She settled on the Moon and established a home for herself, but the Solar System around her was less than welcoming to her idea of a unified group. At first, she was completely ignored. The inner planets were in political and social disarray with each other, barely managing to keep from an all out war. Mercury is strict and organized to the last letter, focused on it's own booming technology behind solid metal doors underneath their planet's icy exterior. Venus is a fallen paradise, a crime ridden, war torn desert with the occasional oasis for the rich and powerful to shelter in. Mars is a closed off, disciplined planet ruled by military lords and advised by their spiritual monks and priestesses. And Jupiter is a raging empire bent on constant expansion through intimidation and force. Earth is still too primitive to even realize that life existed beyond its own atmosphere. The Outer planets are considered almost mythical, so far out and silent that they don't seem to exist. But beyond the interplanetary tensions, there is communication and trade. The average citizens go about their business as well as they can, oblivious to the changes that are about to occur. The Solar System has been and will always be in a chaotic state. Living her life as a space pirate, Amara lived in more or less good conditions and always had it all to herself. However, this changes once she gets to know people from different planets. Despite being aware of the conflicts between the planets, they slowly start to get used to each other until eventually also a deep bond emerges. Together, the group now flies through the galaxy, trying to get new experiences and to live life to the fullest - something that isn't too familiar for Amara. Hence she tries to enjoy it as long as possible and ignores the disarray completely. Additional Information: - Living situation on Venus:
Venus is a monarchy, the home of the royal family, however, located in an isolated, well-protected castle, far away from the rest of the population of Venus. Hence, the royal family is more or less powerless, the districs of Venus rather ruled by the rich of the society than by an executive authority. Mid-range and underclass are oppressed, the already few resources mostly only going to the rich. And not only that the royal family is too far away from civilization to rule the planet - no - the police, the actual arm of the law, is also either venal or indifferent about crimes and rule breakers.
This is also the reason for the great crime rate on Venus. People fight for the small amounts of water, food and land, the poor starting revolts against the rich over and over again. The only thing that keeps the planet together is the old oasis, the only thing on the rocky desert planet that has some sort of structure in it and a pretty low crime rate - according to the circumstances, that is.
The only industrial thing that seems to work is the arms factory. However, because of the small amount of metal and minerals, the people on Venus mostly produce laser based firearms, swords or chains with many things also imported from other planets.
- Living situation for Amara:
Born in poverty, Amara grew up as an orphan, her family passed away already years ago due to the lack of medicine and food. At the beginning she was helpless - insecure and doubtful if she could survive at all - later, however, she started taking action to safeguard her future, stealing clothes and food from the rich of her district and starting to revolt against the upperclass.
Eventually, she even became leader of the most popular resistance group among the underclass, her views and opinions mostly shared by the others and her plans often implemented.
However, at some point, things started to get out of control. Amara's hatred for the rich grew and grew, the thieveries turning into attacks and the protests turning into acts of violence. At the end the revolts reached its climax and Amara made an attempt on the head's life.
To her sadness she was unsuccessful. And not only that - she got captured by the rich and carted off.
At first they wanted to kill her, kill the symbol of revolt. However, only shortly afterwards they changed their mind, knowing that it would only cause more riots and more thieveries, so that - at the end - they would have more problems than they already had.
So instead, in order to get rid of her, a few of them entered a space ship with her, aiming for the asteroid belt and trying to sell on the interstellar slave trade.
But once in space, there was one thing they hadn't reckoned with: Getting attacked.
Despite being bound in chains and captured in a cave at the very end of the ship, Amara managed to free herself and kill all on board, eventually taking over the whole ship.
Ever since then, Amara never returned to Venus. She knew things would get tough if she would get captured again; she knew she would get killed the next time the upperclass of Venus would find her.
So instead, Amara stayed on the ship and became a space pirate, the only times she left the ship being the times when she needed to fuel or steal some new groceries from other ships.
RP Sample: "Foods and money. Now." With the sword hidden in the scabbard on her back and the 12-gauge shotgun in her right hand, Amara stood in front of the defeated merchants, the control center of their ship already destroyed thanks to the initial resistance they offered at the beginning. Their eyes started to well up, their bodies shivered - worry could be seen even from several miles away. Yes, they were afraid - afraid of what was about to happen, afraid to lose their lives. Perfect.
Amara grinned as her eyes met the desperate looks of her opponents, as she saw the beads of sweat emerging on their foreheads. It surely was amusing to watch those cowards surrender. "Will you hurry up?," she spoke up after a while, lending weight to her former instruction by using the rather imperious vocal organ of hers. "I won't say it twice."
