The Galaxy Cauldron is proud to announce its 14th writing contest. The theme for this writing contest is "Expanded Background on a Non-Main Character." You are free to interpret the theme as you like. The rules are as follows:

Rules
1. Entries must be 1000 words or less.
2. Entries must be rated PG13 or lower.
3. Entries must be related to the theme.
4. Your entry must be a new entry created specifically for this challenge.
5. You may only submit one entry.
6. You may not show your entry to anyone else or post it elsewhere on the Galaxy Cauldron until after the contest is over and the winner is announced.
7. Sailor Moon themed entries are encouraged, but not required.

Can it be one main character but include some side characters?

the main character can be included, BUT the story must be about a non-main character. like, if you're gonna talk about motoki, you may include mamoru and usagi, but in this fic, motoki is the star and we want him to be the lead.

I know exactly who I will do because the person is exactly like my brother.

Entry 1

She killed me with light and saved me through death.

Warmth rose though my body. Curtains opened and memories flooded.

I had sold my soul to the hateful woman to become a man worthy of her love. The perfect idol and leader.

I became her puppet. I had chosen this path, she said, because your love will never notice such an unimportant foot soldier from the middle of nowhere. You must become the man of her wildest dreams.

You must give me energy. I will give you the world in return-a world where you are king. 

She will become your queen.

It was so easy to manipulate her. It almost became a game. One day her ally, the next her enemy. Every day a new card game.

But even the best-laid plans crumble at times.

I had told her about the past, hoping to give her another reason to love me. Instead I awakened something else in her.

Princess Serenity.

Her failure to save her.

She would never choose me over her sacred duty.

So I told her fortune, hoping to cause her to fall into endless despair. To make her forever regret never choosing me. 

Except my past was a lie.

The clouds lifted upon death.

Metalia did tell the truth about the past. Except for my own. 

I wasn't a foot soldier during the war, but instead General Adonis. The head of the Venusian army. A man known for his valor and determination.

Everyone thought she loved me

Love gave me a reason to protect her.

When we were shipped off to the moon, my department was under the control of Kunzite.

She was infatuated with him, setting off a snowballing chain of jealousy. 

Foolish mistakes began piling up. Death became the most common outcome of my plans.

So, when Kunzite summoned me to his office, I expected to be dismissed. Instead I got the most bizarre speech of my entire life.

"General Adonis"

"Yes?"

"Do you know anything about the Earth''s ruling system?"

"Um... The do not have senshi, and are led by Prince Endymion, and his four guardians..."

"Correct. Now, a tradition on Earth is for the prince's protectors-the shitennou, to select their successors. However, since there are no, ah, suitable men, I would like to select you. General Adonis, King of the South"

I considered this for a minute. 

Through the window, we could see Sailor Venus being strangled by Queen Beryl.

"Though if you choose the position, we will have to... Adonis!"

With adrenaline, pride, and love racing though my veins, I had opened the window and leapt out, hoping to save her.

To prove myself a better lover than Kunzite, who had stood by and watched.

And I did save her.

At the cost of my life. 

If a man jumps out a 50th floor window screaming "VENUS!", wouldn't you notice him?

Beryl's momentary distraction caused Venus to break free of her hair. She stabbed a sword though her body.

Unfortunately, she also hit me, who Beryl's hair had decided to grab. 

And then there was endless darkness. 

Until she killed me again.

My lady, there is so much I wish I could tell you... But I know you will never forgive me...

Entry 2

My sister was late for school. Again. "God Usagi, you need an alarm clock or something," I yelled down the hall. The blonde groaned. "Shut up, Shingo! Isn't it already a bad day?!" I laughed. "It's a great day for me!" Tears started swelling in my older sister's blue eyes. "Mom! Shingo's being mean to me!" My mother walked up to me. "Now Shingo," she stated, "stop teasing Usagi or she'll be even more late to school! And Usagi, hurry up, you're gonna be late again!" Why does she always take her side? It's not my fault Usagi's stupid! I said goodbye and ran out the door. I didn't want to be late like somebody.

When I came home there was a cat. I freaking hate cats! It was a black cat, which made it unlucky, and it had a bald spot on its head. It was so freaky! This could only be the cause of one person: Usagi. But she wasn't home. Mom was so pissed; she thought i brought it home! So I kicked it out. Hours later, Usagi came home… with a 30 on her semester exam! Mom kicked her out, and she came crying to my room! "Get the hell out of here," I yelled. I slammed the door and she tried to kick it like Sailor V. Of course, Usagi's Queen of the Klutzes, so she just hurt her foot. I laughed manically. She sobbed, "Shut up," which just made me laugh even harder. Unfortunately, Usagi was let inside the house because her crying upset the neighbors. And the freak cat was back. Wonderful.

Anyway, the next day, everyone was talking about this new superhero named Sailor Moon. She was a blonde and apparently "The pretty Sailor Senshi of Love and Justice!" This one kid was convinced she was Usagi! I think he's crazy. Sure, Sailor Moon has odangos like her, but that's it! Usagi is the dumbest girl I know, and Sailor Moon must be pretty smart, to be able to fight evil! The worst thing is that my incredibily stupid sister thinks she actually is Sailor Moon! She often threatens to "moon-dust" me, and she often poses like Sailor Moon around the house, to my mother's amusement! Usagi also claims she knows all the Sailor Senshi. That's completely ridiculous because I'm sure the Sailor Senshi wouldn't waste any of her time with Usagi! And me, poor little Shingo Tsukino, has to put up with my sister's crap every day! I swear, my older sister is insane!
