This couple is one of the main reasons why I have never cared for Shitennou/Senshi couples xD They were so adorable in the anime :3 I don't have any pictures to share at the moment, sadly, but I am enjoying this thread nonetheless!

What was everyone's reaction when they first found out Zoisite was a man in the original?

I just kind of guessed it all along no big shocker really.

did not see much of sailor moon as a kid. so when i started re watching i only remembered a few things. so i didn't have the grew up knowing zoisite was a chick. so there is no reaction for me.

When I found out Zoisite was a man, I was like "Nuh-unh!" I didn't get why they did that. I had been watching Sailor Moon since I was about five and was blissfully unaware of how badly the show was censored until about 6th grade. In fact, since I haven't watched the first season in over a decade, I still forget she is really a he; even when I read the manga (sigh)

I know right! I grew up with Zoisite being a woman lol. When I rewatched the first season sub I was like OMG ZOISITES A MAN WTF!!! It was really hard to for me to adapt because it was such a change >.< I wasn't even aware of how badly they butchered Sailor Moon until I started watching it again as a Sub. The first anime I became aware of how much they changed in the Dub was Card Captor Sakura.

They're a cute couple! I wish they had been a couple in all versions. And yes, I had a time when I learnt Zoi was a man. I remember looking back at the physique and feeling silly for not knowing he was a man. It didn't bother me for them to be a couple, though. I was pretty well adjusted to homosexuality by then.

Here is a picture I very recently saw on Tumblr. It's not just Zoisite and Kunzite, it's all of the Shitennou, but it has a subtle thing that I really love



I love how Zoisite is spending half of his time enjoying the attentions of Kunzite, and spending the other half (what looks like) arguing with Nephrite. Possibly both Nephrite and Jadeite? Someone needs to translate this hehe :3

I so hope the new anime has this couple (though it's probably unlikely). But even if they hinted at it, or made a reference to it, I would probably be happy

i was shocked when i learned zoicite was a guy. not because of the relationship(growing up in a family with lots of homossexuals makes you not see the difference between ManxMan, WomanxWoman, ManxWoman), but because they changed the character. But I learned that when I was 9 years old or so. I started watching Sailor Moon when I was 8, so...

Even thought some people said they are "only friends" in the manga, I still like to believe they are still in a relationship. (Naoko-sensei wrote it in her own material collection.)
:B Have you seen the way Kunzite hold Zoi when they were having their "Hey this Dinnersuit Hiddenface guy made the humans all "omgbbqwtf" about the silver crystal. Let's take the better of it and suck LOTSAENAJJYEOUTTADEM" talk? I would personally never hold my closest friend like that unless we were in a relationship.

maybe they are complaining how kunzite has no shirt... XD I'll post this on SMF and see if anyone knows what it says

i always have to post this when people say they are only friends. and i also have to point out how touching is more resviered in japan.

Is that me or is Kunzite somewhat.... Waaay larger than usual on this pic? :'D The drawing is great, but I think the drrawer somehow exagerated Kunzite's .... wideness? :'D

I somehow prefer this pairing over Shintennoh / Senshi pairings. Feels more natural.
and Zoicite doesn't looks very "manly", even in the manga :'D Naoko should have explored more their relationship in the manga, thought she said herself she liked the idea of Senshi / Shintennoh. Venus / Kunzite is the only one that is cannon to the manga so far.
