Sailor Moon Analemma.. One of my favorites. She is a one man crew, I just wish someone would help her because its been a year since she has done anything so far. She the live action sailor moon on her film and she took the anime luna and used her for the film. Its pretty cool lol

Sailor Moon The Movie just today came out. I watched and was disappointed and pleasantly surprised. They did good but I wish the generals had actual general clothing, among other things. But all in all was pretty good.

Just remember guys, none of these are going to be a A+ film. You can't go in expecting the world, but then you find that they don't meet those exceptions. You can find some really awesome concepts though. Everyone found that out with the first Sailor Moon Fan film, just giving you guys a heads up.

I love fanfilms! I really like seeing the twists and turns they come up with, and generally you can tell just how much effort and love they put into their project. <3

I'm really excited to see that one, simply because I've read a lot of things posted by some of the actresses in it and they seem to really love SM which makes me love what they are doing too! :3

I'm glad you included Sailor Moon Sacrifice on the list. It's a really unique "6th season". I just wish they would give us a basic summary of the plot. I get a bit confuse because they have new characters I have no idea who they are.

Well Sailor Moon Sacrifice pretty well developed, we might have to find out about everything when the produce more episodes. I do believe they said the "Black haired Sailor Moon" is her sister. But like every episode we will just have to watch and see

I know the black hair Usgai is Usagi's sister. I know one bad guy is Chaos? The people I don't know is that long black hair naked girl or those "new" sailor soldiers. I just wish there was a basic summary like on back cover on a book.

Oh the new released one finally came out. Lol, I've been following it off and on for like over a year now. I never liked the fact that they used the same girl to play both Usagi and Mina buuuuuut.... oh well. Guess I'll watch it and see how it does!

Also, I think so far my favorite of the fanfilms has been the Dead Moon Circus and my least favorite was SMA's short film. I've watched Sacrifice (i think just the first ep? its been a while now) and while the editing and everything is good, I'm still not keen on the story. The whole "black haired Usagi" sister thing is a bit cliche for me (maybe its because i've made my own long lost sister story and seen others a lot...so its a bit overdone imo).

Anywaaaay, I do enjoy seeing fanfilms cause it is fun to see others interpretations of Sailor Moon (even if I end up not liking them xD)

Can I say how much I love Dead Moon Circus? This new one is also pretty nice and the two of them feel more authentic for some reason, when compared to SMA's.

As for Sacrifice, I'm totally digging the new Kurai.

Sacrifice defenitly is the best one! when i discovered this team the first thing i thought "they also have the sister idea, but managed to develop it better than me" because i also have the sister idea from my personal fanfic.

i can't wait for more episodes! i started to read their fic (i believe it's the same girl/team) on ff.net i haven't checked for updates but i can't wait >.<

I can totally agree with this. I find it to be way more developed, so I can still enjoy it even though I feel its cliche.

I just watched Dead Moon Circus and it was AMAZING. I know it has it's flaws but I thought the dialogue and the characters and the creepiness and just everything was AWESOME.

I'll watch sacrifice later, but I've been in bed for forever watching Dead Moon Circus and fangirling over it so yeah

The Sailor Moon short fan film is horrible. Like completely horrible. I won't mince words. Bad actors, bad story, bad dialogue, bad lighting (MY GOD THE LIGHTING!) missed the point of the actual series (I don't mind if they change things, just don't claim you are doing otherwise!), and I'm pretty sure they've only seen the dub. They can't pronounce Naru either. NahRUUU. The good part is the special effects and honestly I don't care. PGSM and SeraMyu have poor effects and they're still wonderful. The Dead Moon Circus one had no real OMG! bad points, some of the actors aren't great, but they're not pretending to be any greater than they are, so I can't complain, however, honestly it wasn't interesting enough to keep my attention and I stopped after about half an hour. Maybe people should stop making fanfilms and leave it to the professionals >..>" Sailor Moon is a distinctly Japanese thing, everyone from Ami down to Sailor Aluminum Seiren and back up to Usagi and Mimet are distinctly Japanese, there's so much Japanese-ness it actually hurts a little bit. I appreciate what they've done and I recognize the effort, but I also keep in mind that they're "comedy" (their humor isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it falls in to the category nonetheless) writers. The acting is certainly not the best, especially Usagi and Naru, but everyone has to start somewhere...and yea..Luna does look like a drowned rat, but again, the VA is still a stepping stone, with practice, I'm sure she'll be looking like a normal cat in no time. The way I look at it, they're just expressing their love for the series, like any other fan project, I just wish they'd stop making their fans pay thousands of dollars for it.


