Princess Silver

"Boring?  Don't you realize that any one of us could be next if we don't do something?"  The princess was quite agitated, and at her wit's end.

Mademoiselle Rose

"The invitation said there would be fun, not people falling over and staff missing," Mademoiselle Rose she huffed, eyes still teary from before. "Why would I know what to do about it?

Madame Mauve

The robust woman heard a crash and sighed deeply. Such shenanigans! What she came across upon her return was another matter entirely. "Which of you were near?" she demanded, "Which of you has created this brutal travesty!!"

Chancellor Crimson
The lights went out just as he was asked to check the pool room. As he was pondering his answer-he'd already checked it out, after all-the darkness consumed the casino once more, announcing it's welcome with a bang. The lights popped back on, and now two more were dead-crushed under the weight of a fancy bookcase. 

Crimson screamed. He ignored those investigating, he ignored the arguing that started. He ignored everything.

"NO! nonononononono!" He clamped his hands over his ears in an attempt to filter out anything else that would cause him terror, squeezing his eyes shut. "This can't be happening! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!"

Sapphire was, once again, in shock. Two people at once? And when none of them had even left the main hall? This was getting out of hand!

It took her a little bit to realize Princess Silver had said anything to her, but she eventually replied, "I think... I think we either need to get out of here, or we need to figure out which among us is the murderer. And we need to do it fast, before all of us are dead."

She looked at everyone assembled in turn, attempting to determine which of them could be responsible for this mess. Then she remembered something. She turned to Madame Mauve and said "Hey, a couple blackouts ago... you took a little longer than Count Emerald here to Coke back from the lounge. I mean, it's a bit of a stretch to say you're the murderer but..." she raised her voice and turned to the rest of the group, saying "It's worth a bit of consideration, don't you think?"

"Hmm. It's true," Lord Indigo said, still examining the area for anything of interest. "But on the other hand, maybe she was late because she was actually searching for something? Not much to search for if you're the one who did it, no?" he shrugged.

"I seem to recall that she led Count Emerald where she wanted," he continued. He wasn't actually there when she denied his suggestion and took him to the Lounge with her, but the place was now quiet and she was loud. "I doubt the Count found have found anything useful if a murderer chose the place, and it seems pointless to dispose of him afterwards if that's the case..."

He sighed. It was good that they started to talk, but this still didn't make much sense to him. He chose to side with Princess Silver. "If anything, perhaps it'd be a good idea if Miss Rose would stay still for a while, just to be safe..."

One way or the other. He continued his search for anything that could be used to restrain someone.

Mademoiselle Rose

Mademoiselle Rose continued to sniffle, having pulled out a pink handkerchief to dry her tears with. She glared at Lord Indigo in-between hiccuping half-sobs. He had just accused her again! She was starting to think he was the person making all of this stupid and boring and not fun. If she wound up hurt somehow, her family would sue him for everything he was worth! She didn't even want to bother speaking up. Everyone else in this room thought he was sooooo awesome and smart. They wouldn't listen to her.

This was the worst party ever.

Also, I'd like for us to finish up soon, so I'll begin to be more strict with the times of everything. I've been lenient since this is a game style we haven't had in a long time, but to get us to a finish, we'll have to keep pushing along! Madame Mauve


"Meeee?" came the high pitched whine. "Well! The mere thought!" She fanned her face. "It's true I was in the lounge for a skosh long but only because there was some broken glass and someone had just been stabbed! Unfortunately," her voice undulated, "it was only some broken bottles behind the bar." She sniffed. "And while I do appreciate your sticking up for me, it's you I suspect, Lord Indigo! You were so utterly blase about the murder." She shuddered. "What was it you said? 'A pocket knife or something.' Well, however did you know that!" Madame Mauve pointed an accusatory finger.

Princess Silver

This was never going to work.  Accusations were flying, and nobody seemed willing to finish out a vote.  

"I am not going to vote against Lord Indigo.  I suspected him myself for a while, but now I think otherwise.  Meanwhile, could we please finish our discussion of Miss Rose over there?  I'm afraid the lights might go out again soon."

