That's right! The Otaku Senshi contest is BACK with its first contest of 2014!  As many of you are aware of by now, the monthly contests now rotate out so it is finally the Otaku Senshi Contest's turn! Yaaayy!!!

Entry #1

Sailor Corvus

She's from the Alchiba star of the Corvus constellation. She was once a well-known and powerful senshi but betrayed the trust of her fellow soldiers and was banished. She was a senshi from the Celtic days and when banished, was forced to live on Earth. She loves gossip and can lie without batting an eyelash. Her powers were to cause bad luck and she was somewhat of a trickster senshi.

Her attacks would cause someone to have bad luck wherever they would go, which was more of a curse, she has a cane that will shot razor sharp golden coins at the enemy, and an attack that would cause a large shamrock to grow and wrap around the enemy suffocating them.

- Influences/powers
Sailor Púca uses the power of transformation. She can tap into the atoms/molecules around her and mold them to to make whatever she wants, situation depending. In extreme cases, she can even mold her own body into another form.

- Brief
The Púca is a creature from Irish Mythology. It is often portrayed as a Rabbit (hence Sailor Púca's Semi-Rabbit Eared hair style), goat, or a black horse. The Púca is a shapeshifter, this explains Sailor Púca's powers, and can be the symbol of either good or bad fortune. I played with the "Good and Bad" description of the Púca and combined it with the Chinese "Ying and Yang". This is why Sailor Púca has Black and White in her costume along with the traditional Irish Green.

*Sailor Púca's face has a "sly and cunning" in expression. This is how I view the face of someone who brings both good and bad luck. You never know with a face like that.

A genderbend of St. Patrick with influences from irish dancers. Calm, gentle, and resillient, St. Sailor Patricia looks to God to guide her in life and as a soldier. She fights along-side the Celtic Warrior Aoife and her tutor Scathach, training with the warriors to keep Ireland safe. In her free time, she cares for a farm and loves to perform sermons.

Blissful Serene Evocation! - Temporarily stuns an enemy by evoking a holy spirit, effectively putting them in a trance.

-   noone knows where she came from, it's a mystery but some say, it from a 4 leaf clover

Sailor Brigid

Transformation Call: “Tuath Dé Cumhacht,  Smideadh!” (Tuath Dé Power, Make Up!)


Bio: Sailor Brigid doesn’t talk all that much. She instead prefers to take in her surroundings and just observe. Her ancestors gave her, her harp at the age of 15. They taught her how to use it to transform, attack, and protect.  They showed her how to use and control her healing and fire abilities. She started working in her local apothecary, where she puts her gift of healing to good use. Now, at the age of 18, she helps protect her friends and family with her gifts. She prefers to use her powers for good, but will use them to attack if necessary.


Attacks

“Tine Damhsa!”(Fire Dance): Sailor Brigid plays her harp in an upbeat melody which causes fire bolts to be shot from the strings at a target’s feet. (The target would have to jump back and forth like a dance =P)

“Fearthainn Ás Tine!” (Rain of Fire): Fire shoots from the strings in to the sky, before they fall down at the enemy.

“Glon Grà Leigheas!” (Pure Love Heal): Plays her harp in a slow, short melody in order to heal an ally.

“Fearthainn Ás Sinsir Sciath!” (Rain of Ancestor's Shield): Calls upon her ancestors to help protect her and her allies from harm by playing the song of her people.

“Álainn Fonn!” (Beautiful Melody): Enemies are stunned for a few seconds by how beautifully Sailor Brigid plays the harp!
