Five people are currently playing: Sailor Uranus, Batman, Sailor Chibi Moon, Wonder Woman and Iron Man. They get out of the box, create a human chain up to the desk, and throw Chibi Moon over to get the doorknob. She grabs on and gets it to turn; the door is open! They go rushing off down the hallway and turn a corner to find… OMG A MOUSE! Gah! They scatter!
Then someone joins! They decide to be Sailor Jupiter! Well, Jupiter doesn’t have to start from scratch. The new player should play as though she was there with the others the the whole time – rather than being up on the shelf, though, she was helping smaller people out of the box. Then she and all of the other “NPC’s” (aka, future players), follow the active guys out into the hallway to the rat, and then Jupiter becomes active. She helps them outsmart/fight off/scare off the rat, and they continue to their next obstacle: The staircase!
After the stairs and the butler scare, someone else joins as Sailor Saturn. Again, Sailor Saturn has been following the main team the whole time as an NPC – she doesn’t start rping as though she’s been in the box up until now, she starts rping with a reaction to the dark and creepy (yet strangely familiar and efficient) staircase leading down into the creepy basement.
this is so we don’t spend all of our rping time getting to the good part – we want to be already there!
