It was the first day of school, only it was an entirely different school, and Rei Hino was not exactly happy about this. She had worked hard to achieve her status as the Vice President of the Student Council of Silver Academy, and now they were supposed to blend with a rival school under one roof? And compete for everything? She hoped nobody was hoping to take her position away from her, because she wasn’t giving it up without a fight. She didn’t work hard to achieve everything she did only to have it all robbed from her on her senior year—the most important, life defining year in high school.

No, Rei had a specific plan. A specific five year plan that she’d developed since junior high, and all of it been followed perfectly. She had gotten every single thing she had aimed for, before her school dared to close down and throw a wrench in it. It was like throwing a rock on her perfect house of cards. Kicking the bottom piece of her Jenga tower. She had painstakingly built every single piece and now the universe decided, oh no, let’s have her start from scratch again, with double the challenge!

Well, guess what? Rei Hino loved challenges. It just made her want to prove she could overcome them. It just made her more ambitious.

So she strode purposefully—very purposefully—down the hall that bright morning, determined to be one of the first students to walk the halls of this new school. She eyed her new surroundings disdainfully. (She already had eyed it thoroughly during the holidays, but she wasn’t going to waste another opportunity to give it a disapproving look again.) The Verona Institute was certainly beautiful and grander than any other school their district had ever had, but its outer appearances couldn’t fool her. There was going to be an entirely new student population, and there were going to be people challenging her position. The thought of competing for everything she had already earned the hard way all over again almost made her furious, but she had turned it into something that fueled her determination instead.

She was going to have it all here too. And god knows Serenity needed her help. She could be too nice sometimes and Rei wasn’t sure she would be prepared to fight to keep her position, especially if what she’d heard about the other school-that-must-not-be-named’s Student Council President was true. The last thing she needed was for Serenity to take one look at him, get completely weak in the knees because of his charm, and decided to just hand him over her position.

That was why Rei was her Vice President. That was what she was there for; to keep Serenity from falling for the enemy’s trap like that.

No one was going to make a fool out of her best friend.

Makoto woke up early, she wanted to be early for school as she still needed to pick up her new schedule. She was furious that they had closed down Silver Academy and that she would spend Senior year, they year she had been looking forward to most, in a new school with mostly new people.

Makoto had also been looking forward to going for captain on basketball this year, but now she wasn't even sure the school would have a basketball team and if they did, would she even have a chance to make the team, let alone captain.

Makoto pushed her negative thoughts aside. At lease she would have her friends with her to help her get through this year. 

Makoto walked onto campus and picked up her schedule. She had English first and it was clear across camps. As she walked toward her first class, she saw Rei up ahead and decided to say hello to her raven haired friend.

"Good morning Rei," she said trying to muster up a smile, "are you ready for this, I don't know if I am."

Minako wasn't sure she hated the idea of the school intergrating. It meant new boys to ogle and she liked that idea, but she wasn't sure about her little brother starting school. She wasn't worried about the boy but she was worried about what it would do to her. She was the lead in all the plays and she was the best singer and that wouldn't change but if they knew that her little brother was well so geeky it might reflect on her in a bad way. Not that her grades ever slipped, she did well enough but he was so much smarter. The blonde took one last look in the mirror before leaving her room. The new school uniform wasn't bad, in fact it looked good on her and she was allowed to customize it with orange, yellow and red, giving it her own touch of style. She flipped her hair and left, closing the door behind her.

"Come on Artie!" She called as she made her way down stairs. "I do not want to be late on the first day!" She said in a huff. She knew this wasn't going to be a good idea after all.



Luna was excited. She was finally a senior! Maybe now they would stop picking on her. She'd been looking forward to this all summer. Her mother beamed at her when they bought her school uniform, the same one as her sisters only hers had touches of yellow and purple on the collar and jacket. The young girl couldn't help but bouncing as she nearly skipped down the hall. She crept now like a cat, as she slowly opened the door. With a practiced ease and timing the small girl launched herself at the dark mass in the bed. "TIME TO GET UP SERENITY!!!" the younger sister yelled, jumping on the bed. Laughing she skidded away before her sister could grab her. "We're going to be late if you don't get up!" She said from the door as she flipped the light. "And I won't be late!" She said in a huff and left the room.

Downstairs Luna ate her breakfast and read the last chapter of her fantasy novel. There was another stashed in her bag, but she just had to finish this one. She greeted her mother with a smile and a kiss.
Maybe she'd ask her mother to drop her off, if her sister took much longer. Luna was responsible for a 14 year old. She was a genius, she had skipped several grades and started high school with her sister, which seemed to be a sore spot for Serenity. Didn't she stop to think that with no one her own age it would be hard on her? She was always being told to go back to the junior high buildings or even worse the elementary buildings. She really hated that she couldn't wear the same uniform for a whole year, since she was too small for the smallest one. That wasn't fun. Tears still stung her eyes if she thought about it too long.

