not bother fixing any of the weird mess ups the manga had.

Still, good episode. The choir in the background was really nice. And they made a flat out reference to Naru being rich, which I don't think they did in the manga.

I think the thing about Naru being rich is the translator of the subs making.... weird choices. In the manga, they just say she is from a good family (good as in "wealthy"), and some of the other translations I've seen go that way too.

I really loved Usagi's ''dream sequences''. The way it was chosen to be presented, with no faces, almost just shadows and how it was slow mode really made it look like a dream. 

The beautiful closeups all through the episode made it feel like we were reading a manga sometimes. I'm happy they decided to do that because it adds a lot to the show. 

I love the difference there is between the original version and Crystal's just in the softness of the colors yet vibrant, the lines that are smoother as well (even though I still love the 1990s version ) I think they made it look ''cuter'' if that would be a good word for it. 

Osa-P's interior design looks so much better than original version. Seems like they accorded more time to this background design and updated it in a more modern version which may seem like nothing but it was in my opinion a very good thing.

I really really loved that first interaction between Usagi and Mamoru. So much different from the original scene. The arrogance toward Usiagi's score on that test is there but then when their eyes meet, we can perceive the chemistry between them which was inexistent in the other version. 

I loved how they pictured Usagi's teacher. She looks so much better in Crystal. Shingo as well. I thought he looked more like her brother this time. 

The thing I thought missed was when Usagi takes the bandages off Luna's forehead. I remember finding it magical when it glowed in the original version which did not in this one. Also, when she gives Usagi her brooch, nothing magical seemed there but I can't say I don't like it, it's just different.

Tuxedo Kamen= Looks better but I really didn't like the flying pose he took in the end of the episode. Didn't look masculine at all. I wonder when he'll be taking out his roses though  Can't wait. 

I was glad of the way they introduced Ami in the 2nd episode ^-^ I can't wait to watch it

I don't see it as a weird choice, it's no less true. And it always seemed strange to me that people seemed to glance over the fact that she's LOADED. I mean they make a big deal about Ami being wealthy, but not Naru. I mean her family store has a ruby worth a million dollars. I just liked their bringing attention to it.

Yeah, but also: Naru has been Usagi's friend since elementary school. I think she had all the time to be amazed by this already.
Ah, and the Tsukinos are surely pretty loaded too. They have such a big house and a car in a residential area of TOKYO, one of the world's most crowded capital.
I think the Osakas live in an apartment above their store? We never see Naru's dad, so maybe he is an important businessman?

Good point. Though one wonders how a reporter can afford a place like that. Usagi's dad is a reporter, right? Or do I have that wrong? Usagi's family never seemed to give off the vibe of being wealthy to me. I mean they made a bigger deal about Ami. But maybe that's me.

As for the apartment thing, I'd say yes. Naru's mom was tied up in the basement, and from what I recall Naru was at home when she got attacked. So yeah, they must live in an apartment space above the store. Not a bad idea really. It solves the space issue of Tokyo, and besides that it gets rid of any work commute.

Yeah but the roses were so omnipresent in the first version, it would be weird for them not to in this one while I understand they were not in the manga :S Aww well, it will only be different  

The "In the name of the moon" pose was an anime only thing, yet it made it back to crystal c: I think it's safe to assume the roses might return.

Agreed. If Sailor Moon wanted to change things around an have the girls be the main heroes, that's all well and good. But the fact of the matter is that the genders still need to be balanced, otherwise you just have the same problem in a different place. Tuxedo Mask needs to DO something, be a hero and have a significant impact.

I mean this guy was the prince of Earth, he was someone Usagi fell in love with. Show us WHY he was the prince of Earth, make us believe this guy is real prince material inside and out.

I just watched the 1st episode and I am extremely happy with it. I feel like I'm 9 year's old again and watching it on YTV.

I woke up bright and early to watch the first episode, and I was SO HAPPY. It filled me with nostalgia. One of the things I was really happy to have return is Usagi's voice-over narrative. I thought that would be something they'd drop, but I really love her "I'm Usagi, here's my age and school year and some traits about me." It's cuuuuuute. ♥
