Plot Summary: 
Four sons from Nobel men were picked by the Earth King to be the guardians to his son Prince Endymion. When the sons became of age, their fathers sent them to live with the prince. They eat, sleep, study, and train together. Unfortunately the five young boys don't see eye to eye. Then one day a moon conspirator, Selena kidnaps Endymion and holds him for ransom. One of the sons, Kunzite takes charge and leads the three other sons to rescue their prince. Throughout their journey they learn to see eye to eye and form an unbreakable bond. Can they rescue him before it's too late?  


Details on any necessary information:  This RP will explore the relationships between Endymion and the Shitennou. It begins with them meeting for the first time and will have a go to the flow narrative. Their first big task is to rescue Endymion from Selena. After that, the players can make up new adventures for them to go on. The RP will end when the Shitennou become Endymion's official guardians which is right before Serenity comes to Earth.

He had waited his entire life for this moment, and now he was finally walking through the gates to the Terran Palace. In just a short while, Kunzite would be accepting his duty as a shittenou-in-training, and he would officially start training to protect the prince. The trials he had to go through to get to this point were exhausting and extensive, but in each one he had thrived and showed his talent. His father was a commander in the Terran army, so Kunzite had practically grown up learning combat and practicing with a blade. The sword that now hung from his hip was one his father had gifted him hours before, sending him off with a proud smile. 

As a boy, Kunzite had been into the Terran castle quite a few times. Being a commander, his father would often be forced to bring Kunzite with him whenever he had to speak with the royal family. His family name held a high reputation and regard, but Kunzite knew that would not be enough to earn his permanent spot as a shittenou. He had vowed to work hard and push himself past the limit to serve the royal family just as diligently as his father had.

He knew the path to the throne room by heart. He had never forgotten it - not since the day he was escorted there by royal guards when his father had been injured in battle. The path was permanently etched into his brain, and he walked it as if he had done it a thousand times.

Maintaining his square shoulders and straight spine, Kunzite entered the throne room of the Terran royal family. He could see the king and queen sitting regally upon their thrones, and their son was standing beside the king. Prince Endymion - the boy who was just a couple years younger than Kunzite, and the boy he had seen on a few occasions in the village and on his trips to the castle. Instead of smiling in a friendly manner, Kunzite kept his face serious and bowed respectfully, bending at the waist with his right arm pulled to his abdomen. Just like his father taught him.

"Your majesties, it is an honor to be in your presence. I assure you, I will not disappoint," Kunzite said, his deep voice showing his maturity. Glancing around him, there didn't seem to be any other trainees here. Surely he was not the only one, right? There had been many trials in all of the villages in their country, so there had to be at least a few more men who were selected. Kunzite didn't care much if he ended up being the only man to be selected. He wasn't here to make friends or get along with anybody - he was here to serve the royal family and make his father proud.

"Tuck in your shirt," said a man as he rushed down a hallway with his son.

"Yes, father," spoke the son rolling his eyes as he walked behind his father. He looked down at his shirt and fixed it to his father standards. 

"Make sure your hair is neat."

"Father!" the son spoke in annoyed voice. "I am presentable for the Royal Court. Will you just calm down?"

"Sorry, Jadeite," the man spoke. "My nerves are getting to me. I still can't believe the king picked a blacksmith's son to be a future guardian for the prince."

"He likes your swords, father." He patted him on the shoulder. "The army uses them so it makes it sense for him to look at me."

Jadeite's father said nothing has they hurried down the hallway. They were a bit late due to a terrible a storm they encounter on their journey. As they approached the end of the hallway Jadeite saw giant french doors. Guards were standing there and opened the door for the two men. They walked in and saw the royal family standing before them. Jadeite took a small deep breath. He didn't want to admit that he was nervous. Like his father he was in shock that king took interest in him. He only met him once during a delivery to the castle. His father bragged that he was good at swordsmanship. So was that enough to meet the king's standards. They came to a stop and stood next to Kunzite and his father. The two man then bowed.

"Your majesties, I apologize for our late arrival. We encounter a bad storm along the way here," spoke Jadeite's father. He then glanced at his son motioning to greet the royal family.

"It is a great honor to take on the such an important role," the young blond spoke up. He then did another bow.