But despite the fact that her sister seemed to hate the fact that her little sister was in the same grade she was, Serenity always seemed to stand up for her sister. Serenity stopped the bullies and in the end seemed to get used to the arraignment even asking for help with homework, which Luna was more than happy to give. After a while Luna seemed to find her place in Serenity's group of friends, becoming close with each girl. She was going to start her time as a Student Council member this year, but with the merge she wasn't sure how well she'd keep up with that, besides, if the other guy really wanted the spot, Luna had better things to do than fight for a position, after all she had to think of the effort in trying to keep something some one else wanted so badly.

With a sigh she called after her mother asking for a ride to the school, her sister would take her time and Luna wanted to get things finalized with enough time to see her friends or make new ones.

She walked down the halls of the new school in awe. This was a beautiful building. They'd really out done themselves. She smiled at the updated labs and computers. This was going to be great! She spotted Rei and Makoto a little further down the hall. "Hai girls!" she said running a little to catch up. "Isn't this amazing?" She smiled up at them, she was still so short for her age. "It's Senior year!" She called out happily, her smile going from ear to ear.

Ami woke up for the first day of school with positive thoughts and a smile on her face.  The end of summer was upon them, sure, but it was a beautiful day and Ami planned to make the best of it.  Without haste, she performed the same morning routine she always did before school:  get up, get dressed, check the news, and head downstairs.  She lived in a fairly large home, which never made much sense to her since it was empty all of the time, but it was home and she loved it.  

She wasn't really surprised when she came downstairs to find it completely empty.  Her parents were always out of the house working, being the heads of very important sectors of Lunar Technologies.  They tried to be home when they could, but that wasn't often.

After eating breakfast and finishing up the rest of her preparations, Ami got into her ice blue car and drove to the Verona Institute.  She couldn't help but acknowledge the beauty of late summer's nature as she drove.  Ami had always been one to appreciate the little things.  

Pulling into a parking spot, Ami sat in her car and looked up at her new school.  It was beautiful - almost unreal in its sophistication and complexity.  She watched with interest as unfamiliar people walked into the school, and realization suddenly hit her.  She was no longer going to be with the people she had come to know and gone to school with for years.  Now, Ami was forced to meet all-new people, fight for the activities she loved and the positions she held, and try to get over her initial shyness when it came to meeting new people.  

Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Ami exited her car and entered the Institute, smiling and waving at those she recognized and hiding from those she didn't.  She carried herself with dignity, but was careful not to call any attention to herself.  Her eyes scanned the inner hallways for her friends, and finally she spotted them.  Grateful to finally be with people she knew and trusted, Ami approached them and smiled.  

"Good morning ladies," she said, standing next to Makoto.  "This is going to be an interesting year, huh?" she said, looking behind her at some of the men who had gathered in a cluster at another end of the hall.  It was so strange, seeing men at her school.  It was something she would have to get used to, Ami thought.  

She could only imagine what this year would bring.

Serenity was asleep in bed dreaming about being a princess at a royal ball. Just when the prince offered his hand for a dance, Serenity was suddenly attacked! She woke up and sat up in bed. She then saw her little sister Luna running out of the room. Serenity pursed her lips in anger and got of bed. 

"Why must she always wake me up like that?" Serenity muttered to herself. She walked over to windows and pulled back the curtains. It was a beautiful morning and the anger from her "alarm clock" faded away. She just smiled and headed to her bathroom. 

It took Serenity almost an hour to get ready. Today was the first day school after all! She had to look her best! Plus it was a brand new school with boys! Serenity hoped she could meet a boy liked her prince from her dreams. She grabbed her school bag off her desk chair and headed downstairs. Since her mother was a CEO Serenity and her sister lived in a huge house. She walked into the dinning room and saw that there was breakfast waiting for her. Luna was no where in site. Serenity sat down and began to nibble on a piece of toast. A maid came in to greet her.

"Good morning," Serenity cheerfully greeted the woman. "Have you seen my sister?"

"She just left with your mother," replied the maid.

Serenity just nodded her head and went back to her toast. She'll just have to kill her sister at school then. When she finished her breakfast, Serenity went to her car and drove off to school. When she pulled up to the school, she was able to find a place to park. The parking lot and the sidewalks leading to the school were filled with students. Serenity got out her car and gazed at her surroundings in awe. She couldn't believe this was her senior year. Out of her friends she was happy that that the school merged. Serenity loved trying new things and exploring the world around her. She walked up to the school greeting people she recognized along the way. She even said to hi to people she assumed were from the other school. Serenity walked through the entrance and continued down the main hallway and eventually saw her friends. She ran over to them waving.

