| I'd like to hear your opinion(s) on the short series Naoko Takeuchi created, Codename: Sailor V!
- Disagreements and agreements
- What part would you change in the manga?
- The best/worst part....
- Were you excited that it was translated?
- Did you like it as much as the Sailor Moon manga?
- If you were Naoko Takeuchi, would you expand Sailor V into a huge series?
- .... etc!
I loved the series, but I just wished that Naoko-sensei would make the series larger! It wasn't big enough to show a part where Minako destroys the Dark Agency. ------------------------------------------------------ Everything was happening too quickly! Artemis meets Minako, Minako turns into Sailor V and fights the Dark Agency, then fights the Phantom Ace, then turns into Sailor Venus and goes off finding her allies. Bah, it was kind of reading a sentence, but it took me quite awhile to read 2 of them! Okay that's just a little bit of my opinions, now it's your turn (: |

| Remember there was massive time length in between acts for Sailor V.... so much that Sailor V ended up finishing after Sailor Moon I believe...
[spoiler alert please stop reading]:
{Minako pretty much did destroy the Dark Agency, it was just a branch of the Dark Kingdom, and one person alone couldn't destroy something like that}
I don't think Sailor V should have been expanded, or else we would of never had Sailor Moon X3
I Love Sailor V :3 i love the one where she doesn't want to donate blood X3

Yeah that is true about spoiler part! (: I really like that part, too! I also liked the one in volume 1 where Minako really liked this guy with long (lol I forgot his name!) hair. He kind of looked like Kunzite~ |

| Do you mean Saitou? There is some suggestion he is really Kunzite ._.
I mean after all Kunzite's (pronunced Kun-sai-tou) he even takes on the alias "Saitou Kun" in some versions of the series... In a musical Minako even sings a song called "Namikimichi no Koi" about a love she never experienced (the title of the chapter in which Saitou appears is called "Namikimichi no Koi - Turbo Zenkai Baribari! Hen) and then she swoons for a reincarnated Kunzite almost immediately after... o_o |

Please enjoy Nana Suzuki perform Namikimichi no Koi in the very first myu production... in their Wizard of Oz-esque costumes, they weren't such great fashion choices early on ._. but nice singing ^^ and you can see Saitou Kun just over there |

| Even though I haven't finish Sailor V I love it more than the Sailor Moon manga. Don't get me wrong I adore the Sailor Moon manga, but there is something about the Sailor V manga that makes me love it more. It has a charm to it. |

| I've greatly enjoyed what I read so far from the first four chapters of the Sailor V manga. The story behind how Minako got her bow is a bit more sad and tragic than I would have guessed and I like the origin behind the Sailor V game. I do agree that the pacing is a bit fast but that seems to be a problem all the manga face. You barely have any real time to stop and breathe. I don't know if I would make it longer, it probably works best exactly as it is. A short prelude to what's to come in Sailor Moon. |

| I love how more upbeat the Sailor V manga feels. Its a nice break from the SM manga, just because there are times where the SM manga feels a lot more drama/plot based. The Sailor V manga starts out making you think its just happy funtime Minako adventures, but then just takes you for a whirl in the last volume.
So basically: LOVE the Sailor V manga. I'm gunna read it again once I get through my SM manga reread. ^_^ |

| Man, Sailor V was just so fun and lighthearted! I mean, of course Sailor Moon was as well but there was more drama in Sailor Moon, I guess. I mean, Minako meant to go to Hawaii, and then she's just in Greece. With no problems XD I thought the manga it was cute and funny but just like Sailor Moon, it just went so fast |

| I rather enjoyed it, it was fun and upbeat, and made for a rather nice change of pace from Sailor Moon. Then the whole idea of an evil organization that uses idols to brainwash the public is a pretty amusing (considering japan and its obsession with idols). But I just have a feeling that if Sailor Moon didn't exist and/or Sailor V wasn't trying to tie into it, and be its own separate continuity, it could have been even better.
That was the impression I got when I read it the first time around anyways.
...now theres an interesting thought, what would have happened if Sailor V became the hit and Sailor Moon didn't exist? |

| I think Sailor V is a very interesting manga series. It feels more like a classic western superhero comic than a magical girl series at points, with the enemies of the day, the expanding abilites, cool gadgets, and the humor it uses. It's refreshing after reading the more dramatic Sailor Moon. |

| i think you just can enjoy sailor v if you enjoyed the SM main series. i really love minako she's my favorite out of all senshi BUT the sailor v manga lacks real plot. it was just a shitloud of fillerlike monster of the day things and then when the story already seems to really start it was over |

| That's due to the fact that Naoko was switching over to the Sailor Moon manga so Sailor V's ending seems kind of rushed.
I honestly like Sailor V manga over the Sailor Moon manga. Minako was fleshed out quite well and things were a bit slower pace until the end. To me Naoko is better at writing stories with fewer characters. |

thats not really what i mean. i mean most part of the manga feels just like fillers and where just the same. similiar to filler in anime. nothing really happend. and then when it finally feels like the real story started and not just monster of the day it was over. i like Sailor V because i like SM but it's nothing you can hand over to an average animefan who also not read and/or watched SM before and say "here you have this really interessting manga". most of them would find this pointless and boring. it's more like bonus for the moonies even if it was originally created/started before SM hope you get what i tried to say... |

But I feel like people who haven't seen Sailor Moon could still enjoy it. Magical girls series are known for monster of day type things. |

Yes it does, inbetween the action and comedy, it builds to something more dramatic towards the end, and Venus is a surprisingly deep character when she's the main focus. And I disagree with the sentiment that the Sailor V Manga is mostly pointless filler. Hidden behind the monster of the week format, Minako gets more mature and skilled with her new powers. And if you pay attention to each enemy that is defeated, it's all a slow build to the true boss in the shadows. It's less of a bonus story and more of a prequel to Sailor Moon. The end makes you eager to keep reading on and see what happens to Venus. |

| I liked Codename: Sailor V, but I felt it was repetitve and filler-y. You could tell that Naoko-sensei was testing the waters, so to speak, and was trying to figure out if this would work or not. I also see elements of this is the early arcs of Sailor Moon, from the first arc to probably the fifth or so. Another thing I noticed was how similar some of the acts were to the filler episodes of the Sailor Moon anime. Overall, it was a good introduction, but if someone came to me and asked if they should read Codename: Sailor V or Sailor Moon first, I'd say Sailor Moon, to be honest, because there are spoilers for the first arc of Sailor Moon in it. |

| I was excited about Sailor V getting a translation! I hadn't read it before so I was excited to see what goes in in the prequel. Honestly though? I found it a bit boring and forgettable.... ;_; Then again, Minako is my least favorite of the inner senshi. |

| Honestly I found this more enjoyable than the Sailor Moon manga. Naoko is better at focusing on a few characters than like ten. Minako really shines in this and each chapter is important. It shows how she grows as a person and a senshi. |

| ^I agree with Yami. Codename Sailor V is way more interesting than the Sailor Moon manga. I guess it's because Minako is a better heroine than Usagi. She acted way more like a person than a soldier of justice. Usagi's like this but that's only before her awakening as Princess Serenity. After, she starts to literally become the princess, with not much trace of Usagi.
I also like how Minako is hesitant over killing Phantom Ace. She loves him but her duty has to come first, and the reaction she has is heartbreaking. But she still manages to move past it and search for her fellow Senshi. Whereas with Usagi, the minute she kills Evil!Endymion, she turns around and commits suicide.
And yeah, since there are less characters in C:SV, everyone gets a moment to shine. |
