As some of you may know, I am currently working on an english fandub of Sailor Moon. I would like to know everyone's opinion on names. Please pick the type of names you would want to see if Sailor Moon were redubbed. The poll is above

Voted! When it comes down to it, I think if you end up going with the Japanese names, you'll probably have a hard time with the nicknames like "Mamo-chan" unless you decided to include the honorifics in the fandub ^^

The hardest names to pronounce are Usagi and Mamoru in my opinion. Especially Usagi. You have no idea how many times I have listened to voice acting auditions that say Usagi wrong. Mamoru has been pronounced a number of ways as well. If I decide to go with japanese names then I will probably have to make a video on how to pronounce them

Actually, I'll agree with that as well since I have also come acrossed this as well - lol. Right now, I'm hunting for auditioners for the male roles and haven't many people that proncouned Mamoru correctly. I'm actually in the process now of recording on how to pronouce the names and certain attacks as well for reference.

To be honest, i think in some cases it might be because people aren't familiar with them cause I know i have no trouble at all trying to pronounce them. I watch the japanese version all the time so I suppose I am used to it

Really Usagi is hard to pronounce? I always thought Makoto was a hard name to pronounce.

Really Usagi is hard to pronounce? I always thought Makoto was a hard name to pronounce.

That's another one! But it should be easy. I don't understand. I'm not bashing anyone btw. Lol I understand they might be hard to pronounce.

Not bashing here either ^^; - I also understand that foreign names can sometimes be difficult to pronounce ^^