"Morning everyone!!" She spoke in a loud cheerful voice.

A familiar voice distracted Rei from glaring at the school announcement board. She turned and saw one of her friends, her face brightening slightly, erasing the scowl. “Makoto, good morning.” She even mustered a smile. “I was born ready,” she stated matter-of-factly with a grin.

Luna came up next, and Rei’s smile grew wider. Her excitement was infectious and it reminded Rei that if she just stuck together with her friends, everything would be alright. Together, they could do and conquer anything. The fact that she was younger than them made Rei feel protective toward her too, if perhaps more so than Serenity. “It’s the most important year of our school life,” she agreed.

Ami joined them next, and Rei was actually proud for having beaten her in getting here. Usually Ami was always the first to arrive at school. “Good morning, Ami. And ‘interesting’ is certainly one way to put it.” She followed Ami’s gaze and her nose wrinkled at the sight of the boys. Ugh. Boys. Rei had never been impressed with them, finding most of them juvenile and foolish, lacking real ambition beyond being the best in their gang or whatever. She supposed the fact that she had almost no existing father figure in her life played into her bias against them as well. She had really loved going to an all-girls school, and now the thought of mixing with these… delinquents disturbed her.

She was about to ask if any of them had seen Serenity when the girl herself finally strode up to them, looking like this was the best day in her life. Of course she would think so.

“You’re not late,” Rei observed dryly. “Congratulations.” It was usually a toss-up between her and Minako when it came to who would be running against the bell. (Or both). So today’s feat was actually rather impressive. “Now perhaps you can tone down the sunshine to about two because it’s giving me a headache.”

Luna walked down the halls with her friends. "Morning Ami." Luna beamed up at her friend. "I agree interesting isn't the word I would use." The youngest senior of the high school was worried she would have to deal with a new bunch of bullies. She was young and she small, thus she was usually subject to bulling and boys were as she understood especially prone to bulling little girls.

"I have to say that I'm not really sure this was the best idea." She had a look of a reserved fear in her eyes. She only hoped she had plenty of classes with her friends.

Her sister walked up. "So you did get up when I woke you!" The smaller dark haired girl giggled. Her sneak attack had worked! "I should do that more often it got you here on time at least!" She said grinning. She loved her older sister and looked up to her. For Luna, Serenity was the the most beautiful person she's knew beside her mother. Luna wished she had Serenity's looks. Where Serenity was pale, and light. Luna was tan and dark. She wished she looked more like her mother and sister.

"So who has what class first?" She asked hoping that she might have a class with one of them.



Minako pulled her brillant gold car into a spot. She smiled and checked make up in the rearview mirror.
"Ok kiddo, here we are." Minako said getting out of the car and closing the door. "Good Luck. Freshman registration is that way." She pointed for her brother. "I'll see you after class." She wanted to hug her little brother, to wish him luck and to tell him that if anyone picked on him to tell him big sister and she would kick their butt. But she didn't she didn't want to embarrass him on the first day, but she still wanted to protect him.

She walked the halls till she found her friends. "Hey girls! Look who made it on time!" She smiled at them. " I think it will be a trend too, with Artemis attuning the Institute now." She knew that her little brother would throw a fit if she made him late for school. "Anyway, isn't the eye candy around here great?" she said eyeing some of the new boys that were attending her school. Oh this was going to be her year she could just tell.


At Luna's question the blonde looked at her schedule. "I have drama!" She said. She was really happy to have her favorite subject first thing in the morning.

Endymion turned the shower off and reached through the curtain to find a towel, careful not to drip too much on the tile floor in the process. He dried off while standing in the tub, then stepped out onto the fluffy blue bathmat, wrapped the towel around his waist, and grabbed a smaller towel to quickly dry his hair. Within moments he was nearly completely dry, and used the second towel to carefully wipe clean the steamed mirror. Then he stood, his hands resting on the counter-top, and looked himself in the eye, reminding himself of everything they had worked for last year, every hardship, every battle they had won. He thought of the clubs, the faculty, the fundraisers and the sacrifices of the previous year, and of how all that had ultimately failed in its original cause. Rosethorn was closed, and this year they would not be roaming its familiar hallways with its familiar faces. Today, Rosethorn students would be populating a new school, an Institute, and he owed it to them to make this the best year he possibly could to show them their hard work last year did not go unappreciated. 

He needed to get back in office. He needed to make sure the funds they had raised were used properly, and his student body was properly represented and duly rewarded for everything they had given up the year before. He kept his own gaze - he could not fail in this. He could not let them down, no matter the obstacles he faced. He owed them that.  He would put everything he had towards becoming School President again, and making sure the right thing was done by them. Even if he had to concoct a way to be seen and heard around the Silver Academy's old leadership and what had to be the huge financial backing they had at their beck and call. He felt his own hesitation and pushed past it. He would do more than his best. He would give it his all, and he would retake office for them.