I actually appreciate Dead Moon Circus more than any project out there. They paid for it out of their own pockets, and did the best they could with what they had. Is it Hollywood material? I thought the SMA short film was terrible too and I used to watch SMA (I stopped watching when they got to R. Their comedy just fell flat). If I remember correctly don't they use the English Dub names expect for Naru's? If I'm right that bother me because what's the point of that? Use all English names or all Japanese names.

I tried watching the Dead Moon Circus, but the their accents killed it for me (which is funny because I like the Australian accent). I can't take them seriously. The same thing happen to me in the Nick show called H20 (a show about mermaids with Australian actors).

Oh yami, that show H20 is originally an Australian show that they just decided to air here in the US as well.

I must be the only one that doesn't mind their accents in Dead Moon Circus...But I think Australian accents are adorable. xD

I think it was the SMA one, even if they're a comedy elsewhere, their video was definitely something they tried taking far too seriously. I commend them for their effort, they've clearly done their best, but its not always effort that makes a sucess and I honestly don't care what Luna looks like. Scripting, dialogue and acting however were much bigger issues. There is no real need for funding on script, with such a wide range of sources to adapt in Sailor Moon, having a story and script that just falls on its face is really not excusable. With such inconsistency with the source material while they continue to say how they're trying to stick to the source, makes me think they have not really been paying attention, or else just had seen the dub. I have no trouble with people adapting from the dub, just don't claim its not. Beryl first of all has no desire to destroy the Earth in any version of the series, the Earth is her homeland she wishes to rule over it. Usagi is cheerful and kind, she is not refined but she is not rough and harsh. Serenity attempted to sacrifice herself for Endymion, not have Endymion go save her because shes a helpless female (this is the impression I got in their movie) and then again in that alleyway by a monster (even though Youma are female unless made from a human male) and Umino is an otaku gossiper which has a slight difference to the nerdy socially awkward Melvin. Naoko also went through an unknown number of designs for Sailor Moon's outfit. How they claimed that they used her "original design" which were not since we have seen work of Sailor Moon's outfit that predates that version, is unjustified. PGSM Usagi still has odango, this is her iconic hairstyle, she has black hair in PGSM most likely because shocking blonde does not look so good in a world where almost everyone has black or brown hair.

Of the above, I have no problem if they had made any of these changes, the point of an adaption is to well... adapt... to change it around to make something new. However, I don't think you can change things that much and still claim to be going close to the source, its better to say "inspired" or "influenced" or "re-imagining" or "new version". I don't think its fair, in short you cannot have your cake and eat it to. The best adaptions will follow the original and mix in their own originality.

I'm watching the Sailor Moon The Movie: Pretty Soldier. I like it. The actors are okay some of them need to speak louder and put more emotion. I like how the mix the music from PGSM and the anime. They also added some elements of PGSM as well like Beryl standing and Ami eating lunch alone. The thing that bothers me the most is Sailor V's wig. It's just a mess.

So I know this isn't a fan film, but it's a fan made manga and I thought so far it was very interesting ^_^

You have a point. They caused to much hype for something they didn't deliver. But that can be said for my series as well, depending on who is viewing. Not many people realize that we're sticking to the Japanese version of the anime and incorporating the manga as much as we can. For some reason, people expect the dub.

Overall, I'm just disappointed in their film, as I am extremely sour to them begging for so much money and not giving people what they paid for. And you're right, in my perspective, it's Americanized to the T.
