It's even more expensive (6400 yen) and require upfront payment though. The item itself doesn't come out until March. I also can't personally vouch for this site as I have yet to buy anything from them, but I know a lot of people regularly use it.

If anyone can't buy one of these but still want a star locket I know Kumacrafts makes them and they're pretty cute. It doesn't play music though and looks smaller compared to the official one. I think I might tell my brother to buy me something from there for Christmas hehehe.

Well not normal ones that are toys, but this is considered a collectible and a "Premium Bandai" item, meaning that it is of higher quality and not meant to be just a toy.  At least its not as expensive as the Proplicas which are in the $90-$120 range.

Plus in case you haven't noticed, almost all of the new SM 20th Anni merch has been pricey with the exception of stuff like the melanine plates and cups and those sorts of small items (which imo are pricey like...$6 for a plastic cup??? >.>...) Japanese stuff is just kinda expensive. People think I'm crazy for wanting to buy the $30-$40 SH Figuarts and i'm like "HAVE YOU NOT BEEN TO DEALERS ROOM AT AN ANIME CONVENTION THIS IS A STEAL")

Anyway yeah, I was surprised at the price considering the old ones easily go for over $400 on ebay and other auction sites, so I totally took advantage of it.

Also benefit of preordering on CDJapan with a credit card, they don't charge you right away so if you don't have the money NOW no biggie.  Plus hey credit card! You can always pay it off later!! (annnnd don't ever listen to that advice EVER).

I know what you mean about spending so much money on something. The only reason I bought the star locket was because it's like the holy grail in any SM collector's collection and because I was lucky enough to buy it when they were in stock. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered since going through all that trouble for an item isn't worth it.

I've been looking at the wands and the disguise pen and have been just thinking about whether I want them or not. The wands are expensive and just the idea of buying something that's going to be sitting on my shelf that's worth that much is kind of off-putting. I think I'm going through a SM kick.

Yeah I'm finding it really hard justifying buying a 2 million (in my currency) doll but I REALLY WANT IT ;_;

I think I've allowed myself some leniency to splurge on certain items that are worth it, because at the end of the day you can't truly justify it. Collecting things means you buy stuff simply because you like them/they make you happy and you've just got to accept that. I don't buy the PROPLICA wands though because I'm not as into RPG items as other people - I'm more of a figure collector, but the star locket is so pretty come on.

Yeah I agree with Roro. I'm definitely on a SM kick. I remember I wanted those Senshi pens so bad and I had to stop myself and ask: why? Still haven't bought them either. I definitely want the figuarts and the item replicas. 
Gosh I hope they make a kaleidomoon scope.

See I tried buying the Figuarts SM figure and ended up returning it after it just sat in my room for a few days. I am considering buying neptune though when she comes out.

Me too Yunie. I wanted those transformation pens too but never got around to buying them. That's another thing about collecting the rods and compacts if not all of them are re-made I couldn't handle an uncomplete collection.

Thankfully the star locket can be a stand alone toy.

Yeah same for me. I had to stop buying things cause I've been trying to save money. My only justification for buying all this merc is that I missed out on a lot of stuff back when we had American released merch in the early 2000s and now that I'm an adult and don't have mom saying no, I can buy things that I really wanted. xD Plus I'm a coo-coo collector and like buying stuff like this. But I've been a good girl about it, I bought Moon, Mercury, and Mars Figuarts but have decided to wait on the rest since it doesn't seem like they will be selling out anytime soon.
