| Of the old anime version, how many episodes are there? I know that there is 200 episodes, but how many are excluded as having no importance at all — like as review episodes? |

| There is one clip episode, number "89" the last one in R, if thats what you mean? But it still counts within the 200 |

| Okay. So I can skip Ep. 89 if I wish, as it has no relevance to the anime plot? Are there others? If I watch the anime on AnimeCrave website, which has like 193 episodes out of 200... .
Also, I have to ask where descent quality (video and audio) of the specials? (That is the specials like the Neptune & Uranus special, and Ami's First Love special.) |

| Well personally, I don't see a reason to skip any episodes of the anime. It is still a very funny episode. I guess you could also skip episodes 20 and 67, but if you want to just watch plot episodes... you could actually probably skip about 75% of the anime... since the series is episodic rather than a continuing drama like PGSM. |

| Hm...
Looks like I'm going to have a bit of a headache trying to find websites with descent quality episodes... AnimeCrave seems like a good place to start... . |

| Oh my gosh, are we calling it the "old" anime already? lol. You should watch all of them. I mean, the majority of the anime has a whole bunch of frivolous episodes so in reality, you could watch about 15 from each season and not miss anything. There is a lot of repetition, such as for example, in the S season when about 20 random people have their pure hearts stolen in search of the talisman. They do this for every season. Like in the manga, it can be summed up really quickly. But that is the essence/disadvantage of the anime so you should go through it all anyway. ^^ |

| If you've never seen the anime as a whole, I'd really really really suggest watching all of the episodes at least once.
I mean, sure, there can be a lot of repetition to the storylines, especially in the beginning of each arc with the random MoTD/VoTD scheme. BUT, that does not disqualify their awesomeness. I've never really believed in what sometimes people called "filler episodes" because I still think there are good things in all of the episodes.
There's lots of character development that can be missed, and there are cute scenes and funny scenes and even sad scenes and scenes that can show a depth to different relationships and friendships within all of the characters, and all of that would just be glossed over if people decided that the majority of the entire series was just "filler".
Maybe I'm crazy :3 But I highly recommend watching all of the episodes, because each one has something to bring to the storyline and characters, even if it doesn't necessarily move the plot along terribly much. |

Exactly. It can be the most ridiculous or useless episode but have one line that is absolutely hilarious or a glance or very quick moments that are priceless. I can't remember which episode it is but Usagi gets attacked (as usual) but she gives this absolutely hilarious reaction that for some reason is my all time favorite. It's just a classic. I don't know why but I love it so much. |

I don't know why but I love it so much. Its the Atsugessho episode in R when Usagi and Mamoru break up and Usagi goes and yells at the clerk in a make up shop who just happens to be a monster. I loooove that episode, definitely one of the best ever, and a good example as you can't miss filler. Technically this is a filler one but it also starts off an entire subplot thats not resolved for a dozen or two episodes! (Also I think this is 61 but not 100% on that). |

When I was trying to show the anime to my friends, I wanted to skip the filler episodes as well. You can google "important Sailor Moon episodes" and I believe there's a site that pops up with a list of truncated episodes that are notable in the series. You can definitely skip episode 67 and 89 though haha |

Episode 89 is a review featuring clips from previous episodes as well as a few clips from the upcoming Sailor Moon S, but that's it. And episode 67 is an original story but it's about the girls going to an island for vacation and chibiusa finds a dinosaur. It's really uninteresting, but you can watch if you want. It wasn't released in the region 1 DVDs |

| Honestly, every episode of Sailor Moon is great, some are better than others. Episode 67 is more similar to episode 20 of the anime. They're "vacation" episodes which are kinda like side-stories. 89 is a review episode and honestly its dialogue is hilarious, I don't get why people dont like it XD
I wouldn't skip any, there's just no point. |

Which is why I like this guide right here: http://animania.eclectic-world.com/post.cfm/sailor-moon-essential-episodes It highlights not only the essential episodes that drive the plot forward, but it also points out episodes that include character development, and humorous episodes like #184 But I agree with the others, you probably shouldn't skip any unless you absolutely don't have time to watch all 200 episodes of if you've seen them all before. |

That's why I like the above site. "Using this guide, you can cut the viewing down to 147 episodes for a slightly more manageable viewing. Or if you skip the red italic ones, you'll have 96 episodes which is certainly more manageable than 200. ;-) I've included notes on the important things that happen during the episodes, while also trying to avoid major spoilers (unless the title of the episode spoils it anyway)." |

| There are 200 episode, however there aren't really any review episodes within those 200 episodes. The review ones are apart of the Specials |
