Just wondering if it is worth me getting the Office package with OneNote included. I'm starting school and I need to get Word and all that junk on my lappy. My sister loves OneNote and I was just wondering if anyone else used the program.

Download open office or use google docks. Does basically the same thing and both are free.... as for oneNote, never heard of it >_<

I have the word starter which is fine for the word processing assignments, however they want me to have power point and some other crap that I really don't wish to get. Does open office offer that type of stuff too?

It has it's own version of power point.

I've used onenote before...back when it came with my first laptop, I used it a bit for class, but I just prefer good old fashioned hand written notes. I learn better that way. Maybe if I had had my tablet back then, I could have written the notes via tablet to the program, but i didn't. so yeah. It does seem to be a good way to enter your handwritten notes though. its been a while since i used the program.

I got Office for free.

I actually LOVED OneNote, especially when I actually took my laptop to class. For some reason, it helped me focus more in my math and science classes.

If I still took my laptop to classes, I would use OneNote for all my work. I got all of Microsoft Ultimate suite for like $70, so check if there are any student specials!