Mental peptalk complete, he looked away from his reflection and opened the door to return to his room and dress for the day. Ultimately he chose a casual pair of jeans and an old favorite - his dark red Rosethorn school shirt, the rose symbol emblazoned in black tee-shirt print. He hesitated a moment before slipping it on over his head, wondering if it would be in poor taste to remind others of the past when they were on the first day of their future, but quickly shook it off. He was overdramatizing everything. He threw on a black collared shirt overtop and rolled up the sleeves to his elbows, ran a brush through his hair, slipped on his sneakers and called it good enough.

He had a pleasant conversation with his mother over breakfast; while she was yawning she was nonetheless determined to send him off on his first day of school with a balanced breakfast. They spoke of how cool the new school was, how exciting it was to be at the school its first year, how he and his friends and the other seniors at the school would really set the tone for the year and the school's future, and how good they could be for it. As the clocked ticked towards the time he had to go, she checked twice that he had his schedule printed and his student planner with him, that he had a supply of composition notebooks, spirals, and at least one binder with loose-leaf paper, and a combination lock in case there weren't locks already built into their lockers. Endymion took all of this with a smile and a shared look with his father as he entered the room, listened for a moment, and subtly shook his head with a bit of an eye roll, which his mother answered with a soft punch on his arm without breaking eye contact with Endymion.

When it was time, he wished them a good day, packed his shoulder-bag, and waved as he left the house.

OOC:

"Morning, Dad."

Klaus received a grunt in response, causing him to roll his eyes and grab an apple from the fridge. Grabbing his bag, he slung it over his shoulder and was about to exit the house when his father spoke.

"You going to Verona now?" the older man said. Klaus paused and turned, nodding his head. "Good. Maybe they can knock some sense into your thick skull."

Klaus's fist clenched around his bag strap, but he kept his mouth clamped shut. "Bye," he said, keeping his voice under control. Without another word, the silver-haired teen left the house and drove off towards his best friend's house. Their group of friends had decided that they would all enter their new school together, and so Klaus was picking them up like he usually did.

He pulled in front of Endymion's house and honked his horn three times, the same way he always did. It was obnoxious, loud, and out-of-place, which was the perfect way to get Endymion's attention.

"Ah!! Minako!!" Artemis cried out his big sister as she dashed off to go find her friends. He just stood by the car frowning. He was hoping she would walk him to the registration. He just sighed and walked in the direction she pointed to. He loved his sister dearly, but he wished she would act like a big sister more often. The freshman registration was in the gym. He saw a bunch tables which had signs marked with letters. Artemis got into the A-F table line seeing how his last name started with an A. The line wasn't very long and when he got to the table, he was handed his schedule and he went on his way. He headed to the school building and wonder the halls trying to find his homeroom. The school was very big.



Serenity just giggled at Rei's grumpiness. She just hugged her friend. "Sounds like someone didn't drink her coffee this morning!" She then let go of her friend. "Sorry, girls, but I am such a good mood! Today marks a new beginning! I really want our last year of high school to be best ever!" She then gave her friends a huge smile which soon fade away when her sister brought up her little wake up call. Before she could say anything Minako greeted them. She just gave her sister an evil eye and continued to walk with her friends.

Makoto smiled at her group of friends. "Rei cheer up, we are still all together so we can get through this, you never know it might actually work out well." Makoto said as she watched the other students filing through the halls. She caught a glance of a boy with golden brown hair and she froze with a dazed look in her face as she spoke, "he looks just like my sempai." she said with a smile.

She focused her attention back to her friends and pulled out her schedule, "I have English first period with Rutherford- what about you, do we have any classes together?" she asked hoping she would be able to have at least one of her friends in her classes. Makoto wasn't quite ready to  meet new people just yet.

Makoto hoped that there would be some of the same clubs (cooking, martial arts) that were at Silver Academy and she really hoped she still had a shot at captain of the basketball team.

It was the start of a brand new school year, and try as she might, Beryl could not make herself excited about it. The thought of having to attend school with... those people made her sick to her stomach. She didn't care much for the idea of all of these new faces coming in and potentially taking away her turf.

Calming herself, Beryl went to pack her things for school and dress herself. She made sure to add on all of her glamorous and flashy accessories, as per usual, and checked on her online blog one last time. She then grabbed her things and rushed out of the house, not wanting to get one of her mother's many motivational pep-talks. She got in her car and drove off to school.

