Plot Summary: As a roleplayer, I could really use some practice in developing my otakus and staying true to their personalities as I roleplay them. I have found that I have a tendency to roleplay in terms of what I would do instead of what my character would do, and that, of course, is a problem. It's a lot harder to play an otaku character rather than a canon character, because with otakus, we don't really get to see their personality played out in movies, shows, books, etc.

So, I had an idea of creating a roleplay (or series of roleplays) that are focused solely on character development of otakus. I had a couple ideas as to how I would do this:

Option A: One roleplay that plays out a lot like the movie Scooby Doo in Cyber Space. If you haven't seen that movie, basically Mystery Inc. gets sucked into a video game, and they travel through different worlds/scenarios throughout the movie, ranging from outer space to an ancient Greek chariot race. If I go with this idea, the roleplay will involve all characters being in a similar scenario - they get transported through different worlds/scenarios, and the way to escape each scenario would be to accomplish some sort of goal.

For example:

This is just a small-scale example of how the roleplay would go, but ultimately the goal of each "scenario" would be to flesh out a certain quality or characteristic of your otaku (how to they conquer their fears? how do they handle challenges? are they capable of leading efficiently? how do they handle death? what are their wishes and dreams? etc.)

Option B: Several small, separate roleplays, hopefully lasting about a month each. These roleplays will focus on one scenario, in which the character qualities, characteristics, personalities, etc. can be fleshed out throughout each scenario. As long as we have at least two roleplayers for each 'chapter', this series of roleplays can go on for as long as possible.
