Matilda is not a terribly large cat, weighing approximately seven pounds. She is black-striped over brown and tan tones, with a particularly thick black stripe down her back. She is a domestic shorthair. Her eyes are green. She wears a red collar with a Star Wars quote and a black tag with her name. Due to chronic illness, she often wears a "Comfy Cone" Elizabethan collar to prevent her from rubbing her sensitive eyes.

Additional Information: Along with another kitten named Willow, Matilda was adopted by a sweet old lady who was very sick, and spent the first year of her life providing amusement and comfort. When the woman died of cancer, her husband kept the cats for an additional four years, and they kept him company in a house that would otherwise have been empty. Unfortunately, at that point illness prevented him from caring for the cats. Due to a misunderstanding, the cats were surrendered to a shelter by another relative. Willow found a new home, but Matilda did not. Approximately two months later, the granddaughter of her original owners found and adopted her from the shelter.

Despite having been almost invisible when she lived with the elderly couple, Matilda constantly seeks attention from her new people. She wants nothing more than to be pet while she can knead them and to smoosh her face against their faces. When frightened, she hides under the bed. Matilda understands that the boy human will let her do anything if she makes sad sounds, but the girl human has no pity. She still wants attention from both of them as much as possible.

Her time in the shelter resulted in a variety of medical conditions that Matilda still suffers from. Due to this, she often wears a cone, which causes instant sorrow. She is not very adept at maneuvering in it. She mopes about when wearing it, particularly because it prevents her from doing her very favourite thing—rubbing her face against the faces of her humans. Sometimes they add to the humiliation with rubbery little caps to cover her claws, since she can't see the scratching boards with the cone on and thus doesn't use them. Matilda does not fit under the bed when so encumbered, and must sadly sleep on top of the bed instead of under it. She also can't get on the kitchen chairs. It is a life of misery.
 
RP Sample: She stayed very still from her curled-up position on the bed, lids lowered so that the young man would think she still napped. She could feel the vibrations as he repeatedly crossed the floor of the small apartment, picking up his headphones and then remembering his wedding ring only as he was about to step out the door. She tried to regulate her breathing, keeping it even. Her ears did not eagerly swivel to catch each sound, even if she wanted them to. She had to remain patient.

"Bye, little spice'ms!" called the familiar voice, and then she heard the door close and the deadbolt click into place.

Now the feline perked up, stretching for a moment, bopping the obnoxious cone into the covers. She wrinkled her nose and tried to give it a shake, but it didn't settle the darn thing into a more comfortable place. The tabby hopped down from the bed, feeling the security of carpet beneath her feet, and padded over to the narrow space that the mysterious black cat had showed her would lead to their control center. It was difficult to wedge even the soft, padded fabric of the satellite dish-esque collar between the wall and stove, but she managed somehow.

Hopefully she wouldn't be too late. They had to understand that she needed the human to leave first.