The two guards opened the door the throne room once again. Another man walked in with his son Zoisite. They walked over and stood next the others. They both take a bow and Zoisite greeted the royal family. He had a confident look on his face. He came from a noble family and the king was good friends with his father. Zoisite took pride in the fact that king picked him for this role. He noticed the other two trainees and analyzed them. He recognized Kunzite. He was the son of a commander. He saw him at royal gatherings, but never said a word to him. Kunzite was probably skilled in combat. Zoisite then glanced at Jadeite and made a small frown. He had no idea who this kid was. He looked like he came from the country. Why on Earth would the king pick a commoner? He'll just have to keep an eye on Jadeite. Maybe he was some kind of prodigy? Zoisite then chuckled at that thought.

Saying good-bye to his mother was hard, but Nephrite knew that where he was going would make it all worth the while. After years of hard work, Nephrite had made his way to the top of his village, and now he was heading to the Earth Palace to become a shittenou-in-training for the young prince Endymion. It was a great honor, and Nephrite would never forget the proud look in his mother's eyes when he told her. All his life, she had raised him to be a dignified, hard-working young man, and he was finally living up to that expectation. He worried for her, but the payment he would get while working in the palace would be enough for her to live comfortably without him. She had made him promise to return and visit her often, and he had made that promise eagerly, hoping that he wouldn't have to be away from her for too long. Ever since his father died, Nephrite had been the one to watch over her and protect her from harm, and not being with her made him nervous.

But he had to push that feeling aside, Nephrite told himself. He was about to start the next phase of his life, and it was important for him to be focused the entire time. He would make his father proud - he swore to it.

The Earth Palace was large and full of complex hallways, but after asking a few servants for help, Nephrite finally found the throne room. He stepped inside, immediately noticing three other men standing in front of the thrones. Were they the other men that had been chosen? As Nephrite approached them, he examined each one in turn. The tallest man had silver hair, and by the way he stood, he seemed to be the oldest and most experienced. There were two blonde men - one with an oddly feminine ponytail and the other with a boyish haircut. The one with the ponytail stood next to a wealthy-looking man, and it was clear by the look on the boy's face that he came from a higher class. The other blonde didn't give off any vibes that gave Nephrite any certain opinion of him just yet. Perhaps his personality and background would reveal itself later.

"Your royal highnesses, it is an honor to have been graced with this opportunity. I swear to do my best for as long as your needs shall require me." Nephrite bowed respectfully, taking his place beside the blonde man with the ponytail.

The king rose from his chair and extended his arms for a warm welcome. He was please by his selection and knew they would not disappoint. He gave a speech stating his gratitude and listing his expectations. He then told them they would go through training along with his son for three years. At the end of three years they would past a test to become full fledged knight and guardians of Endymion.  He then summoned two maids and order them to take the boys to their living quarters. 

"Endymion," the king spoke. "Please go with them. After they settle into their room I would like you to show them around."


"Yes, father," Endymion replied.

The maids then took the four boys out the throne and led them down a hallway. It was bit a walk, but they arrived to their room which was located in the East Wing of the palace. One of the maids opened the door and they went inside. The room was big and there were four poster beds. Two of each lined up on either side of the walls. On each side of the bed was a dresser. In the center of the room there were two couches and a coffee table. At the end of the room there was a huge window that over looked the gardens and the training grounds.

"Please make yourselves at home," spoke of one the maids. "Your belongs are currently being brought up. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask us or the any of the staff." The two maids then bowed to Endymion and walked out of the room.

Zoisite glanced around and was impressed with the room. He was hoping for his own seeing how he grew up as an only child. He walked over to one the beds that was near the window. The maid did say to make themselves at home. "If you don't mind I claim this bed. The name is Zoisite by the way." He looked back at the other boys.

Jadeite rolled his eyes. He had a feeling they were going to deal with a spoil brat. He crossed his arms. "I'm Jadeite." He didn't bother to say anything else. He hated people like Zoisite.

Kunzite listened intently to the king's speech, making sure to make a mental note of everything he said. All of the king's expectations were stored in a special box in Kunzite's mind. He was determined to live up to his father's legacy and not disappoint.

Silently, Kunzite followed the prince and the two maids. He was slightly disappointed to discover that all four of them would be sharing a room. Was it really so much to ask for individual rooms in a giant palace? It didn't matter too much, but the thought of staying in the same place as these younger men wasn't very appealing. 

