Sup y'all! 

My name is Rafael, but since a lot of people who don't speak portuguese or spanish have a little trouble pronouncing it (saying Ray-Fae-Ail), you can just call me Ray, which by no coincidence happens to be my handle.

I first watched Sailor Moon way back in '96, and though back then I thought the cartoon was excessively girlish and excessively japanese (those long Odango hairs really stole my attention more than anything else), nevertheless I liked it for those very same reasons.

That would've been that except a few years later I would catch the show again on Toonami every afternoon after school, and it got me thinking "y'know, that show was actually preety sweet", so it stuck on my head.

A decade later and here I am: I've watched the entire anime, downloading the Manga bit by bit and had my first try at the musical with the latest Reconquista.


Favorite Senshi is Usagi herself; That girl has so much energy! 

What is there not to like her? (Hint: don't answer!)

She is a born lover, befriends every one, pulls a Deus Ex at the last minute and even though everybody keeps pointing out the clutz she is, she never actually goes into depression and is even imune to one Youma who tries to spell her into insecurity. That's impressive. 

Not to mention being really sweet and all, I just wanna pat her in the head.

So anyway, that's my two-bit. Hope to clean my feet everytime I come in here and contribute somehow.

Welcome..! It's awesome to see people coming back to Sailor Moon after such a long time - that's the power of the Senshi I think! I'm the same, I'm only back into Sailor Moon this year after about a ten year hiatus too. I think we all came back at the right time - new anime, new Myu, new merch! ^^

Yeah, on a surface level Sailor Moon does seem girlie and "oooh, sparkles...!" but when you look deeper you realise there's so much more to it.

Usagi is fantastic, I think you'll be hard pushed to find anyone who doesn't like her on here. =p

Yeah, nowadays I view the whole franchise as a big coming-of-age-for-girls analogy, "Monster of the day" format and other commercial shenanigans aside. The whole SuperS thing with Rini and Helios actually reminds me of something I read before, about unicorns being an age old symbol about, again, coming of age for young girls.

The new Myu was great; really, really wish I was there!

Though I have to say I can't see how the story makes sense unless you're already a Sailor Moon fan.

Loved the new (hot and sexy!) Tuxedo Mask, but she spends too much time "sleeping". Waste of potential there. Also loved her literally "dropping the ball" too by the start.

Some complained that the actress doing Usagi didn't sing too well, I didn't mind it so much, though she did lose her voice a little near the end.
