Anime news network has released some updated news regarding the streaming of Sailor Moon Crystal. As well as being streamed on NicoNico from July 5th, we'll also be having it streamed on Crunchy Roll. 

I've read also that Viz will stream it too from this date seeing as they licensed it - but the article doesn't physically say this, maybe someone could confirm?

I've also heard that it's going to be streamed on Hulu and Viz's website, but I'm not sure if it's true. If it is, though, I'm definitely watching it on Hulu! 8D

It's true Nyota. It'll be on Hulu and Viz's site too.

I don't really know what I'll watch it on. It's been years since I've watched anything on Hulu but it looks like it's the best option right now.

I'll probably go with Viz seeing as I'm watching the sub each week anyway. Although I read a blog encouraging people to pay for a premium account on niconico to support the likely hood of more sailor moon seasons after crystal (crystals likely to only include the dark kingdom arc right?)

So I'm torn!

where did you read this? maybe that could work.. i can see them making more seasons if more people buy the premium accounts on niconico, then i could see it happening.

Here's the tumblr I read it on, click the Do I have to pay to watch Sailor Moon: Crystal? link. Bear in mind this is just someone's opinion - but if it seems a possibility I wouldn't mind paying $5.

I personally don't think it matters. I would think the amount of views trump over how many people get a subscription. At this point most people aren't going to pay for a subscription when they can go watch free without interruptions somewhere else. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that the main incentive to pay the $5 for niconico was that you could get a "seat" and not get kicked out? Does that happen with Hulu and Crunchyroll too because if it doesn't than everyone is probably going to jump to those sites.

Also it doesn't seem like the flow of merchandise isn't going to stop anytime soon and they could easily create merchandise based off Crystal while the series continues. I know a ton of money is being made from this merchandise so it would be a good business choice to keep the series going so they can make stuff.  

I think you're right Yunie, and as far as I'm aware Hulu and Neon Alley don't operate a 'seat' system, just a fair streaming system

I hope I am David. At this point everything really is up in the air. I do want to see more than one season of Crystal. I honestly wasn't that excited for the new anime at first but as we get closer I get more excited. They really do need to release a trailer though... We'll be only a month away from the anime soon. Shouldn't they start promoting it more?

No you don't get kicked out from watching things on Crunchyroll. Premium members get to see new episodes of animes the day after episodes air in Japan. Everyone else can watch it a week later. 

However I think they're doing Sailor Moon Crystal differently. Because I read it will stream the first episode on July 5 at 3:00 am Pacific time. So I wonder if Premium membership matters or not? 

I'm going to watch it on Crunchyroll regardless. Ad blocker works there and the video player doesn't give me issues like Hulu's does.

It sounds like it will be a simulcast on all those websites, hence the middle of the night time.

I'm gonna stick with NicoNico because all those other sites are US-only and add-ons that hide my location usually slow my loading down.

I'm interesting in seeing the anime, but I'm in the Eastern US timezone, so it would be 6 AM here, too early. Will the episodes repeat at later times or something?

Sailor moon crystal page is up on hulu now along with the sailor moon crystal trailer with english subs.

i'm probably gonna watch it on hulu because they should archive it...so, i'd rather watch it on hulu at a time i'm more concious and not just waking up to watch it at 6 in the freakin morning.

And I am such a nostalgic nerd that I keep tearing up when she does "In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!" at the end, no matter how many times I've seen it.

People are saying that you would need a hulu plus account to see it on hulu. But would that be the case if I am using Hola to pretend that I live in the U.S.A?

You don't need Hulu Plus to stream Crystal. If you have Plus than you can stream it on your phone and TV.

You can use crunchyroll and Nico Nico if you live outside of the US.

You can use an add-on for your browser to block your IP address (though like Mercury said, these can slow down your loading so the stream may have lags), or you can watch it on Niconico since their stream is available worldwide. Niconico will force free members to leave if the traffic gets heavy, though. :/

Yunie - Unfortunately Crunchyroll's stream for SM Crystal is not available in Europe.

It's Sailor Moon, of course the trafic will get heavy, eheh... I guess I will torrent a copy of the first episode once it's available.
I really want to support the official release, but I literally have no ways of doing so in my country. Except... well, with Niconico, but it won't be subbed, will it?

Mayo - Niconico will have English subtitles available. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the traffic will get heavy when the livestream starts. I think the episodes can be watched after the livestream for one week on Niconico, though.

It will be sub in 10 languages. French should be one of them. If not you can read the English subs. XD

You can install Hola if you use google chrome which will block your IP address.
