Neko suggested yesterday that I set up a Sailor Moon RPG gaming thread using the rules in the RPG&Resource book, and I found that I have a campaign more or less set up, except for the maps that I deleted because they sucked, and all character stats that need to be inputted yet, over roll20.net .

(It's a virtual tabletop with other facilities for tabletop RPGs, such as an inbuilt dice roller, text+voice+video chat, token library or uploading option (think as the figure you use to represent your character), GM's notes, that stuff.)

The park campaign has been scrapped until further notice, due to having more plot holes in the default book than I can fill in. However, there's another campaign I have planned out, much better than the previous one, that actually starts in Tokyo. And it fits the theme "Find Riini" much better.

The characters are the inners, moon and Tux, which for the sake of ease will use the default profiles in the book. If any slots aren't filled, they'll have convenient excuses to be away from action.

Riini is an NPC.

The villain is Emerald, at least for now

For game balance reasons, while not being stated that they can actually heal hit points, the Moon Crystal Healing spell can restore the full health and energy of a target other than the caster, and the regular Moon Healing Activation can restore 30 health points when not used to purge the dark energy/possessing youma/mind control/paralysis from the target.

Jupiter Tunder Dragon is an actual dragon summon. Yes, Verdandi! You can have your own dragon. It's got 40 health points, and regenerates 10 on each turn, but also drains 5 energy to maintain. If hit by a Negaverse Energy Drain attack, it takes double damage. While it's on the field, Sailor Jupiter can sense otherworldly creatures through it, (has the Heightened Senses attribute on level 1)

Venus Wink Chainsword summons a chainsaw-sword of the dark gritty sort, which requires considerable strength to handle, but cuts through armor with considerable ease.

I would be okay for playing this! ^^ I always wanted to try out the ressource book!

How about you all pick a character each and we'll discuss a time when we're all online? (you all need to register for the virtual tabletop, but it's free)

I'm currently preparing more or less furiously for the campaign: Monsters, plot hooks, character interaction options, character personalities, flavor text, maps, encounters. (There'll be no GMPC for this time, unless nobody picks Sailor Moon, because then I'll be forced to control her. She's kind of plot-critical, Riini and all.)

And don't expect to overpower everything with the silver crystal. I'm not Naoko, this is not skyrim, the droids aren't just going to stand out in the open with their jaws dropped in awe of your fancy dresses, begging to be slaughtered punished in the name of the moon. (Like the dragon did in episode 78. She even had a boss health bar ) Emerald said she wouldn't fail like Rubeus did, so she'll be sending in the "spec ops". But keep your wits about you, and you will prevail.

Don't worry though, I don't want this to be a hack&slash dungeon crawl.

And, what I forgot: The theme of the campaign is "understanding and exploration".

Neko, Mayo, you were great players, despite this being first time, new, and just an ad-hoc battle before the real story begins. You should really join in Verdandi! I don't think I make a good Makoto. Plus, you have a DRAGON! Everybody loves dragons. Right?

But take care. Next time I'll be stricter with logging your energy(mana) usage/consumption (it can be a source of drama and tension after all!)

The monster was scarier by sailor moon standarts, but it really was epic!

My bad, Verdandi. I thought bumping this thread would be enough. I'll send messages next time. Don't fret though. We have only started the prologue, the real meat of the story is just ahead. (the three senshi are just arriving at the resort - after a small... detour)

What happened is that Mina/Matilda wandered off from the others, and found an enchanted patch of the forest they've been walking through towards the resort. It was unnaturally full of life, with the trees having all their leaves in early december. She called Artemis (the party split up before the vacation: Tux, Rei, Ami and Arty stayed behind in Tokyo), and was found by Usagi/Serena/Bunny.

Then came the "Awoken Spirit" or treant. It was a tree of few words, that made geyser-like explosions, animated and summoned vines that could entangle their quarry, had a tough hide, could paralyze, and could shoot sticky goo, meld into the enviroment, and sidn't speak much.

It fought Moon and Venus, and was winning...

Update and stuff:
One is that I can't send PM-s for about a week, you guys will have to watch the thread.
The other is that I'll be away for the good part of saturday due to real life duties, and will probably not arrive in time. Thus, if it's possible, I'd like to start at 21:00 UTC+1 , 24 hours and 10 minutes from making this post. If it's agreeable, please leave a reply here.

France is UTC+0 I think, so 20:00. As for Neko and Verdandi, they need to post their timezones. I believe it's some 15:00 for Neko, and ? for Verdandi.
