As the avatar of love and beauty, supposed that love came easily for her. They’d be wrong. She liked to boast from time to time to the contrary, the truth was Minako was only human and had to work at love, just like everyone else. Sometimes part of her wished it came easy to her, but then again, she’d lose interest without the challenge.

When people thought of Love, they thought of the fiery burning passion between new lovers or the simmering embers between those who had been together for some time. What people didn’t realize is that love comes in many shapes and sizes. That feeling in your chest when you see a friend after a long period of time apart. When your pet greets you at the door after a long day of work. The first time your child says “I love you”. That feeling you get when you would do anything to stop a friend’s pain. The love of a fine wine or deliciously sinful food. When your beloved pet snuggles with you.

Love, like anything else, takes work. This seems to be a key concept that many people forget, thinking that “oh, I’m in love, everything will work out.” However, it doesn’t. Perhaps that’s why divorce rates are so high in the west or why men in Japan don’t want to get into relationships, focusing rather on work. Sometimes Minako felt the pressure to set an example on love and relationships, being the avatar and all. Kunzite always told her that no one expected her to be perfect and that she just needed to be herself. After being together for close to a thousand years, she knew that communication was a crucial part of any relationship. Sure, they fought, their fights being legendary around Crystal Tokyo, but once they calmed down, they spoke about whatever the issue was. Minako smiled, leaning against the wall as Kunzite worked diligently on some report or another. She’d also learned over the years that making time to work on their relationship and continue to nurture that love.

“Common lover, why don’t you take a break and get dinner with me?”

"Don't worry.... I'll find you. I promise...." 


I keep dreaming of a mysterious girl, one in pink with her hair in a pair of buns. I don't know who she is. 

Time flows differently here. Or maybe I've never been aware of time's passing, as the years turn to centuries and millenniums, with me as the world's perpetual protector. 

I'm not lonely. I don't think immortality has any effect on me.... but I wish to find this girl. Even though I'm bound to Elysian. 

For once in my life, I wish to leave my duty and chase this dream. 

You shouldn't. Besides, how do you know that you're not a couple thousand years ahead of her? Or the other way around? 


So I wait, and the dreams keep coming. The world's destroyed.... and they're all that's left of the past.

They're here again. The situation from all of those years ago is occurring, and Elysian is dying and I can't do anything, my hands are tied again.... 

Again, all I'm left with is immorality and memory.... I search for her, this mysterious maiden as she chases me....  


Time isn't warping. Or at least I have to hope that time isn't changing it's flow, for the world's in shambles and all I can do is.... 

"....who are you?" she asks, staring at me. She's a woman wearing all pink.... the exact same girl in my dream. Or maybe this is her dream? 


"I'm.... I need you to help me.... please...." I answer, desperation rising in my voice, for that's the only think I can think of.... and the world's blurring around me as everything starts growing blacker and blacker.....

I open my eyes to peace. I don't know whose dream that was. 

It could've been mine. It could've been hers. It could've been both of ours, a shared dream out of desperation..... but I know I'll find her. 

"....yes, I will find you.... young maiden...."
