Personality Traits:
Makoa is mostly known for his tardiness. He isn't late on purpose. It just happens. He accidentally sleeps through his alarm. He isn't particularly attentive to his watch and even when he sets his alarm on his watch, he doesn't hear it! His belated arrival to places have often costed him. For the past two years, he has attempted to start his journey as a Pokémon trainer, but he's always arrived too late to claim a Pokémon. This year, he's putting forth his greatest effort to arrive in time to claim a Pokémon and begin his journey as a Pokémon trainer.

Despite his tendency to always be late, Makoa is an extremely driven individual doesn't allow himself to be hindered by his mishaps. He is also extremely gracious and forgiving, allowing teasing to roll of his back like water off of a duck's back. He usually just smiles and continues on his way. He's a curious individual and likes to do his research about the different types of Pokémon.

He was late again, but this event was by far the most important event of his life! He was going to become a Pokémon trainer and he needed to arrive in time to claim his Pokémon before they were all gone. In the past two years, Makoa had missed his chance. He had slept in too late and all of the Pokémon were gone. This year couldn't be like the previous two years. He wouldn't allow it!

Makoa’s shoes beat against the concrete as he ran, skidding around the corner, before pushing himself to run even faster. I will make it this year! he told himself.

He saw the professor's lab just ahead. A grin spread across his face as he came to the door. He pushed it open, barely slowing himself, and went inside. He stopped dead as he saw the other trainers and Professor Maple stop their conversation and stare at him. The other trainers looked slightly either annoyed or surprised by his sudden appearance. Professor Maple merely looked amused (but pleased nonetheless).

“Glad you could join us, Makoa,” she said in greeting as she gestured for him to join them.

Makoa, still panting from his run to the lab, straightened himself and offered the professor a big grin. There were still Pokémon waiting to be claimed! He was going to start his journey as a trainer this year! Yes!