Beryl walked onto campus and grabbed her schedule. She had already familiarize herself with the school over the break, and decided she would scope out and see what the rival students were like. As she gracefully strode down the hallways, she noticed a young boy up ahead. He looked to be a freshman, and was clearly lost. She smirked to herself as she walked up from behind.

"Hey little boy," she said with a almost too sweet tone, "Are you lost?"

After reassuring her mother for the fifth time that yes, he would behave himself, and that yes, he was not going to get detention on the first day, Nicholas was finally allowed to leave the house. He slung his backpack over his shoulder, and ruffled up his hair that his mother had insisted on combing and untucked his newly ironed shirt.

His mother had such an old view on fashion. He was going to a new school, that meant he had to look his best at all times. Didn't she understand that he had a reputation to build? He liked a more rugged look, not prim and proper.

At least she hadn't forced him to cut his hair to "respectable lengths" like she had been threatening for weeks.

It would be strange to be going to this new school. Rosethorn had been the best place, and starting all over was going to be difficult. Nicholas knew that he was up for the task, that wasn't even a question. It was just a little annoying to have to do it in the first place.

At least his friends were going to this same school as well. Together, they could rule the school in a week. Tops.

Nicholas shifted his position and continued to wait for his ride. Geez, Klaus generally had better timing than this.

Endymion reached for the door handle and jerked as a horn sounded thrice from the street. Shock immediately grasped him, but he got over it quickly, figuring the culprit without having to open the door. Klaus, he mentally growled, his eyes closed as he took a breath to regain his composure. When finally he stepped out of the house, his mother and father barely batting an eye at the familiarly intrusive noise, he had on his best annoyed scowl.

He strode down the front walkway and easily opened the passenger-side door. "The neighbours might like sleeping in, you know," he commented, shifting his bag to the floor as he buckled his seat belt. He wasn't really annoyed, but by now this act was like a game they played, an invitation for banter. As always, he waited for a reply before changing the subject.

Klaus smirked when Endymion got into the car and commented on his purposely-obnoxious honking. "The neighbors can buy my gas, then," he replied simply, putting the car into drive and exiting the neighborhood. As he drove towards the direction of Nicholas's house, he tried to start a conversation with his best friend. Of course, the best way to do that would be to pick on him a bit.

"Did Endymion get all five food groups this morning?" he asked, adopting a high-pitched, mocking tone. He always picked on Endymion for his controlled, balanced lifestyle. It was just something he liked to do, but in truth, Klaus was jealous. He wished his father had more of an involvement in his life, other than trying to completely dictate it.

They arrived at Nephrite's house and Klaus pulled into the driveway, honking the same three honks he did for Endymion. Ah, how he loved disturbing the peace.

Rei watched Minako appear, only almost fashionably late, along with her brother today. But of course she immediately ditched him. She groaned inwardly when Minako made a comment about the so-called eye candy. Why was everyone so excited about the men anyway? They were going to be aggravating. Serenity’s excitement was a little bit infectious, though. Just a tiny bit. Rei managed a smile as she declared that their last year was going to be the best ever. Well, that was certainly her goal, too. If only it wasn’t for these meddlesome boys…

“I do admire your endless optimism, Makoto,” she commented, but then immediately wanted to smack her palm on her forehead when she saw Mako getting distracted by the first boy who walked into her line of sight. Did no one understand her pain here?

“I’m taking all the AP classes, I’ll probably only share them with Ami,” she admitted. “First up is History, it seems.”

Luna smiled up at Rei. "Seems we have the same first period this year." She was often told she was too smart for her own good. "Mina didn't Artemis come with you?" She asked looking around for the only person her age she knew at the school. 'Maybe I'll see him after school..' She thought. "Shouldn't we get going?" She asked the group. It was close to the first bell and Luna did not want to be late for her first class. The thought that Rei at least would be with her on the way there was comforting. The older girl had always held Luna's respect. But the thought that having someone she knew around at lest at first would be nice. Maybe she would avoid being picked on this year. 



Minako nodded at Luna. Why couldn't her brother be more like Luna? "Yeah I didn't want to be an embarrassment to him so I left him on his own." She wondered if she should have taken the time to help her brother. Maybe she should have shown him to the office after all. She shrugged. "He'll be fine" She said. "Besides I bet he didn't want his older sister hanging around anyway, he was always like that as a kid." She mused. The blonde flipped her hair as she checked out the new school and the new students. "So what you do gals think the new year will hold of us?" Her eyes were bright as she thought of all the wonderful things that would be in store for them this year.