"Kunzite," he said, nodding firmly to the two blondes. Judging by the look in Jadeite's eyes, he was not fond of Zoisite's attitude. To be completely honest, Kunzite wasn't either, but he didn't care. He wasn't here to make friends.

Endymion tried to glance at the four young men in his peripherals as they followed the maids to the chamber. They all seemed so stiff and formal. Of course, he was hardly surprised by this since most people in the kingdom put up solemn and formal airs when the royal family passed by. Still, if these young men were supposed to be his guards, they would have to know him better as well as each other.

He watched as disappointment quickly flashed across their faces before the facades returned when they realized it was one room for all four of them. He realized he should say something, but had no idea what could alleviate this tension.

"Welcome, all of you," he said with more authority than he felt, "It is a great honor to have you here as my imperial guard. I hope you make yourselves comfortable in the castle. Training begins tomorrow morning, please be prompt to breakfast in the dining room on the first floor. Any staff will be more than willing to assist in directions around the castle."

He paused for a moment and decided to add something a bit less formal. "Also, feel free to ask me any questions about the castle or anything else about life here. I hope this will become like a second home to you in time."

Kunzite gave Endymion his full attention, hanging onto his every word. He would definitely not be late for breakfast or training, but the thought of one of his fellow trainees needing directions amused him. It was at times like these when he was grateful for the trips to the palace with his father. As a child, they had annoyed him because he had to wake up early, but now he understood as an adult. Everything his father did for him, both good and bad, was to prepare him for the future.

"Thank you, your highness," Kunzite said, bowing to Endymion as he folded one arm across his chest.

Jadeite just nodded his head at Kunzite. He seem more mature than Zoisite  He glanced over had long brown headed boy. He seem rather quiet and Jadeite found it odd that he hasn't introduce himself. He shrugged it off. Why should he care? He wasn't planning to get close to these people. Becoming Endymion's guardian was top priority. He walked over the window and glanced out at the view. The training grounds seem decent. He wondered if they would be using his father's weapons.

He then heard Endymion speak up. Jadeite turned and gave him his full attention. He frown at the idea of getting up early for training. But was something he would have to get over. He just nodded his head.

"I thought your father said you were going to show us around?" Zoisite spoke up after Endymion finished speaking.  Jadeite glanced over at the blond. Did he really need a tour of the place? Just by his looks alone you could tell he came from nobility. His father probably bribe the king to give Zoisite a shot at becoming a guardian.

Throughout their walk, Nephrite silently observed the other three men. Kunzite was definitely the oldest and most mature, Jadeite seemed to get irritated easily, and Zoisite was...spoiled. Nephrite wasn't sure how long he could stand these guys. They were all different, and Jadeite and Zoisite already seemed to be too much of opposites to really get along. Kunzite kind of intimidated him, and so Nephrite judged if he would try to be friends with anyone, it would probably be Jadeite. 

Nephrite didn't know his way around the palace just yet, so he figured a tour would be a good way to get to know the other guys and the prince. "I think a tour of the palace would be helpful," he spoke up. "I'm Nephrite, by the way."

Endymion mentally chastised himself for mis-speaking when his father had instructed him to give them a tour. Were he not schooled in proper etiquette, he would have blushed or sighed. So far he was failing at inspiring a comfortable atmosphere for these young men, much less giving them reasons to protect him with their lives. Thankfully none of the others seemed to reflect Jadeite's annoyance.

When the quiet young man Nephrite finally spoke up, Endymion decided that he would seize upon this opportunity and also show them some shortcuts and secrets of which his father might not approve, but were very good for being punctual around the large castle.

"If you would all follow me please," he began, "I will show you the usual routes first but also point out some ways to save time, for your future benefit." He smiled as warmly as he could muster, trying to balance formality with trying to let them in on some secrets, as he made his way into the hall.

On the tour, Kunzite stayed near the prince, but not to an overbearing extent. He wanted the others to know that he was serious about all of this, and he wasn't going to slack off for a single second. Kunzite knew the castle's halls already, so the tour was pretty boring. He occupied himself by analyzing the posture and gait of each of his new accomplices. Nephrite's showed he was not from any high standing in society, for he walked without squaring his shoulders. Jadeite seemed to walk with a slouch, perhaps from hard labor? And it was clear Zoisite came from a high standing, since his back was just as stiff as Kunzite's. 

