I always enjoy learning this about other people, what inspires you?
I cherrish the things that inspire me very much because without them I would have no drive or passion to write.

Some of my inspirations are
-Best Friends
When I was in middle school, I had a very close friend and I feel like together we learned allot of things and had allot of experiences together. We were never apart and we would share all of our secrets with each other, I cherrish the memories I have with her and I want to incorporate the things that that friendship taught me into my characters.
that relationship inspires me in the majority of what I create, I like to write about characters who were very close like we were, who go through allot of the things that we did. Because it makes me feel like I can revisit, and share those good feelings with others.

-Freedom/Isolation
Usually in the form of a post apocalyptic setting, as a kid I was always whisked away by the thought of isolation and of being alone,
Im inspired by the ability to go wherever you want and do whatever you want free from obligation or physical restraint
I like my story's to have characters who can reach out and touch the sky if they want to, in an empty world free form rules, laws and restrictions

Music. And normally I write when I'm feeling blue, thus why my stories normally talk about death. Since I'm recovering from a mild depression, I've been trying to write happier texts... it's been pretty hard

Music as well. Listening to songs helps me throughout writing a chapter. It keeps me moving. Also it helps me form ideas for stories/roleplays.

I have no clue... it could be anything from school to books to my life...

Sometimes they are inspired by real life and sometimes it's not.

Ideas randomly pop into my head to or something I see happens in real life or a picture I see on the internet.

Yeah music is definitely something I use to give me ideas, some of my favorite story aspects and plot ideas have come from listening to music. To be honest I find it the easiest and most enjoyable to draw my plot from listing to songs.

Another thing that never fails to get me to want to write is when I go to conventions or Renaissance fairs,  I see so much creativity put into costumes and art that it makes me really excited to go home and write, it also gives me tons of ideas to work with.

Technology is also something huge that occurs in most of my story's. Im very eager to see what kind of new technology will come out in the future, and I absolutely love envisioning the possibility's. I have allot of fun with it.

Music, books, events in real life, and sometimes just plain wierd questions I come across usually are the triggers for my inspiration.  Mostly music though.  I listen to a song and it usually causes something to pop up in my head.  A scenario matching the lyrics using characters I know or created.  Getting it down on paper is always the hardest.

I'll admit though, most of my writing comes from my insomnia.  I just can't sleep and my brain says "Write this *#$^ down!", which keeps me up longer... which makes me write more... which keeps me up LONGER, which makes me write MORE....

Sometimes what I wind up writing gets scary.  The first instance I had was when I made a stupid bet as a kid... Stay up for a week and get $50!   Well... five days in and the purple polka-dot hippos were telling me to hit the hay... I fell asleep/lost conscious awareness on Thursday, woke up on a Sunday night.  My parents told me I had been cackling in class to the point where the teachers called them in for me to be taken home.  I kid you not.

But... when I got my head back on straight, I had in my notebook four gorgeous poems of semi-deranged rambling madness that I couldn't have produced while sane... And I loved them!  I don't TRY to stay up like that anymore, brain damage is something I seriously want to avoid, but I always keep a notebook handy now for when I just can't sleep.

For myself, it's also music. I, for the most part recovered from depression. (self cured, no meds) However whenever I feel blue and need to write my feelings out, I express it through my fanfiction. Just like Mistress.

I listen to music that fits the mood of what I'm writing. For example, if I'm writing something happy, the music will be upbeat and fun with a fast beat, but if I'm writing something sad, I'll listen to sad songs. Then my mood changes so more emotion goes into what I'm writing.

Music, whatever I happen to be reading and probably while playing Spyro.  Spyro has the most goreous layouts for a fantasy land to me.  Maybe not as -epic- as WoW or anything, but they're more playful and believable places. 

Also, dreams.  I have weird and whacky dreams. 

But there's also questions that trigger it. (like how Dark Moon came about.)

For me it's music but I've had a few ideas pop into my head from shows I've watched though those are mainly what if's in fact the current fanfic I'm writing at the moment came from watching Sailor Moon S it was a what if Usagi was working with the outers and what if she was related to one of them while she was at it. so yea usually watching tv and music give me most of my insperation

Music inspires me. Though there are some stories I can only write if I'm listening to a certain kind of music. I try to set up playlists for my stories so That I can keep the flow going. Also I've found that I can get random flashes of inspiration from random things. Movies, books, etc are pretty common, but a few times I got hit with inspiration in the middle of my Yoga class.