Ami stood back quietly, observing her friends as they conversed with each other. That was what Ami did - she watched, and she listened. She wondered if her friends were feeling the same way about this school as she did, and so she gauged the look in their eyes and their body language to see if she was the only one who was terrified of meeting all of these new students. Not only that, but what would be at stake, here? Usagi's position as Student Council president was definitely in jeopardy. Ami had done her research on Rosethorn's Student Council Board, and she was not happy with what she saw. From the looks of it, the men running Rosethorn were very coordinated and organized. Usagi was no where near that, but she was a great leader, and everyone at Silver Academy loved her. Who couldn't? She was adorable in every way possible. 

Ami couldn't help but giggle when Makoto got distracted by some passing boys. That was just like Makoto. Ami was actually surprised Minako hadn't said anything about all of her new eye candy. To be honest, Ami had never had much interest in men - she liked being independent and with her friends. In her dictionary, there is no such word as love.

But...perhaps her friends would find someone special to them during this last year? If anyone, it would most-likely be Minako who did. She was just so...likeable. Any guy would fall for her in an instant. Ami was happy that Rei seemed to be on the same page as her, though. As long as Ami had Rei, she would be alright.

Of course, Ami didn't even have to look at her schedule to know what her classes were. She had memorized her classes the first day she received the list, and knew how to get there without breaking a sweat. With a smile, Ami said, "I have History, as well. Then Orchestra for second period."

She bit her lip. Would there be any competitors in Orchestra? Ami had always been one of the best musicians at Silver Academy - her talent with the harp was renowned throughout their school populace. But would someone from Rosethorn take that all away from her?  She certainly hoped not.

Artemis wondered the halls with his schedule in one hand and the map of the school in the other. The school was a big place and Artemis was having a hard time finding his homeroom. Plus it didn't help that his classmates kept bumping into him which caused him to drop his papers. As he bend down to pick up his papers Artemis was cursing up a storm.

"Why did you leave me like that, Mina?" He mumbled to himself angrily. "Leaving your poor defenseless little brother all alone." He grabbed a hold of the papers and stood up. He continued forward until he came a fork in the hallway. He looked back at his map  and let out a sigh. Where the hell was room 201? Where the hell was his sister and her friends? He was bound to run into them at some point..

Artemis then heard a voice behind him. He turned and saw it was a red headed girl. Judging by her appearance she looked like a senior. She was quite good looking to which caused him to blush. 

"Um," he replied to her question. " I'm having a hard time reading this map. I found my homeroom on here, but I can't figure out how to get here. Can you help me?" He then handed her the paper. "Oh, it's room 201 by the way.."



Zeke was in his room putting on his school uniform. He was standing in front of the mirror fixing his tie. He had to look his absolute best for the first day of school. His friends would tease him for this, but he firmly believe that appearance was the up most important thing. When his tie looked prefect, Zeke grabbed his school bag off his desk's chair and headed downstairs to the dinning room. Once there, he found his mother eating breakfast. Since his father was a reound pianist Zeke grew up comfortably and his mother stayed at home. Unfortunately Zeke knew little about his father seeing how he traveled the world performing at famous concert halls. He greeted his mother and sat down to join her. He grabbed a piece of toast and pour himself some OJ. After eating his breakfast, he wished his mother a good day and headed out the door.

Outside, Zeke stood in the driveway waiting for his Klaus to pick up. He glanced at the watch on his wrist and started to tap his foot. They were late. He knew this would happen which is why he wanted to drive himself to school. But no, Endymion wanted them to all ride together and there was no way to argue against him. He was such a drama queen.



Jet was standing in the kitchen washing some dishes in the sink. He was cleaning the dishes from breakfast. As he washing them his mother was messing with his hair.

"Mother.." Jet spoke in embarrassed. "My hair is fine."

"I know sweetie," she replied. "But you have a little cow lick going on. I want you to look your best on your first day!"

He just smiled at his mother.

"I am so proud of you. You will be the first in the family to graduate from high school."

Jet's smile slightly faded. He then thought about how his dead beat father leaving right after his mother gave birth when she was sixteen. He just placed a clean dish on the rack to dry. He then unplugged the sink to let it drain. "All done. I will see you around dinner time. I start my new job today as well."

"You have an awesome, day!" Jet's mother kissed him on the cheek. 

Jet smiled at his mother again and grabbed his school bag off the kitchen table. He bid her goodbye and walked out of their apartment. He then stood by the street waiting for his friends to pick him up.

Endymion all but rolled his eyes as Klaus's remark about the neighbours, focusing instead on the streets that passed them by on the way to Nephrite's. As the road went on and they turned down different streets, Endymion's mind was on his schedule, his teachers - how many would he have from Rosethorn? How many from Silver Academy? A slight scowl tugged at the corners of his lips, wondering how the Silver Academy teachers would view him and his schoolmates. Would they look down on them for coming from a public school? He drummed his thumb on his leg habitually.