Lord Indigo

"Hmm? It's called an educated guess?" Indigo replied dismissively, while inspecting some nearby curtains. Perhaps they would do. Anyway, he might have tried defending himself, but there wasn't much to defend from? He saw a stab wound on that poor woman. Should he have expected that a bazooka was responsible?

It's not as if he trusted Madame Mauve, but this whole thing now seemed to him something out of a mystery novel. And if it's anything like that, with such an attitude, she would be the most likely to be the rotten one here.

Which is why he thought maybe she wasn't. It was just too obvious.

"Anyway, if we decide that we'd rather restrain someone for a little while, to be a bit safer, those curtains should do the trick," he pointed.

Mademoiselle Rose

She did not like what Lord Indigo was insinuating. Mademoiselle Rose certainly couldn't be considered a very intelligent or clever person, in general, but the other man had made enough comments now that she was able to piece together that he didn't like her and he felt it would be appropriate physically restrain someone in their group. She glared at him, still pouting.

Rose was really more of a pacifist, or maybe just passive, but if anyone thought they were going to touch her she wasn't about to let them! Didn't they know how expensive her body lotion was? And how delicate her beautiful dress?

She didn't like that Princess Silver kept wanting to talk about her. What else was there to say? She wasn't involved in any of this! Madame Mauve mentioned Lord Indigo—she was tempted to second that, if only because after how terrible and mean he had been to her Mademoiselle Rose just didn't like him at all.

Princess Silver

And of course, the lights were out again.  She had known that would happen sooner or later, with all this inactivity.  And the murderers were still loose.  She wanted to scream in frustration.

Turning to the one she found most reliable - or at least most interested in finding a solution - she said, "Lord Indigo, maybe there's a clue in the Table Games Room..." 

After what happened last time, she just wanted to get out of the Main Hall as soon as possible - and not with Rose or Mauve.

Lord Indigo

"Alright then," he simply replied to the young princess. Choice of place did not particularly matter to him - he had no idea where they might be able to find anything of use. Here's hoping to a lucky pick?

Mademoiselle Rose

The lights were out again and of course Lord Stupid-pants and Princess Follows-him-everywhere were paired up. They were even going into the room she wanted to look at last time, Table Games! Was this going to end like last time?

"Does anyone want to look at... um... Blackjack?" she asked, feeling pretty sure that she was going to have to go... alone.

This really was the worst party.

Miss Sapphire

Once again, the lights were out. Sapphire didn't even react this time. Silver and Indigo were going off together this time, so any chance of being partners with this two was out. 

Then she heard Mademoiselle Rose's inquiry. Eh, someone should probably keep an eye on her, since she was either a murderer or just very unaware of her surroundings. "Sure, I'll go with you," Sapphire replied, giving Rose a smile. Not that sue could see it in this darkness or anything.

Mademoiselle Rose

Her attitude perked up a bit when Miss Sapphire agreed to go with her.

"Really? Yay!" she replied, rebounding quickly from her earlier dismay. She was looking forward to seeing the Blackjack room! Maybe they'd find something pretty!

Madame Mauve

Madame Mauve let out a small, "Hmph," at being left as one of the last in the hall. "Rather like being the last for dodgeball!" she harrumphed. "Nasty sport, regardless!" She turned to Chancellor Crimson. "If we must do this absurd pairing off, then you shall have to do! To the poker tables!" And thus, she trudged off without looking behind her.

Chancellor Crimson
Chancellor crimson was still rather beside himself. It came as no surprise to him that anyone even checked to see if he was alright after his rather embarrassing outburst of screams-he was a stranger. Why would they? He always wanted to feel bigger-to hang out and possibly mingle with the big shots-and he had stupidly thought that this visit would present that opportunity to him. 

He had never felt so small. 

Mauve's distinguishing banter calling his name bolted him out of his thoughts. It appears they were paring off again. At least he wouldn't be with Rose. He followed her to the poker tables rather timidly. He looked behind him at Sapphire, who now had the ever-suspicious Rose tailing behind her. 

"Do you think Sapphire will be alright?" He asked once he caught up.

