| What are your favorite holiday movies?
I love the old clay/stop animation movies, such as the 1964 "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer."
I'm watching "Yes, Virginia" right now. |

| I loved the clay/stop animation of "Little Drummer Boy" as a child! <3
I guess my favourite modern one is "Elf". I don't know if I even have one now. XD |

| hmmm... Everyone in my family is tired of watching it but I just can't get enough of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It is one of the rare stupid comedies I love so much, it makes me laugh even after all these years LOL |

| It's a must each year that I have to watch "A Christmas Story" with Ralphie - lol. It is still one of my favorite movies today and since it was filmed in a portion of a town that I knew of when growing up (and visited a lot of), it always gives me a sense of "home".
Another must is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" - the animated version.... |

Another must is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" - the animated version.... That's really cool that you grew up near where "A Christmas Story" was filmed! Its one of my favorite Christmas movie classics. I also love the 1964 Rankin-Bass Rudolf Movie and in general any of the Rankin-Bass stop motion Christmas movies, including Santa Claus is comin' to town, The Year Without a Santa Claus, and Jack Frost, which I remember was a particularly sad movie. The Charlie Brown christmas special is another classic. But that's all I can think of off the top of my head, they really are the main ones for me! OH BUT!! I do remember this one animated movie I saw on Cartoon network. It was about the origins of Santa Claus but it had fairies and goddesses and all kinds of great fantasy stuff. I wish I could remember what it was called though. If anyone knows which one I'm talking about please tell me the name! |

| Has anyone seen a Pacman Christmas Special? I watched it when I was younger. I'm surprised Pacman had a holiday-themed movie. |

| I watched the 1964 version of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" with a group of people at school, and I love the movie. I just never realized how sexist, and racist it is. "The Grinch" is good too, the cartoon, and the one with Jim Carrey are really good too. |

| Okay those maybe aren't holiday movies, but I always watch them during holidays or just before. Actually in both movies, the action takes place right in Christmas Time so I guess this is the reason why I relate it to holidays So I just watched Die Hard yesterday and I plan on watching Die Hard 2 this week end I love those classics |

| Pee-Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special is actually my favorite holiday movie XD I've watched it every year since I was 5 years old (this year will be the 23rd... god I'm old >>), so it always has a special place in my heart. A Very Brady Christmas, the one from the late 80s, makes me all nostalgic too. |

| I must confess, I think holiday movies of today are utter trash. They are usually very lame comedies or very crude or trashy. And if they are made for kids, the characters usually act stupid and brainless. Holidays movies of today just do not have any Christmas spirit, I feel, or class or self respect. Old holiday movies are just the best! I will forever love those endearing clay animation movies. Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Little Drummer Boy (SUCH an impact on me, really), The Year Without A Santa Claus and Frostie the Snowman. I also grew up with the Natalie Wood version of Miracle on 34th Street. Oh gosh, that movie is my childhood! Also, It's A Wonderful Life (although I am not sure why that is considered a Christmas movie, just is though. . Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas -- the cartoon one, which is the most epicly wonderful Christmas movie ever. The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love how nontraditional that holiday movie is. But it is wonderful nonetheless! I will say that Elf was pretty good. I was very surprised how much I loved it, really. The end is rather corny to me, but the rest of the movie had that childlike whimsy that old holiday movies used to have! |
