Appearance:  

Rei has long black hair that has a purple sheen to it and dark purple eyes. She’s about 5’3” in height. Her skin is a nice natural color, not too pale and not too tan. She can usually be seen wearing her red and white miko robes(from the Shrine she lives in with her grandfather) or her private school uniform. At her all girls school, everyone wears the same outfit; a dark gray skirt, white jacket with a dark gray collar and a dark red bow. Rei often dresses elegantly and prefers the colors black and red.

Personality: Rei is a strong-willed, serious, stoic, hot blooded and sometimes bossy, but well-meaning girl. She is very loyal to the people she cares about and usually shows it in odd ways, such as teasing or joking with them. She doesn’t get too involved with men due to her estranged relationship with her own father. She has a very go-getter mentality when it comes to her goals and missions in life. Once they're set, she goes after them with everything she has until it's accomplished. She isn't afraid to share this with the people that are around her and often tries to push people in to being their very best as well.

One of her biggest weaknesses is that she tends to push people away without actually letting them past her walls first. This is one of the main reasons she doesn't have many friends. A lot of people don't know how to act around her since she always seems so cold and distant, but if you're resistant enough you learn that she's really quite the opposite. You just have to get past the walls she has built up over the years to protect herself. Another major weakness is that she doesn't like to ask anyone for help. She carries the weight of everything on her own shoulders and never is the first to ask someone else to share it with her. She'd rather pretend that she has it all under control than to burden someone else with her problems.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: She has a strong psychic ability and can sometimes have premonitions about upcoming events.

History: Rei lives with her grandfather who is an arch priest at a Shrine. Her father is a very high ranked member of the dominant political party and was always too immersed in work to have time for her.  He didn’t have time to spend with her nor did he visit her or come home for dinners. Her mother died when she was just a little girl. She doesn’t have relationships with anyone else within her family nor any friends. After the sudden death of her mom Rei became distant towards everyone, but her grandfather.

The only thing she ever wanted was to have her mother back. She didn’t have much of a relationship with her father ever sense she passed. When she was younger she would wish and pray that one day her mother would come back to her and everything could become normal again. This never happened  of course, but even as Rei grew older that was the only thing she ever wanted.

Being approached by Kyubey and learning that her could make any wish she wanted come true was the happiest day of her life. She knew instantly what her wish would be. Kyubey told her that this type of wish wasn’t allowed, but he would make an exception for her. She was so thrilled.

The next day her mother appeared at the temple as if nothing had happened, like she had been alive all these years. Rei instantly ran up to her and threw her arms around her mother. She called her dad for the first time in as long as she could remember. He came instantly and, though a bit strange and surprised, was insanely glad to have his wife back. She didn’t care that she had to risk her life to fight, she got her family back and that was all that mattered. Everything started to go back to normal and life was amazing again!...At least for a little while…

Soon her father started spending more and more time away from home and back at work, like he used to. He didn’t show up for dinner on a daily bases and Rei had to watch as her mother’s heart broke more every day.  She blamed herself, if she had just left it alone then her mother would have been spared from this pain. Now that she was a Magical Girl there was a chance that one day she might not come back from a battle. Her mother would lose her too. She was the only thing she had left. Rei soon began to fall into a deep depression that she didn’t know if she’d ever get out of.

Storyline Specific Information:
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rei isn’t a Senshi in this story, but a Magical Girl. She made a contract with Kyubey, becoming a Magical Girl and fighting witches for the rest of her life in exchange for a wish. Her appearance, personality and history is pretty much the same as it was in the Sailor Moon world, except now she’s become majorly depressed and bitter because of the blame she feels over what happened after making her wish.

Rei's hair changes to a more purple-y color and her eyes turn in to a reddish-brown. She wears her hair down, but can sometimes be seen with it up when she gets agitated with it during a fight. She wears a black tank top type corset with a red short jacket trimmed in gold over it. It's tied shut by a magenta colored bow and the sleeves have a black design. Once in awhile she will remove the jacket, but generally keeps it on. She wears a black and gray large striped skirt trimmed in gold as well. Black tights cover her legs just a little bit above her knees. Red high heels are worn and her ankles are adorned with two gold bracelet like rings.

Powers: Rei uses her bow and arrows to fight witches. The arrows are specially created so that she can channel any the element of fire in to it. This allows her to sometimes set the target ablaze, causing a searing pain all over the body. She also can use the arrows as daggers if the enemy gets too close, of course she tries to never let this happen. Her multiple bows allows her to shoot at different ranges as well as faster than just using one.

Stupid. Selfish. Irresponsible.

That's what she was. All of those things and so much more. Rei sat in front of  a burning fire inside of the Temple, the cries of her mother echoing around the walls.

'Why did I ever make that horrible wish?' Asked Rei to herself. She knew that just about anyone who lost their mother would want them back and that it was completely normal, but she should of known better. The days that she could remember before her mother's death were amazing. The family got along and acted like...well as a family should. Ever since her mom's passing things have never been the same.

Her father and her don't talk anymore, only when she's forced to be with him for something political. He was never home, never came to visit, never called unless he needed her to show up for something. She hated it and her whole life she wished it'd be different. That it'd go back to the way it was...but only her mother coming back to life could make that happen. Or so she thought.

She wished she never met Kyubey and more so, wished she thought about what she wanted for a bit longer. When Kyubey approached her saying that he could give her what her heart desired most and all she had to do was become a Magical Girl and protect the world from witches, she instantly agreed. She knew what she wanted and didn't think much of the consequences at the time. She told Kyubey to bring her mother back to life and although it was usually not allowed, he made the exception for her. The next day her mom showed up and once it calmed down, everything went back to normal. Her father would come home for dinners and he wanted to spend time with her and when he wasn't there, her mother was. She was would bake her treats, brush her hair, talk to her. Everything that Rei could of wished for.

But then...it all fell apart. Soon her father returned to work and went back to how he used to be. She watched as her mother's heart broke in to little pieces right in front of her eyes. She didn't understand why her husband didn't want to be home with them and what was more important to him than family. Rei often sat up all night listening to her mother crying. It was her own fault and she knew it. If she had just thought about it for a little longer, she might not have ever made that wish. She would still have her own life ahead of her and her mother wouldn't be so heartbroken. Instead, she had to risk her life everyday and hope that she'd be strong enough to return to her mother in the end. Rei was all she had left now.

Looks good, though could you add just another sentence or two to her appearance to give it 5 sentences (since this is an advanced profile hehe) You could describe the style of clothes she prefers to wear, perhaps?

Also, I just have one question: Does Rei still live at the shrine, even after her mother is alive again? It seems to me that she probably would have moved back in with her family, with her mother back, but maybe you have a reason why she would stay at the shrine? Maybe she could live with her family, but still continues to help her grandpa at the shrine?

Added, and yes I decided she would stay there to help out her grandfather and since her dad is never home, her mom gets lonely at the house and comes to visit/stays there a lot.
