Many fans that I've spoken to tend to dismiss Yuichiro, since he is just an anime character. But I thought that he was actually a great addition to the storyline. He provided loads of comic relief and he was just so noble!

I really love him and Rei together. I thought that their little moments together were adorable and that there was a good contrast between both of them that made them really click together.

Also that moment when Rei dies at the end of Season 1 and she says that she should have kissed Yuichiro. That makes me tear up every single time. Plus, it really means that she thought highly of him for her to think about him in her last breath.

Any other lovers of Reiyuichi?

I totally support them! I was kinda disappointed that they never progressed in the anime because every so often the writers would create an episode dedicated to them and hinted at a possible romance! Then they just dropped the idea without a second thought. :/ So cruel.

It was cruel. T-T I thought their interactions were so cute! My favorite episode is when he thinks Haruka is a boy and Rei is crushing on "him."

Thats my favorite too! I really loved how cute he was, jealous and all.

I really do agree, XD. The pair of them were really adorable when the episode writers gave them a chance, but then it was once again dropped. Imagine if they had actually spend some background time developing the relationship? (Or, like Ami and Ryou in the first season, too? That was short lived, but adorable pairing that I still ship.)

I loved them even back when I was still watching the dubs and I think that there could've been some great potential for the pairing. That it didn't happen and they just kinda fizzled out was, IMO, a huge missed opportunity.

Yes I think that's what disappointed me the most. All the characters we grew to love were cut out of the anime by the time Stars came.

I know. I missed seeing Naru and Rei's grandpa in Stars.

ME TOO! I really loved Naru and Grandpa Hino!

I love Yuichiro and Rei as a couple and they are one of my favorite couples in the Sailor Moon series too. It's too bad that Yuichiro is not a canon character in the Manga and Sailor Moon Crystal, but he will always be canon in the 90s Anime. In my honest opinion Yuichiro is actually the perfect guy for Rei because he cares about her a lot and that he would do anything to protect her too while trying to make her happy at the same time.

They definitely are adorable, and it's a bit of a shame they didn't get a bit more interaction.  I do like that they at least remembered him during S when he got to have a bit of a role, and he was mentioned as late as Super S.  But, as mentioned, quite a few characters kind of disappeared during Stars, and he was one of them.
