I just got the game today after seeing a few videos of people playing it and hearing that a fellow EarthBound fan created the game and I have to say it's a lot of fun. It takes a different take on JRPGs like you don't have to kill any enemies to win the battle and you dodge attacks Shmup-style. I'll be trying a pacifist run first before I take the Neutral route.

So far I've got the say that Papyrus and Sans are my favorite characters!

In between being sick, this game has consumed my soul. I wish I could talk so much more about it, but that would be spoilers galore and the story is just chock full of round characters and twists and turns and omg I have gotten the two main endings and the plot really does get rounder if you get the bad ending and just wow I haven't cried over a game like this in years.

Long story short, if someone want's to freak out with undertale with me as long as they know I know all the things feel free.

Also the skelebros are my babies. I love them.

Finished two neutral playthoughs and one True Pacifist and I must stay it is one of the best games I have played in a while! Not sure if I have the heart to do a No Mercy/Genocide run though...

I know I didn't. I just watched a youtube playthrough. It's quite painful to watch.

I want to play this game, mostly brcuase it's EXPLODED on the Internet and I don't wanna be left in the dust. Also I can't say I've really played a traditional RPG. What route do you guhs recommend taking? Pacifist sounds interesting.

Go for a pacifist or neutral ending. The bad ending fills out an entire extra part of the story, and would leave you confused as heck if you haven't gotten another ending prior to that.

I'm currently watching CohhCarnage (Twitch Streamer) do a playthrough of it over a couple of days and I will eventually buy it and play it myself xD I already know most of the plot without actually seeing it for myself xD Mainly from Tumblr xD

I had the game gimmick spoiled for me, so I'm finding it really unenjoyable as a result.

I bought this game on Steam as a gift for my boyfriend in the last christmas... And it was the best thing I did in a long time XD

First we did a Neutral Route and then we headed for the True Pacifist one. Gosh, I can't even describe all the surprises and feels we had all the way to the end, it was fantastic, and still is. He started again, since he lost his save file, and decided to try a Genocide Route... But he gave up when failed to kill Undyne. This time I'm in control (and I'm so bad at dodging attacks, oh man) and making a pacifist run again. We just fell in love with Undertale's universe. It met all our standards, no doubt about it XD

Oh in case anyone wants to pick it up right now, its on sale on Steam! $7.99 instead of $9.99. Its already a cheap game, but hey its $2 saved right? XD

Hi yes I am here to casually revive this thread since I'm lowkey obsessed with this game right now. 

I started playing Undertale... Friday? Yeah, that sound about right. Anyway, I'm really enjoying this game so far. I'm in Waterfall, but I keep dying against Undyne (but I get a little farther each time!). I'm going for a Neutral-Pacifist run, that is, I don't kill anyone and befriend two of the plot important characters so I get a good ending, but i don't befriend the character that sends me towards the True Pacifist/best ending. I'm mostly doing this because I want to fight the Neutral Run's final boss (not saying who it is because spoilers). 

So yeah, that's me right now.

Oh, if you're worried about not fighting the Neutral Boss, don't worry. You can't get the best ending the first time around anyway, the first run is always neutral as long as you aren't going out of your way to kill everything XD.

^I think I read somewhere that that was the case. Wasn't quite sure though, the wording was bit weird where I read it.
The only problem I think I have with Undertale is the lack of multiple save files. I know that actually ties into some plot stuff, but it's still annoying to me because my brother eventually wants to do a Genocide Run and well... you know how THAT ends up. I think there's ways to stop the Genocide Run's effects but I  don't really want to mess around with files too much.

XD Yeah, if you're playing on Steam, there's a way to edit the data and then play in offline mode to reset your game completely after a genocide run. If you ever decide to do that, post here and I'll find a way to delete it for you after. It usually involves deleting the stored temporary files and then re-downloading the game though. There's a lot of guides out there. ^^

With Undyne, all you need to do is last long enough to flee the battle, run some more, if she catches you-rinse and repeat.

And the final boss for the neutral run shows up in the pacifist ending as well, in case you were worried about that. You can totally go for a pacifist run if you want to tackle that boss.

And Papyrus is my son and I would date him every day if I could. 

I loved the Papyrus date! He's so precious.

Eh, I've heard about it, but I have no interest in playing it. It doesn't look to be my cup of tea. But everybody else I know absolutely worships this game.

Deltarune is fantastic; but seeing as it's only one part of a whole game, it leaves a lot more questions then answers. It was little Lancer that ended up being my favorite; with Ralsei as a quick second. They're such good kids!