A lot of my inspiration comes from music. I have certain songs that I will play over and over again as I write because either the score or the lyrics have really caught my attention. I have entire playlists built for certain scenes, emotional and physical, that I will play depending on what I'm writing. I also have go to songs that no matter how many times I've heard them, all it takes is one listen and I have a new idea or a fresh outlook to a new idea. I have to have music when I write.

Then there is nature itself. I live out in the country and sometimes I sit on my front porch in the early morning hours or in the evening and just look at everything around me. I've built some beautiful settings based on what I can see not five feet in front of me. And the sounds of nature? Man that's a beautiful playlist all of it's own.

My son inspires me as well. He's six and some of his antics will make it into my novels or short stories where there are kids. I try and find inspiration anywhere, conversations with family? Sometimes gets altered and makes it into dialogue if it's funny or deep. And my best friend, she is both inspiration and encouragement. My writing wouldn't be half of what it is today without her.

A combination of things be it music, a movie I saw, a TV show or just a passing comment somebody said once. Some of my creations are also inspired from a mix of fictional creations I enjoyed in the past or aspects of my personal life. To quote a favorite show of mine, "Because a writer has to write. It's not a decision. It's a lifelong compulsion." That line has always stuck with me.

Music, movies, books etc. I would have an idea pop out in my head when I hear music, watched a movie or read a book. But those ideas would usually be kept in the dark corners in my mind and forgotten.

Lots of things inspire me to write, though inspiration tends to hit me at inconvenient times. For example, like watching a movie, listening to classical music, getting helpful input from friends, or reading books helps me get the inspiration I need for certain works.

I'm inspired by what I see and hear. If I read something, or hear something, or even dream something that I realize would make a great story, I start writing. 

However, what keeps me writing is my readers. I've learned over time that even if you only have one reader, you should keep writing for that one reader. Having people asking for more is what keeps me going, because I feel like I'm actually writing something that people enjoy.

usually random things in the middle of the night while I'm trying to sleep that stab my brain and say "WRITE!" these are usually brought on by planning out my dreams for the night, so i can only blame myself.

when i come up with ideas i realize no one else has.

usually i get the ideas from...well, random stuff. XD listening to music, watching something, or just sitting at work. and something will trigger my brain to do a random train of thought process

like example, a character in the story my boyfriend and i are writing

driving to work listening radio-> hears a song about a woman who uses men-> thinks of monster girl who basically ruins men and buy them out-> want to make "using" female character-> speculation on said monster girl who would use men, but how and why?-> thinking of monster character who dates very poor guys, helps them get rich, then abandons them because their not "fun" or "challenging" anymore. thus, twisted usage.

this was an actual example, though i'm sure it's slightly shortened...

Lately going on long walks through the neighborhood help me get my writing juices back.

I don't get much feed back on what I have written, but my best friend says that she loves my writing and that means the world to me!

Yeah she wont tell me sometinh just because I want tp hear it. So she gets it before I even post it.

That's a good question; I'm not really sure, actually. XD;; My ideas usually come out of nowhere, like when I'm just day dreaming and contemplating random things and events around me. What I do know is, when my Muse gets really taken with an idea, it will not leave me alone until I put it down in some way.

Music, especially listening to pieces with a certain mood (either with a fast tempo for action oriented scenes, or calm, melancholy ones for emotive scenes), helps me focus. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it does wonders and I can get through a whole chapter by looping one for a few pieces of music.

Other shows/show/story developments. Since I mostly dabble in fanfiction/crossovers, it's always nice to see something exciting happen in cannon that I can twist and turn to fit my own ends. :3

More often than not, music is what inspires me; a certain tune or lyric might strike me just the right way. Sometimes it gives me a specific idea, other times it just urges me to go create something of my own. Aside from that, it can be anything really: a starry sky, a line in a book, dialogue from a movie, a comment on a forum...inspiration can show up just about anywhere.

I think other shows and stories inspire me the most, but sometimes just thinking about 'what ifs', listening to music, or talking to friends helps to move the inspiration along. As bad as it may sound, comments on previous things I've written helps inspire me to push forward and through the writer's block as well.