Musing on possible ways to deal with such situations - both in his own case and the case of some of his more vocal friends - Klaus's question caught him completely off-guard. The falsetto tone and comment provided a strange comfort in their familiarity, and Endymion looked to his friend with an expression of blank disbelief. "Mom made breakfast," he offered, and while the weight behind his words might have been lost on others, on seasoned friends like Klaus, his mother's infamous cooking spoke for itself. Usually his father and he took care of meals and they got along wonderfully. Nothing over- or under-cooked, nothing too bland or over-seasoned, nothing raw that wasn't supposed to be - it was nothing fancy, but it was edible and it was good. When his mother cooked... she meant well. 

"You could join us for breakfast in the morning if you wanted," Endymion offered as Klaus honked for Nephrite; though he knew Klaus knew his family's doors were always open for Klaus, he liked to remind him to use them.

Luna smiled at her friends. She had this feeling that this year was going to be at least interesting. "I'm going to try and find Artemis." She said trying to hide her blush. She knew that if their sisters found out that she had a crush on the boy, they would never let them or Luna live it down. "I'll see you in class." She said before waving good bye and setting down the hall. 

She wandered a bit before she found the boy in question. Talking to another sr girl. Since Luna didnt know her, she could only guess that she was from Rosethorn. She held back. That girl was beautiful. She was everything that Luna wasn't, which made the youngest sr stammer. She wanted to talk to her friend, but she wasn't sure if she should interrupt them. 

'Come on girl!' She said to herself. 'You're a senior too! You can talk to her, not like she's going to bite.' She nodded to herself and put on her best smile. 

"Hey Artemis!" She called out waving to the boy as she walked over to the pair. "I didn't see you with Mina this morning so I thought I'd come find you." She smiled and the color rose in her cheeks again. She turned to the girl with Artemis. "Hi, I'm Luna Tsukino. Nice to meet you." She smiled and bowed slightly to the red head.

Makoto was brought back to reality once the handsome boy turned the corner. She heard Ami talk about heading to her first class and that the first bell was going to be ringing soon. She did not want to be late on the first day of school, heck she didn't want to be late at all. That wasn't her style. She spoke with a hint of anticipation.

"I am going to get going, don't want to be late to my first class. Let's meet up again at lunch though okay." She smiled and waved at her friends as she turned to walk down the hall towards her class.

Room 513, that was where her history class was. She walked in and found a seat in the middle of the class. She placed her book bag down and pulled out some paper and pens to take notes. 

Makoto looked around and at first didn't see anyone she knew, hopefully there would be at least one person from Silver Academy, she didn't want to have to talk to the Rosethorn students unless she had to.

After Nick got into the car, Klaus drove off towards Zeke's place. Of course he'd probably get scolded for being late, but that wasn't his fault. If mister Prince Endymion wouldn't have taken so long, they would have gotten there sooner, he told himself. 

It was fun to blame things on Endymion. Life was just more entertaining that way.

"Nah, I'll stick to my apple-a-day," he said, regarding Endymion's offer. He knew Endymion understood what he meant - that he appreciated the offer but his pride prevented him from accepting it. Although they were best friends, there were some things that Klaus just couldn't admit. 

He had always liked Endymion's parents, and the help they had given him since his mother passed away was always something Klaus appreciated. It was nice having someone to count on, in good times and bad. 

Klaus spotted Zeke standing in his driveway and he smirked. The idiot should know better. 

Speeding up, Klaus turned into Zeke's driveway and pretended to almost run him over, braking just before he would have hit the blonde senior. Laughing to himself, he rolled down his window and leaned out. "Am I late?" he yelled, smiling.

Zeke nearly jumped when he saw Klaus's car coming toward him. The car stopped right in front of him and Klaus yelled out at him. He snorted and walked past his friend. 

"Next time try not to kill to me," he replied ignoring his question. "I would like to graduate." He opened up the back seat and climbed in. He slammed the door shut and put on his seat belt. He placed his bag on his lap and pulled out a small compact mirror. He was checking to make sure his hair didn't get messed up. 

"We better not keep Jet waiting," Zeke spoke up.

Chuckling, Klaus put the car back into drive and headed to Jet's house. After picking up the cranky blonde teen, Klaus drove them all to their new high school. The enormous building was definitely far more impressive than Rosethorn had ever been - there was no doubt about that. The high-tech exterior practically radiated an aura of wealth and sophistication. It was a nice new change,  Klaus thought, but it was also a little saddening. Rosethorn had been an amazing school, and leaving it behind for his final year of high school was like saying goodbye to an old friend.

After pulling in to a nice parking spot, Kunzite got out and pulled his sunglasses to the top of his head. With a sigh, he crossed his arms over his chest and glanced at Nephrite, who had gotten out behind him. "What do you think?" Kunzite asked, raising one eyebrow. Nephrite narrowed his eyes at their new high school and placed his hands behind his head. 