The lights come back and everyone gathers once more together, a habit now more than anything. But... one amongst your number seems to be missing.

A quick search finds poor Princess Silver knocked out cold, the side of her face having hit the sharp corner of a table. She seems alive, but no attempts at waking her are successful. There are only a few of you left now, and things are becoming dire...

Lord Indigo

Such a cruel twist of fate.

The young princess was the one he knew that he could trust in this messed up situation. She was the one that he had to protect at all costs, which was why he had rejected Rose's invitation to search together in the first place, back then.

But her fall was what caused him to turn and see the two shadowy culprits lunge at him, barely jumping out of their way. Unfortunately they retreated before he could have a go at them himself.

He supposed it was her who kept him safe in the end...? Hopefully she would be alright.

"She seems alright for now, but will probably need medical attention..." he informed the group. "But we should get to the point. We need to figure out who's responsible for this situation before we're outnumbered. Has anyone found anything? All I've come across was a piece of red fabric. That may belong to a certain one of us, and I don't seem to recall Mr. Crimson going to the Table Rooms while the lights were on..."

He had thought it before. This is almost like a mystery novel. In typical plot twist fashion, if the scaredycat of the group was not the murderer, who would it be?

Miss Sapphire 

Sapphire had barely gotten to the Blackjack room when the lights came back on and she rushed back to the Main Hall. When she saw Princess Silver on the floor unconscious, she let out a little shriek. She'd been the closet she'd made to a friend here, and now she was hurt. Well, at least she knew now she wasn't the killer. She started getting choked up, but attempted to hold herself together. 

Then, Lord Indigo suggested that Chancellor Crimson might be responsible. Sapphire still didn't completely trust him-after all, it was entirely possible that he'd been the one to knock Silver out since they'd been partners-but there wasn't much of anyone left she could. And knocking your partner out was a little too obvious, right? And he seemed to smart to do something like that. "Yeah, I think I agree. Chancellor Crimson seems to be a likely culprit."

Chancellor Crimson
Crimson never made it to the Poker Room. One moment, he was looking at Miss Mauve's back, and had mentioned concern regarding who Rose was following. The next, poor Princess Silver had been knocked out cold-and some were starting to point the finger at him. Crimson could only gawk in disbelief for a few moments before managing to muster up some courage to address the horrible accusations. 

"How on earth could I have done this if I had my back turned?" He immediately looked to Madam Mauve for support. "I was talking with you mere moments before it happened! Besides, we were on our way to the poker rooms! Unless I somehow managed to gain the speed of a cheetah-how could I have gone there and back so quickly?"

Tears beaded in the corners of his eyes. How much more of a nightmare was this going to become? He could only hope that others would see his innocence.

It was then that a horrible idea struck him, and it made him shiver at the thought. But the dots were connecting the more he thought about it. He cleared his throat and began to speak once more. 

"You were with her, Indigo. How are we so sure that you didn't just make the story up to cover your innocence? Weren't you the first one to point fingers at Rose as well?" Crimsons mind continued to race as he placed a hand to his chest in an attempt to try to calm himself. 

"You were also quite chatty with Emerald right before his death as well as with Lady Leeks! You've always been the first to take charge, the first to split up, the first to do, well, anything!" Crimson managed to shout that last part, as he struck an arm out for emphasis. 

"Why is that? Why do you always seem so calm? None of this bothered you! How are we so sure you were even going to share those clues you would have found with us, and you weren't scoping out for things you may have left behind? When you were going to those rooms earlier this evening-how you weren't looking for possible ways to lure someone to their untimely demise?"

Lord Indigo

"Because I wouldn't need to do any of this," he calmly replied. "I would just sit back, avoid attention as much as possible, and slowly pick you off one by one. Things were getting nowhere, there just was no need to stir it up. It was exactly what I would have wanted."

"The clue? I had figured out the princess was innocent. Which was why we paired up the last two times. For her safety I thought it better if the others did not know yet, but that didn't change much in the end..." he trailed off.

"I'll admit I had nothing concrete against Rose - we just needed to get a discussion started, plus she had to understand the gravity of the situation. So unless someone else has found anything of significance... I have to go by what I found."
