This paper art piece (made with crafts papers, glue, double sides tape, and decorative gems) is quite different from my usually art work. I got the idea to make this after seeing the Sailor Moon paper art works online. This is the first time I’ve done paper art and I underestimated how much work this was going to be. XD;; I probably should’ve done something simpler, but I just couldn’t help it!

Guess my Muse is still pretty caught up on paper crafting. :p I had wanted to do a Princess Tutu paper craft, but I had trouble with composing the piece. I had already bought some shinny gold foil paper for Tutu’s crown, and thinking about what I can do with it, I remembered this artwork from the fifth Sailor Moon artbook, and I thought it would be perfect for Galaxia. In some ways making a paper craft based on existing artwork is easier, as the drawing is already there, but in other ways it’s also harder, because there are angles and details that are hard to replicate in paper form. Still, I think recreating Naoko Takeuchi’s art in paper is pretty fun. ^^

I had initially wanted to imitate the background in the original artwork, but unlike 2D art, paper craft is 3D, and with no line art visible the paper figure fades into the background. So I chose to use a black background with some gold art deco inspired borders, which I felt was well suited for Galaxia’s nickname, The Golden Queen.

This is my Secret Santa gift to silvermoon424 for the 2014 Tuxesecret Santa gift exchange on Tumblr. The giftee really like the friendship between the girls, so I drew a fanart that showed some of the activities Chibi Usa might be doing with the girls during the holiday season in Japan.
While Christmas is mostly a secular holiday in Japan, people there still enjoy it in many different ways. One of the ways Japanese people enjoy Christmas is eating Christmas cakes, which are typically made with sponge cake, whipped cream, and strawberries. I think Makoto would definitely make her own Christmas cake (or rather, cakes, since Usagi can’t have just one ^_~). Ami would help by precisely measuring out the ingredients as per her handy cook book, while Chibi Usa would help slice strawberries to decorate the cake.
In addition to cakes, Christmas songs are also popular in Japan. Minako, who’s been to England, might know a few English Christmas songs in addition to popular Japanese Christmas songs. I think she would also be more than happy to give an impromptu concert with a carrot microphone after helping Chibi Usa build a snow man at the Hikawa Shrine with Rei.
While Christmas is a newly introduced holiday, New Years is traditionally an important holiday in Japan, and there’s a wealth of traditions and activities people participate in to celebrate the New Year. People will dress up in kimonos and go visit shrines to wish for good luck in the new year. Around New Years it’s also popular for people to play a game called hanetsuki, a paddle based game that’s like a cross between badminton and table tennis, but with no nets. The goal of the sport is to keep a shuttlecock in the air for as long as possible while two players play a rally. Whoever misses or looses gets their face marked with India ink. I image after a shrine visit, Usagi and Chibi Usa would start playing hanetsuki in Juuban Park while Mamoru and Luna look on…a game which invariably ends with Usagi getting mad at Chibi Usa for winning (by a narrow margin), and the girls start chasing each other around the park, all the while wearing their formal kimonos. XD

I drew this little comic last week for Father's Day but forgot to post them here until now. :p The events could, theoretically, take place in the same universe as my Future Reunion comic, but the time line would be different. The idea is partly based on http://fav.me/d7647lt I drew more than a year ago where an older Chibi Usa go on a date with Helios as civilians.

This made me tear up. Well done, as always.

This all started with a headcanon meme on tumblr that somehow ended with me getting suckered i.e. my Muse getting carried away into drawing an evil!Helios, inspired by Pitch Black from ROTG though I personally think he looks more like an Alter version of his character ala from the Fate/Stay Night universe. XD;;

This calls to me. I really love how you did it and I kinda liked Pitch Black so the mix is even greater. It's really pretty!

It actually reminded me a bit of the evil Mythos from Princess Tutu but I totally love hte concept! (Its probably cause they got similar hair styles and I know you're a Tutu fan xD) Also dont' ever hesitate to post any Tutu fanart if you happen to make any cause i love Princess Tutu

I'm already thinking of all the reasons to how Helios could get turned evil...xD

 I actually got into the whole "sexy, evil version of a canon hero" because of the whole Raven!Prince Fakir AU that was popular on Livejournal back in the day, so this is just an extension of that trend. XD;; Sadly my Muse has sorta shut down on Princess Tutu fanart; I just can't get her interested atm.

I would LOVE to hear all the reasons you have as to how Helios would turn into a villain! XDDDDD

As far as ideas, I'm just thinking maybe during the Sailor Wars, Elysion gets corrupted as does Helios and thus it weakens earth's power (thus weakening King Endymion thus his death) and maybe that could attribute to Cosmos having a hard time fighting Sailor Chaos. Or maybe we go like something where Nehellenia shoves something into his body while he's captured that corrupts him (a la all the tropes from all teh fantasy things). Or maybe to go with Future reunion, Death Phantom managed to embed some of hte malefic black crystal into him. WHO KNOWS. ALL THE THINGS. ALL THE CORRUPTION. ALL THE SEXY.

I recently got bitten by the paper craft bug again, and Sailor Cosmos is one of the most beautiful senshi, so I decided to make a piece featuring her. Putting this piece together was quite challenging in some parts, such as figuring out the order in which to layer certain pieces of paper, how to construct her staff (it's made from a shaved down bamboo skewer, card stock, decorative gems, and two different types of glue if you're wondering), etc. It got a bit frustrating and exhausting towards the end, but it's now done!

WOW! Your paper crafts are always astounding and this one certainly tops the cake! I love all the little details and the little gems for her staff and hair pieces!! And the wings look amazing with that transparent paper you used. Beautiful!
