Her stomach grumbled. It looked so delicious and Usagi could almost taste it in her mouth. Her best friend started to frost the cake that she wanted to devour.
"Please, Mako-chan?"
"No."
"One bite?"
"No."
She pouted. It smelled like heaven. That is, if heaven smelled like chocolate cake. Which it probably did. Makoto was the best cook she ever knew, and her meals seemed like she was sent as an angel to deliver wonderful meals.
"Mako-chan?"
"Yes, Usagi-chan?"
"Are you an angel?"
Makoto stiffened. An angel? She was anything but gentle. Or, she used to be. Usagi was a ray of sunlight that was delicate and hard to find. You have an attachment to it, and you don't want to destroy it. You'd do anything you could to protect that sunlight. And Makoto would do anything for Usagi. She was in a tough time in her life, but with Usagi in it, everything was better.
Makoto finished frosting and set a piece of cake in front of her friend.
"Thank you, Mako-chan!"
Usagi's smile was a mile wide. She wolfed down the cake in 30 seconds. It was filled with chocolatey goodness. Of course. This was Mako-chan's cooking, after all.
Makoto watched her best friend eat. She might not be an angel, but she was sure Usagi was hers.