It was amazing the things you could learn just by making simple observations.

Endymion thanked them for their attention and informed them of the itinerary for the next day when he lead them back to their room as the completion of the tour. None of the four young men seemed to open up anymore despite his best attempts to show them shortcuts and secrets of the castle.

He bid them good day and left to reflect upon how to next proceed with them, under the guise of "attending to princely duties." He hoped that once they began training together and became more comfortable, both with each other and with him, they could work better as a unit. He was supposed to trust them with his life after all, and he mused that the best way for them to fulfill that duty would be to also care for the safety of each other.

He sighed sullenly in the library, staring out at the grounds as he entertained these thoughts.

Back in their quarters, Nephrite flopped onto his bed face down and breathed in his pillow's earthy scent. He missed the familiar warmth of home, the welcoming scent of fresh bread, and his mother's gentle smile. 

He was in no position to be getting homesick. These other guys probably were feeling right at home in this palace. Heaving a quiet sigh, Nephrite leaned up on his elbows and watched as Kunzite began to unpack his things. "So, are all of you from wealthy upbringing?" he asked, trying to break the silence. It wasn't too rude of a question, right? After all, no one could be as poor as he was.

When he returned to his room with the others, Jadeite was tempted to flop on his bed like the brown haired boy had, but he held himself back. He wanted to make his father proud, to  become a Shittennou and in order to do that, he needed to keep in good esteem with the others. It wouldn’t do for them to think he was lazy or not like him. Last thing he wanted was to be sent home to his father in shame.
 

When Nephrite asked Kunzite about being from a noble family, Jadeite perked up a bit. Did that mean that Nephrite like Jadeite was a commoner?

He had been silent during the whole tour, listening with attention, yes, but quite bored. He knew the palace. Probably not as much as Endymion, but surely more than the one he suspected to be no more than a simple commoner.

Once they were back into the room they shared, he still couldn't believe they weren't given a room each. He wasn't used to sharing his personal space and surely none of them would make his life easier. Kunzite seemed calm enough, serious and mature. He looked older. He doubted he would be the kind of people to nudge him too often or even to try talking to him. Good. He didn't need to befriend any of them. The sole person that needed to be alright with him was the prince. He would make his father proud. It wouldn't be hard very hard. He was good and perfect for this position. Even if he had wished to stay in his own castle instead of meddling with all of them.

At Nephrite's question, he snorted, sitting on his bed with a leg crossed over the other. His thumb was resting against his chin and he glanced at the other boy.

"I think it shows. Are you not?"

Useless question. Of course he wasn't. It showed just by the way he would throw himself on his bed.

Kunzite sat on his bed, bringing his foot up to rest on his knee so he could tighten the restraints on his boots. He glanced up at Nephrite at his question, but quickly returned back to his task. It was obvious that Zoisite was the only one of noble upbringing here, unless Jadeite was a good actor. At Zoisite's rude comment, Kunzite lowered his foot and leaned back, shooting a warning glare in Zoisite's direction. He wasn't about to stand for fighting between these men - especially if they were expected to work together. There was no time for childish bickering.

Feeling the need to at least stand up for Nephrite, Kunzite said, "I'm not. My father is the captain of the royal guard, but I don't live under noble standards."

Jadeite grinned to himself. Looks like he wasn’t the only one that was a commoner. A part of him relaxed. While the son of a noble guard was higher up on the food chain than Jadeite’s family was from, at least they had similar upbringings. He couldn’t help but wonder if Kunzite had previous weapons training from his father.
 

“Looks like you’re the only one that grew up wealthy. You’re stuck with us commoners,” he grinned at the blonde haired boy. He could only hope that he wasn’t going to turn out to be one of those stuck up nobles who thought they were better just because they were born into money.

He huffed at first, wrinkling his nose. All commoners then. Even though Kunzite ranked higher than the others - and seemed much more knowledgeable and capable - he still was left as the only one. Great. This was going to be the worst time of his life, he could tell, and yet, there was no way he could back down now. He would go through with it...

"As long as none of you betray this Kingdom to save mommy and daddy from whatever dangers being so poor and so easily manipulated come with."

He glanced at Kunzite, twirling a strand of hair around his index finger.

"Not that this will be a problem with you. At least your kind comes with honor. Usually."

Half a compliment. Half an insult.
