These are all pretty good ideas, Sports! (I think you could do a gif or meme contest by having people either submit gifs or memes that fit a theme and letting everyone vote for the best one. We'd just want to be super clear about the PG-13 rules.) Are there any you're more interested in?

I think I'll do a flash game a week, but this time either just a participation bumper or only have a first place sig due to low participation in other games the past few events. What do you think?

So.....quick question? The post said to keep things open to all holidays of the season, regardless of religion, but then is also said one of the suggestions was a Christmas game?

Either of these can be fun! I think we've had a few dress-up games with themes like "fancy holiday party" or "snowball fight". Hiding goodies is a bit trickier—it's possible, but you'd likely need help and approval from Admin or it would be very easy for people to look at your post history and guess where the goodies are.

If you're referring the "Twelve Days of Christmas" writing prompt suggestion, that's not necessarily to be taken literally. The song is fairly widely known because of the counting element, and it's actually fairly secular in theme. It's on the list as possible inspiration—as an actual event, it would not be called "Twelve Days of Christmas", probably more likely to be "# Days of Festibration" and offer writing prompts accordingly.

Are you offering to host an artist contest or offering it as something someone else could run? ^_^

As for a thread explaining all the holidays, we could certainly have a "winter holiday" sharing thread if someone was interested in running it. I think it may involve quite a bit of writing to get it started. I'm not personally able to commit to doing the research to write up an exhaustive list, but if anyone wants to do so they are welcome. We've done threads in the past where people shared their traditions and other cultural elements; that could also be fun to see again.

The goal is to avoid anyone feeling excluded. We haven't had a ton of interest from hosts or participants to share ideas that aren't vaguely Christmas themed, but if someone wanted to organize an "Eight Crazy Nights" game based on their Hanukkah tradition or something similar, as long as it doesn't mention specific religious beliefs I'll probably allow it.

For example, we often let there be a "Christmas cake" decorating contest, because "Christmas cake" is a Japanese cultural phenomenon. It's only "Christmas" in name—it's actually a strawberry shortcake—but "Christmas cake" has a specific meaning for Japan where "holiday cake" does not. Most of the time, it's possible to add enough of a twist that we can use "Festibration", "winter", "holiday", "solstice", or some other term, and that's what I'd encourage from everyone.

The Bingo thread is done! I just need to request the graphics.

A small bit of an update. I may not be able to post as many threads/games this year as I'd like, depending on how the situation at home goes-It's still too early to tell. I'm still going to participate and create, though!

Would it still be possible to make a festibration event thread for the Video Game Club? Sports and I want to do a Smash Bros Ultimate party on the release date December 7th, but we didn't come up with the idea until just now. I'm busy this weekend with work, but I could have a thread figured out by Wednesday.

@Cosmos-Hime I'm so sorry that I missed so many of your messages. I apologize. Hangman would have been fine, but I understand that you are busy.

If anyone has a last-minute idea and wants to get another event together and post it in the Approval thread today, I'll still accept it. I was gone for several weeks, so I'm sure that interrupted planning ideas. I do apologize for it.
