Did some things in your life changed because you loved Sailor Moon too much?

As for myself, I remember I used to be good in art class, but just before I found out about Sailor Moon, I started to get bored of drawing always the same things. Also, I thought the subjects people were asking me to draw were just boring as well. I felt I couldn't even find any inspiration when came the time to draw something.

So when I first saw a Sailor Moon episode, it was kind of like a revelation to me. Finally, there was something connecting to my personality. Also, the story was full of adventures which was what I thought was actually missing in my life, action! Of course, I was young, but I wanted to live something else than just an ordinary life, I did not just wanted to be the little girl, I wanted to be strong, I wanted to help people and of course, I wanted to be in love! Also, Japanimation had just the kind of look I wanted to bring to my characters. I thought they would look more interesting and have attitude!

That's how it all started, ever since, I drew over three thousand Sailor Senshis and even created some. When I was feeling comfortable drawing all Sailor Moon characters an my own, I could let myself go and combined to my unlimited imaginatio, I could finally develop my own style.

So all I have to say now is if I got better and that I'm barely able to draw and paint anything today, it is all because of you Naoko! You were my very first inspiration! Thank You!

Sailor Moon was my hero and my role model. When I was really young I cried all the time; I was overly touchy and emotional, and I was kind of ashamed of being such a cry baby because I was teased about it. I had two really great friends (who hated each other) that always defended me against the mean little boys in my class; so when we discovered Sailor Moon I kinda saw her as hope. She was a crybaby, too, but she didn't let other people dictate her mood or get her down about being who she was. Not only that, but she became stronger, she made other people happy, and sacrificed herself for the good of everyone, her friends in particular.
She shaped who I became - when I said that Sailor Moon was my role model, I was serious. Growing up I constantly reminded myself to be as she was - strong, explosively happy, friendly, open-minded, and as strange as I felt like being.

So... Sailor Moon influenced my life by influencing who I became.

.... Oh, and that whole career thing. Sailor Moon ---> Mythology & Space ---> Astronomy.
