If you guys haven't heard, FUNimation will have a huge announcement once it's FaceBook page gets one million likes.

I'm not going to get my hopes up, as for FUNimation, it could be something Madoka related, or they are going to be re-putting up anime on Netflix that used to be ADV Films licensed. You never know though. I've just learned that with Funimation, don't get your hopes up...

I liked the page but I'm with starchild on this. I highly doubt it's sailor moon since the anime got delayed.

Last time FUNi did this, wasn't it that DBZ thing?

Well, they've reached their goal....let's see what happens....

Like I thought, if Luna Nova is right, Something completely pointless that only a number of anime fans will be happy about... Oh my god I hate FUNimation. I really do. Always have. /rant

Please excuse my anger, I'm tired of FUNi doing this. Building up suspense for nothing.

Actually Eva is really really popular amongst most anime fans (Heck I really enjoyed the first season and first movie and think its a prety awesome anime) so I don't blame them for building up hype for an announcement like that. We probably shouldn't look too muych into anything as far as American dubbing companies go unless we hear it from the Japanese source first.

Even though it might not be anything Sailor Moon related but please in the title of the thread put news, update, or highlight.

no. madoka is a aniplex series and like other aniplex series (Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero) the series is released by ANIPLEX USA in america. even the first two movies (without dub) have an american  release date.

I know they won't. I was basically being a sarcastic FUNi disliker. XD Aniplex USA has their own Hulu channel, so does FUNi, so was already aware. XD

I was a Hardcore ADV Films fanatic. I dislike the voice choices FUNi has for most of their shows. This was in the earlier 2000's when I had this dislike, but things might have changed, who knows. I miss my Kelly Manison and Cynthia Martinez... *sobs*

i didnt care for english dubs. me as a german just need the subbed version of anime *insert name here* on blu ray when it didnt get a release in germany

oh ADV-Films. they said goodbye in germany (i think) 4-5 years ago :/

Eva...i'm not surprised really. My excitement of the possibly Funimation announcing Sailor Moon has died. I'm quite sick of all of the "rumors" I've heard and teasing the company has done about them having the license. So until we get an official announcement from them saying that they very clearly have 100% rights to distribute it, I'm not getting excited over anything.

Besides, I doubt they would have announced something as big as Sailor Moon on a random Facebook post. That's the type of news you should announce at a massive convention like Anime Expo.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Not just the poor choice in voices, but much of the dialogue sounds very....flat. Like you can tell they are reading from off of scripts half the time, there's just little energy there, least that's the impression I got in their dubs that I have seen.

Funimation is a big company, and they know there's a huge demand for Sailor Moon in North America, it just seems more likely for them to make a big announcement like that at a big event.

Kaze is the biggest Publisher in germany too.
they not even made a countdown for the sailor moonn release like the new publisher Peppermint did for Sword Art Online und Fate/Zero (both seasons of F/Z)

I recently finished watching the ADV dub for Ghost Stories. He did a voice for a character in one episode but he didn't want to be credited....you can totally tell its him.

Maybe I'm kinda behind on the news... Didn't Funimation get the rights to re-dub Sailor Moon a few years ago? Or was planning to? (I've been out of the loop for a while...)

Nope. They expressed interest in getting the rights if they become available to them. I'm sure it also depends on what kind of deal they can make and the costs of the license. A lot of that is up to Naoko. From what I understand, she makes the decisions on which country got to re-air Sailor Moon.

A while back, Miss Dream did an April's Fool joke (in bad taste, imo) that Funi had gotten the rights to do it and made a very official looking document that caused a bit of an uproar in the community. But it was just a prank. :/

Urgh, how annoying... I mean, there is the support for it. A large fan base and such...

With the new anime coming out (hopefully very soon!), perhaps they (Naoko, PnP, Toei) have decided to withhold from giving out licenses for the old anime and will just give out for when the new anime will air?

But thats just me speculating, not actually knowing anything for sure. ^^;

Although, fun fact for you. Aniplex must be shoveling rights over to FUNi to do crap. Cause my GF and I have been watching FMA (Japanese) on Netflix and it still states it's from Aniplex, but also from FUNi. Also been watching another anime made by ADV and they are doing the same thing. D: ?
