Yep! Anytime we get asked if we want a coke, generally it means we are asking if you want a soda, but a lot of times since coke is more popular down here, people actually just have Cokes. xD And try listening to an actual Cajun with a thick Cajun accent speak...you'll never understand them. I live down here and I could barely understand the guy! I KNOW They were speaking some form of english but I could def not understand it. xD - Eternal Knight wrote:

Mamere and Papere -> Grandmother and grandfather? Yep!! - Cosmos-Hime wrote:

Am I a cheater? Maaaybe. And actually Nanan/Nanny is meant for your Godmother who doesn't necessarily have to be your aunt (mine just so happens to be my aunt as well and I call her Nanny. ) And down the bayou can just generally mean own south in the state like further south than you and me. haha! - StarlightSlayer wrote:

Love it. I think in general around here getting down is in reference to getting out of the car. xD I remember the first time my fiance said it to me and I was like "....and boogie???" Only one you got wrong was Nanan/Nanny, since that refers to your godmother. I dunno if this is sad or what but i want to translate "Go fix you a plate" as "go fix your plate of food" which...doesn't not translate it at all. I legit almost only hear people say that when it comes to making you a plate of food. |

| I know this one!
"•laissez les bon temps roulez" - Let the good times roll! Sort of like a YOLO LOL
And this one, I had a southern friend who used to say this one a lot:
"I'm was just fixin' to!" - This means I was just about to do something. Often used when someone is giving you hell for not doing some chore or other. LOL |
