Welcome to the England thread! Thanks for taking the time to visit it! Underneath, I’ll be summing up all about England and its culture, traditions and many other similar things.
As you can see, the English flag is very simple and not to be confused with the UK flag. It is made up of 2 colours, red and white.
Where is England?
England is a part of the UK. This is an ‘Island country’. It is located in Western Europe. France is directly below it and Norway to the east of it. The UK consists of England; Scotland; Wales; Northern Ireland. England is the southernmost country in the UK. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.
A Brief History
The Kingdom of England existed from the 10
th century to 1707. This kingdom included modern day England and Wales. Also, for a small period of time, the southern uplands of Scotland. The kingdom of England has no specific founding date. It came from the gradual unification of the various kingdoms that were formed after the Anglo-Saxon settlement. The minor kingdoms at the time were known as the Heptarchy and this consisted of: East Anglia, Mercia, Northumbria, Kent, Essex, Sussex, and Wessex.
So, that’s just the beginning of the Kingdom of England! Below is a couple of bullet points defining the events that form what we have today, United Kingdom.

This is the UK flag which is a combination of the flags of the countries that are a part of the UK. Not to be confused with the English flag!
