With time restarted in Silver Millennium, human evolution changed. Given greater
knowledge than they had possessed before, they came to build a civilization that
given enough time might have emulated Silver Millennium. Magic was well hidden
after Queen Serenity's death, but when it did show itself, humans reacted as
they always had - with fear and prejudice. They killed anyone they suspected of
having abilities greater than their own, destroyed entire areas of the world,
and built institutions whose soul purpose was to keep magic hidden. And they
were successful, very. So successful that by the time the human year 2012AD
came, not even the institutions themselves believed in magic wholly.

But a rather clever professor did.
