Advanced Character Profile
Character Name: (Queen) Beryl
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: Appears 27 / October 27th
Used Canons: 90s Anime and Manga
Appearance: When Beryl was a mere Terran maiden, her hair was long, wavy, and a deep red color. Her eyes were big, curious, and an odd, deep purple color. Beryl's skin was fair, and she got sunburned easily when outside for too long. She was not very tall, standing at a short 5'4". Her body was in good shape, not too thick, not too thin, with respectable curves. Being the daughter of a lord, Beryl would typically wear gowns that were in between the definitions of plain and fancy. Purple was her favorite color, and she would never wear a dress that was shorter than her knees. She likes gowns that have low necklines and cling to her body, flaunting her curves. Despite liking to look sophisticated, Beryl hates wearing heels and prefers sandals instead.
After being possessed by Metalia's great power, Beryl's eyes became red and sinister, and any modesty she had went down the drain. Her sense of style became much more edgy and racy, with her signature purple gown that had a deep neckline and no sleeves. Her height increased to an impossible 6'5". Her presence is more sinister and cold, which is a result of the darkness that now plagues her body. Her voice also gets a couple octaves deeper and louder, which gives her more intimidation.
Personality: Even before being corrupted by Metalia, Beryl was always very obedient and disciplined. She knew who had authority over her and who didn't, and she always acted based on those facts. Patience was not one of her strong suits, but Beryl was always very grateful for the things she had and the position she had grown up in. As the daughter of a lord, Beryl carried herself with maturity and dignity, refusing to let others bring her down. She was always up for a challenge, and getting what she wanted was her favorite thing. Although being rather spoiled as a child, Beryl knew how to fight for what she wanted, and she would never hesitate to do so. She does not like children (she hates them) or other women, but prefers to put her focus on men. Finding a wealthy man to marry who also happened to be in a position power was always Beryl's number one goal. She tends to get very competitive, and she has severe jealousy problems.
After being corrupted by Metalia, Beryl became cold-hearted and almost without a personality. She had a lust for power, and nothing but darkness plagued her. She was set on one goal and one goal only: total domination. She took joy in making others suffer, and the more power she received, the more she craved. Beryl became extremely bossy, and everyone knew it would be a death-sentence to cross her. She does not accept failure or excuses - all she wants is success. She became willing to go to any means necessary, even murder, to achieve her goals. Double-crossing was not a problem for her - in fact, she planned on doing it to Metalia. Any positive factors to her personality were completely wiped away.
History: During the Silver Millennium, Beryl lived with her father and his many servants in their small castle located a few provinces away from the Endymion's palace. She grew up without a mother, but being the daughter of a lord made up for that. She always got what she wanted, and she was brought up to be assertive and persistent. All her life, she had dreamed of making Endymion, Prince of Earth, fall in love with her. Beryl's feelings were so passionate and strong that when Endymion fell in love with Princess Serenity, it filled her with an immeasurable amount of rage and anger. In her fury, Beryl came across the dark Queen Metalia, who offered her a chance at revenge. Hastily accepting, Beryl quickly rose in power, gaining magical abilities and the confidence to lead an entire army. With her sinister tongue, Beryl convinced thousands of Terran citizens that the people of the moon were out to get them. In just days, she had accumulated an army of angry Terrans so large that it would be able to take down the moon easily. Her final step was to turn Endymion's shittenou against him, which she managed to do thanks to Metalia's dark power. Army completed, Beryl launched her attack against the moon. All of its citizens were killed, including King Endymion and Prince Serenity. Unfortunately for Beryl, Queen Serenity used her Silver Crystal to seal her away 'forever'.
A thousand years later, Beryl broke out of her seal and traveled to Earth, making her lair on Earth in a place called D Point. She had Metalia, the shittenou, and many youma with her. Soon, they were able to begin attacking Earth in what was then known as the 20th century. Their goal was to find the Silver Crystal and use it to take over the planet. After losing three of her shittenou against the reincarnated sailor senshi, Beryl managed to brainwash Prince Endymion into turning against Sailor Moon (the present-day Moon Princess). In a final battle, Sailor Moon and Endymion worked together to defeat Beryl, and she was destroyed.
Other Noteworthy Facts: Beryl has a vast knowledge in sorcery, and the abilities given to her by Metalia only made her magic abilities stronger. These abilities include using dark energy to perform numerous actions, specifically brainwashing and causing extreme pain. Beryl's favorite way to use this energy is in the form of electricity.
Storyline Specific Information:
Light and Darkness - At a request from the King and Queen of Earth, Beryl is sent to the royal palace to meet Prince Endymion. With luck, she can convince him to marry her and take her as his queen. Unfortunately for her, a young girl by the name of Serenity is standing in her way.
RP Sample: Why did getting what she wanted have to be so hard? All Beryl desired, all she
needed was for someone to truly love her. Not in the way her father did, but in the way Endymion loved that rotten princess from the moon. Beryl had him first - so why was it okay for that little brat to waltz right in and take him from her?
It was not okay.
Infused with blind rage, Beryl found her path to revenge. All she had to do was turn the people of Earth against the people of the moon, and soon it would all be over. Endymion would be hers, Serenity and the moon freaks would be gone, and all would be right again.
And so Beryl continued to scream her lies at the top of her lungs, gathering the Terran people's attention as she stood on a table in the middle of a village. "The people of the moon are infused with that goddess Selene! Do you all not recall the fateful day when Selene fell upon us, drawing an eternal sleep upon the first prince of Earth? Who is to say that their new queen, Serenity, and their princess will not do the same to our prince? We must stand and fight against them, before they take away the planet that we all hold so dear! Your wives, your children, your homes, everything will be taken under control by the Lunarians! We must not allow this to happen!"
The faces staring up at Beryl were starting to twist with worry and anger, and she knew her words were having an effect. Smirking, the red-haired woman held her hands up, watching in glee as the brainwashing black energy seeped out of her hands and into the bodies of her audience. Their pupils became large, bloodthirsty, and wild. Immediately, chaos began to erupt as the men and women fought for weapons and rushed to find a mode of transportation to the moon. As Beryl sat back and watched, she noticed one person who was not effected by her magic. Glaring, Beryl stormed over to the little girl, grabbing her by the shoulders and staring deep into her eyes. "Why aren't you joining your friends and family?" Beryl hissed.
The girl, with tears in her eyes, stared right back at the evil woman. "I don't want to hurt the moon princess. I heard...she's...the prettiest, nicest girl in the universe," she whimpered.
Beryl froze. It was clear the Lunar people had had an effect on this child. Perhaps she was Lunarian herself? No matter - she was just a child. A useless, whining, ignorant little girl.
And so Beryl killed her and walked away.