"It's cool, I guess," Nephrite mumbled. Rolling his eyes, Kunzite waited for his friends to get out of the car before locking it and heading towards their school's main entrance.

There were plenty of unfamiliar girls walking around, all with their noses sticking up and their shoulders squared. Some were pretty, sure, but Kunzite found himself turned off by stuck-rich girls.

He continued to walk, taking noticed of the school's various classrooms, posters, lockers, layouts, etc. Like the outside, the school was very complex and sophisticated on the inside. Klaus looked for some other people he knew from Rosethorn, and found that there didn't to seem to be as many guys this year as there were last year.

Of course, that was probably due to the fact that this place was infested with Silver Academy girls.

Klaus had never really taken much interest in girls. He didn't really take much interest in anything, really. He ignored the waves he got from the Rosethorn girls, and gave nods to the guys he recognized, but for the most part he found that this school didn't have anyone that caught his attention.

Turning the corner, Klaus spotted a group of girls standing together just a short distance away. Judging by the way everyone looked at them, Klaus guessed they were the "popular" crowd from Silver Academy. He was about to roll his eyes and move on when his eye briefly met that of a beautiful blonde standing among the group. He paused in his stride, feeling as if the world had briefly paused with him. This girl was stunning, to say the least. Her long, blonde hair was held back by a red bow, and her crystal blue eyes seemed to reach a part of him that no other girl had really struck before. He was suddenly compelled to learn more about her, to introduce himself and discover what kind of name could possibly belong to such a goddess.

It seemed as if she had not been able to look away from him, either, but finally the world stopped and her head snapped back to her friends. Every part of Klaus's body was screaming to move forward, to meet her and say hello, but he didn't. He simply stood beside Endymion, wondering if his best friend had noticed his...distraction.

Rei was heading to class when she heard the commotion. She turned toward the source and found a group of boys just heading inside. They seemed to know a lot of people and also known by a lot of people. Judging from the way the crowd interacted with them, it was obvious they were the popular boys back in their school. Well, too bad they weren’t in that school anymore.

Rei barely gave them a second glance. She wasn’t interested in boys; she found them immature and stupid at best and obnoxious and rude at worst. And something about this group made her feel even more annoyed at them. Who did they think they were, walking like they owned the school? This was not Rosethorn, and here, they would have to compete with the girls. Whom everyone knew was way smarter than boys. So there.

She eyed them disdainfully as she moved past them, holding her head high and not giving any of them the time of day. They all looked like everyone should worship them. Well, let her give them a dose of cold reality. Here at Verona Institute, not everyone would fall on their knees before them.

Serenity also took noticed of the Rosethorn boys as she walked to class. A lot of old Rosethorn students were giving them attention. She wondered if they were popular. She saw Rei holding her head high as they past them. She couldn't help, but giggle. Rei's attitude toward men was amusing. 

"Psst, Serenity," Minako whispered to her in a hush voice. Serenity glanced over at her best friend. "One of those guys is staring at us."

She glanced back at the boys and saw the white hair boy staring at them. She could tell by his gaze that he was staring at Minako. She then took notice of the black hair boy standing next to him. Serenity felt her stomach drop and quickly looked away. He was quite handsome.

Ami rolled her eyes at Serenity and Minako's response to the group of pompous-looking boys that had just appeared. They were both always so hyper and boy-crazy. However, Ami couldn't but help and take a look at them herself. Judging by the reactions they were getting from the other students, Ami inferred that they were of higher status in Rosethorn. The dark haired man who Serenity had been staring at seemed to be the leader-type, but he did not strike much of an interest in Ami. It was the shorter one with the ponytail that actually impressed her. He seemed to carry himself in a way that reminded Ami of herself. Intelligent, but modest and refined. She silently wondered if he was a musician, but shook the thought away as he met her gaze. Blushing slightly, Ami forced herself to forget about the handsome young man and walk with Rei. She didn't need a man to be happy. She had her friends, and that was all she would ever need.

"How long do you think it will be until Minako snags one of those boys?" Ami asked Rei, a teasing tone to her voice. "You know, I think one of them is staring at you."

“I give it five minutes tops,” Rei answered Ami’s question matter-of-factly. “All she needs is to bat her eyelashes, and by the looks of it, that one is already smitten by her anyway,” she nodded dismissively at the boy with long white hair.

At Ami’s next words, Rei looked toward the group of boys again, her curiosity winning. “What? Which one?” she asked, before she realized she had displayed an interest when she didn’t mean to. Quickly turning her head away again, she huffed. “Not that I’m interested. They can stare all day if they like.”
