Physical Description (include clothing generally worn):
Rei is a petite framed girl, only standing around 5'3" in height. She has long dark hair past her waist and brown eyes. She is a beautiful young girl, yet holds a serious expression most of the time. When she does finally let loose and smiles it can brighten up a room. Since she works at the family's temple, she can most often be seen in the miko robes. The top half is white and the bottom half red. On her feet are geta, or raised wooden clogs, which make a distinctive sound when walking in them.

Attending T.A. Academy, a private school, during the day Rei's uniform is different from that of the other Senshi. It is prominently neutral colors: a grey blouse with a red striped black collar and a red bow, a black skirt, white knee socks with red stripes, and black shoes. It is an elite, yet classy looking uniform for the status of her school. When she's not at school or the temple, Rei can be seen found in cute and stylish street clothes like the other girls wear.

Personality:
Rei is a generally serious person. Her stoic nature makes her the ideal woman to take in as a wife. However, Rei does not let herself get too involved with men. Most of that is due to her father's estrangement. She's smart and reserved; she would rather think things through and plan before jumping to attack. Rei may appear cold and indifferent at first, but once she is comfortable around people she knows, she is a kind, warm-hearted girl.

When she first met the Senshi, she did not want to be a part of their team. She preferred to act on her own. As time went on, Rei grew closer to the group of girls. She has a special unique bond with Minako, Sailor Venus, and though sometimes they don't see eye to eye, she truly cares about their friendship. Rei is very protective of the other Senshi and would do anything to save them at all costs.

Her dedication and loyalty can not only be shown to the Senshi and the cause in which they are fighting for, but also to her intuition. Many a night she can be seen in front of the fire at the temple, meditating and searching for the meaning of any premonitions or dreams she may have had previously.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills:
When working at the temple, her extra senses proved to be useful. Rei has extrasensory perception (ESP), practices pyromancy (fire reading) and is able to use ofuda as a weapon.

History:
Hino Rei was born on the 17 April, in Tokyo, Japan. Her mother died when Rei was a young girl, leaving just Rei and her father. However, being a career politician, Rei's father didn't have a lot of time for her so they became estranged. She was sent to their family's temple where her grandfather lived and worked and adjusted to the life of a temple priestess. Rei's psychic abilities and extraordinary intuition helped her along the way.

It was on the fateful day when Usagi and Ami were investigating some disappearances near the temple that Rei saved them from being attacked by a youma. Luna sensed another Senshi's presence and gave Rei her transformation pen. Without being told what to do, Rei transformed into Sailor Mars, the third of the five Sailor Senshi. Upon transforming, Rei finally realized why she was giving the special abilities she had been given.


Senshi Name: Sailor Mars, Super Sailor Mars, Eternal Sailor Mars

Senshi Fuku:
What is first noticeable about Sailor Mars's appearance is her long, ravenous black hair. It extends past her waist, nearly dead center to her kneecaps. Slightly hiding in her bangs is a golden tiara, dipping down her forehead with a red jewel placed in the middle. A white leotard covers her body and is fitted with a short red pleated skirt. A red bow sits slightly above the back of the skirt. Her collar is in the style of a marine sailor's - solid red with three white stripes around the edges. In the middle of the bust is a giant purple bow with a giant red brooch placed in the center. Her white gloves extend to her elbows, with red finish. She wears short red pumps on her feet and to finish off the outfit, a red choker and matching red five point star earrings.

In a variation of her form, Super Sailor Mars, the back bow is more prominent with ribbons casting off. Her choker has a gold star in the middle. This changes with Eternal Sailor Mars, which minus the wings, is very similar to Eternal Sailor Moon. Mars no longer has red pumps, but instead knee high white boots with a red V border at the top. Her back bow is lighter with the ribbon tails longer and more narrow, and her gloves go up to her forearms. The skirt is two shades of red layered on top of each other and has a two toned red belt around her waist.

Powers:
Akuryo Taisan - This was an attack Rei knew before becoming a Senshi. She calls out "Akuryo Taisan!" and places an ofuda on the enemy. On occasion she will chant the name of the kuji (Rin, Pyou, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen!) before placing the ofuda.
Fire Soul - Using the first kuji gesture (putting her hands together while pointing her index fingers outwards) a fireball would form at the tip of the index fingers, which she would shoot at the enemy.
Fire Soul Bird - An upgrade to the previous attack, Fire Soul, Mars would use the same gesture, except the fire would shoot out in the shape of a bird, woudning the enemy.
Burning Mandala - Moving her hands in a circular motion she created a celestial fire surround, which then turned into eight separate rings before flying towards the enemy.
Mars Flame Sniper - Mars summons a fiery bow and arrow, using it to shoot her enemy target.

Weapons or Magical Items:
Ofuda - Sold in Shinto shrines or temples these charms, wards, or scriptures are said to bring good luck. Sailor Mars uses them in several of her attacks and they read "Akuryo Taisan" which means "Evil Spirit, Disperse".
Communicator - This small device lets her communicate with the other Senshi when needed.
Star Power Stick - Used to transform during "Mars Star Power, Make Up".
Crystal Change Rod - Used to transform into her Super form.

The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze in the air. The breeze was strong to move any stray objects around that might be laying on the ground. Rei stood with one hand on her hip, and the other on her broom, just watching as the wind drove the brown leaves every which way. It was hopeless to try to sweep the main temple entrance; every pile she made was interrupted by another gust of wind blowing them to where they had been before.

Giving nature a moment to calm herself down, Rei was finally able to get back to her chores. That was, until another whirlwind came and interrupted the steady flow. The only difference was this natural disaster had a name: Usagi.
