So, I wasn't sure where to put this, but this is based off the original series, so. This is a group I followed for a long time, and just recently they released their project. Moon Animate Make-Up is a group of 200+ animators who reanimated the 38th episode of the classic series.
Figured y'all would like to see it, I'm sure some of you have already.

I don't know if this has been posted before, or if anyone has ever seen it, but you guys...
THIS. IS. AMAZING!!
Moon Animate Make-Up was a crowd-sourced group project that was being worked on between for almost a year (October 2013 - July 2014). The project was to take an episode of Sailor Moon and re-create every scene frame-by-frame. Over 250 animators all submitted at least one frame of the episode in their own art-style to assemble one full-length parody.
It is absolutely amazing.

I saw this a while back. It was a big thing on tumblr as well, they got people from the tumblr and youtube communities to do it. I always wondered why it was the dic dub instead of the original, but it might have been easier to animate.

It's probably because the voices sound so goofy that the animators could really have fun with it. The part where "Serena" and "Molly" are walking together discussing Sailor Moon, Naru sounds like Harley Quinn. It's laughable.

Maybe it's because animating it in English made the mouth movements easier. It's significantly harder to animate speech in a language you aren't familiar with. It wouldn't look right. XD

Yeah, the English dub was easier to work with and parody. It also makes more sense to do the English version since it's the one most popular in mainstream culture.
I absolutely adore this animation. The part where the animator put in still shots of the portraits from the live action busts me up every time.

I love the animation of Luna and Artemis at 9:00. They just look really cool there. It may be from the ye olde DiC dub but the voice acting was surprisingly pretty good for this episode.
