Hi! I am 28 years old and a freelance Illustrator. Currently, I work for two jobs – one as a Software Testing Manager and a part-time job as a Graphic Designer. I am a mother of two kids who are 3 and 4. I have been into anime for over 10 years now and some of my favorite anime/manga includes Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, and Saikano. I am also a gamer and huge collector.



Outside of the anime world, I pretty much draw and write most of my free time (original and fandom), taking time to watch shows like Cake Boss and Project Runway. Besides that, you often find me working in Photoshop, sketching, working in Microsoft Office. And oddly enough, I found this forum on the Facebook page of Sailor Moon Sacrifice and I’m really excited to be apart of this community as I have been searching for another Sailor Moon community to be apart of.





I actually first started watching the Sailor Moon anime when it first aired on television in 1995 on a channel that use to be known as WBKidz – there was even a point where the “hostess” of the morning shows actually dressed up as Sailor Moon. I remember as a kid that I found it different and I liked it. To me it was much different than the everday Saturday morning cartoons that I watched back then so I was instantly hooked. When it came to the manga though, I did not find out about it until 1997 by my best friend who is also into Sailor Moon and owned a couple of copies.



Some of my favorites coming from the Sailor Moon series is by far, the ‘S’ season. The theme of that season was by far different to me than what I saw in Classic, R, SuperS, and Stars and always just seem to stick out beyond the others. And if you probably haven’t guessed it, I am a HUGE Sailor Saturn fan, making Mistress 9 my favorite villain (with a close second to Black Lady).



I am also a big fan of otaku senshi and have created a few myself. The one I am probably known most for is my cliché character, Sailor Silence. In a nutshell, she was an assassin senshi for Queen Serenity and is the fraternal twin sister of Sailor Saturn during the Silver Millennium. That’s her in my siggy *points to siggy* I have others images of her on my deviantart page so she has a strong resemblance to Saturn but has differences in hairstyle and eye color.



As I tell people, I have more fun making up stories and profiles for cliché characters as I always love a challenge into create a different character with the name. I also love the creativity of creating characters in a already pre-existing universe.

It's awesome to have another gamer on board, too. Which games in particular do you like? Any series as whole?

I'd love to see your OC senshi, too. And it seems we have a bit in common with them - I'm enjoying the challenge of giving a very original spin to an otherwise cliche archetype, one character of which I've been working on off and on for a few months now. (Sailor Star, renamed in a Latin them Sailor Sidus. Another archetype on my hit-list is Sailor Nemesis. ^^)

It was a long time ago so I would be amazed if there was any recorded footage of that lady dressed up as Sailor Moon. I just remember watching it with my friend and we were just in awe that she actually dressed up.

I actually did not draw my sig. It was drawn by a good friend of mine on Deviantart, Treebot. ^^

Believe it or not, my degree is in 3D Computer Animation and Digital Design. After I got out of college and held a few drops, I found out that I have more fun with creating concepts and illustrations than I did with modeling, rigging and such. Even at that, my specialty in 3D was texturing and creating shaders.

I just love about every genre of video games there is. I'm not too big on First Person Shooter games though as I always have a rough time with the controls. I really love just about all types of gaming genres with the exception of First Person Shooters - I always have a hard time trying to figure out the controls. A couple of series I am into is Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, and Fatal Frame/Project Zero. Even though I love the newer gen systems and the games with it, I do love my older games such as the Secret of Mana, Mario Brothers 2 and 3, and Legend of Dragoon.

As for my OC, I will definitely post up some picture when I get a chance. At the moment, my actual computer has been sent of to be repaired so I am often hijacking my husband's computer (Muhahahaha!) or checking my computer at work while on a break. I love the fact that you and I share common interest when it comes to cliché senshi! I hope you share them as I would love to see them! ^^

The image of the Sailor Silence you showed me is definitely a different one than my OC - quite interesting though ^^ I took a look in the artist's gallery and saw a close up on the face and easily could tell we had a different Sailor Silence.

I am vaguely familiar with Assassin's Creed through the first DS game, and Resident Evil through a friend. Both look like really interesting series, and I'd love to get into the Mana games (but thus far, I don't have any of the titles).

Hehe, well, if I ever actually get around to finishing Sailor Sidus, I plan to post her. So far, her character sheet is upwards of 6000 words. And I'm not done yet. ^_^" I think it'll be fun to exchange commentary on all of our otaku senshi, though, not just our cliche-tests (what I'm calling these, to see how well I do them, XD).

Yeah I enjoy conceps, illustrations, storyboarding, etc. a lot more than modeling. And rigging, i hate rigging! >< I guess i never practiced enough. I usually had problems with paint skin weights and things just acting all kinds of funky. I never got good at texturing things. And i had always thought that'd be something i'd be good at, but i feel like everyone was so rushed at my school with the way its taught. Maybe i should do some tutorials. Btw, I would love to see some of your art!

Thanks for the welcome! As for compositing, I have dabbed a little bit in it, but since the 3D program I used added more particle control, it's becoming less and less involvement for me to do that as much. I do have a website, but it's incomplete at the moment. I hope to finish it soon.

And yes, I am a fan of the movie Paprika and in general the director. I've always loved his works. Although, the nickname "Paprika" was a college nickname that I got from my friends because I use to dye my hair a fire red to the point where one of my friends said, "Your hair is so red, it looks like a paprika." Since then, I've been stuck with this nickname but I love it ^^.

That is a fun nickname--distinctive too. I wish I had something cool like that but I tend to get various nicknames from other people.
