So, Kakyuu and I are doing a watch of PGSM when we can (re-watch for me). There's something we keep joking/semi-complaining about, and that would be, how many times must they show us flashbacks?! Currently, Ami and Naru are on the outs because of what Ami had to do when Usagi was transforming into a youma. This happens frequently during the series as well, but we've seen Ami saying "You might not believe me, but..." about 10 times within the last four or fives episodes.

What do you think of the frequent archive footage? Is it too much? Do they think we don't remember? xD

yeah, i think sometimes it is overused, but since they created this show with kids in their minds... maybe they thought i was better for them to remember.

Unlike the anime which has an episodic formula, PGSM has a long running plot, because of the younger kids who may have missed episodes or don't remember, i think we need to flashbacks.

plus, kids' attention span is very small. so, they tend to forget things quite quickly.

I don't think you're giving kids a lot of credit actually. Just look at shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender. Some adults have trouble keeping up with those storylines, but I know kids love it and follow it well. Prime example being a child I babysat.
