Appearance: Asteria is somewhat on the taller side for a woman, standing at 175 cm (5 ft. 9 in.) tall, her weight average for her build. She has turquoise-colored eyes and dark blue hair, a tad longer than shoulder-length, which she usually keeps up in a ponytail. Her skin is quite pale - after all, she's much more into stargazing than sunbathing. Prolonged exposure to the sun would most likely cause it to redden rather than tan.

She has a tendency to dress in darker colors, but her wardrobe does include its fair share of brighter ones as well. However, whether she chooses bright or dark, what is certain is that she will play it safe. Her clothes are rather conservative and monochromatic - she will not spend much effort to mix and match and come up with the most impressive attire or follow the latest fashion. A plain shirt and jeans, for example, will do the job just fine. She will not wear skirts or dresses unless there is a special occasion, and typically avoids shoes with heels.

Personality: Asteria is generally a calm and collected individual. She is not particularly shy and can easily engage in conversation or talk to people she does not know as needed or as she pleases, however she will not go out of her way to make new acquaintances or chit-chat just for the sake of doing so. In her book, there's no such thing as awkward silence - only people who make it awkward. Her perspective could make her appear as rather distant or aloof to those that do not know her well, but she is well aware of that and does not really mind. Either they will connect and they will eventually get to know her better, or they won't, in which case who cares what they think?

She is very honest, or rather brutally honest at times. If someone asks for her opinion, they better be prepared to hear said opinion. Don't go asking her if you look like you have gained weight if you cannot handle an affirmative response! She does not care much for social etiquette and will not hesitate to speak her mind - if prompted, at least. However, she will avoid to unnecessarily provoke, plus she can and will lie or dance around the pure truth if it is evidently strategically better to do so. If it makes no difference to her, then she will fire away.

Rather than an optimistic or pessimistic individual, perhaps she would be best described as a realist. The glass is neither half empty nor half full. Or maybe it's both. In any case, it simply contains water in 50% of its capacity. She sees things for what they seem to be, she will rely on facts and will try to avoid making assumptions about any person or situation.

She is quite intelligent, and always did well with sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry - though it was always astronomy that fascinated her the most. She is a quick and strategic thinker, guided by the brain and not by the heart. She will react to a given situation with a clear mind and will refuse to allow her emotions to get the best of her, as much as she is able. She can be stubborn at times - if she has decided that her method is better, it will be extremely hard to convince her otherwise. Teaming up with the Muse senshi has alleviated that to a degree, though, and she has come to appreciate teamwork quite more. Even if being told what to do still makes her twitch.

• She can name practically all planets and constellations visible in the night sky. When transformed, their light appears amplified to her and she can discern even those with the faintest glow.
  
• She has mild psychic abilities connected to observation of the stars and their arrangement. It mostly takes the form of vague premonitions or visions.
  

History: Asteria grew up in a fairly average household, living with her two loving parents and her younger brother, Orion. Her father was a famed astronomer of her planet, having led to several breakthroughs in his study of space. He worked at the national observatory and frequently appeared as a guest lecturer in universities. Asteria was always fascinated by his work and was determined to do her best in order to carry on his legacy one day. As a child, she would constantly beg him to take her to the observatory with him, and flood him with questions about space and the stars. Of course, he was more than happy to indulge his daughter's curiosity. Once she turned 18, she secured an apprenticeship at the observatory parallel to her studies and continued to expand her knowledge. She graduated from university with a major in astronomy and minor in physics.

One fateful night, while she was gazing upon the stars as she loved to do, she noticed a peculiar streak of light that headed straight for the planet's surface - or so it seemed. Most dismissed it as a run-of-the-mill shooting star, but she had observed enough of those to know that this was something different. The trajectory of a shooting star is typically not so obvious to the naked eye for that long and would have faded away much sooner, before it gave off the illusion of impact.

She decided to investigate the area where the unknown object appeared to have fallen. She considered turning back as she had walked for about an hour and did not notice anything out of the ordinary, but something inside her urged her to press on. She had to find the source of that light, and soon thereafter, find it she did. She saw a woman, dressed in white and gold, fighting some creatures that appeared to have been made out of pure shadow. A Sailor Senshi, she readily determined - she had not met one of those herself, but she knew enough about them to recognize one.

Even though the woman seemed to fare well enough on her own, Asteria's instinct was to help, to protect that light. At that moment, something stirred from within her core, her unknown to her Sailor Crystal resonating with the one of Sailor Cosmos, forcing her to transform wordlessly for that first time, on its own accord. Words in Latin filled her head and she glanced up in the sky. Her sight fell upon a familiar constellation and the words became clear as she called her attack out and unleashed her signature arrow, piercing through one of the shadowy enemies.

Still rather confused over her sudden transformation, she turned to Cosmos for an explanation. She shared her story about the fight between good and evil, the chaos that constantly seeks power and threatens to destroy civilizations in its quest. Almost impulsively, she decided to ask Cosmos to join her in her mission. If such threat already made its way to her planet, then there was no time to lose. For whatever reason, she had the power to protect it and those she loved, so she felt it a duty to accept it as her mission. And she could probably learn and adapt to the situation much faster with an experienced fighter than by herself.

And who knows? Perhaps she might get to learn more about the stars that she had grown to love as she traveled closer to them than she had ever imagined possible. She would make her father proud, for sure.

Relationships

Cosmos - She has to admit that she does feel something special about Cosmos, as if she's a person that she is just meant to protect for some reason or the other. Then again, it's always felt as if the other way around is what happens in the end? Cosmos is a mysterious person, and Urania has almost taken it as a personal challenge to work through this puzzle and figure her out.

Sailor Calliope - Calliope can be... a little difficult to communicate with? She speaks in a peculiar dialect, and as much as Urania has attempted to make her dial it down a bit, it seems that any such attempts have gone right over her head. But for one thing, she admires how passionate she can be about what truly interests her. Among the other girls, she feels that she's the one she can discuss strategy with the most, along with Clio and possibly Melpomene. But a translator would have been lovely to have.

Sailor Clio - Her go-to person for strategy talk. When everyone around them was into dancing, or singing, or reciting, she felt like it was up to her and Clio to bring them back into order if the circumstances called for that. She felt a connection to that girl - with most of the Muse Senshi seemingly having an aptitude for some kind of performance, she often felt as the odd one out, but maybe just a little less around Clio. Losing her had struck her quite a lot.

Sailor Erato - Urania did not like Erato at first. She seemed a rather vain and conceited individual - how was a person like her blessed with such powers was beyond her. But the more time she spent - or was forced to spend, at first - with that girl made Urania warm up to her more and see that behind her overconfident flirtatious persona, she is genuinely kindhearted and truly cares for everyone. Sure she may spend more time on her appearance than Urania would deem appropriate... but hey, she has to admit that she does it right.

Sailor Euterpe - She appreciates Euterpe, and she understands that she seems to be particularly close to Thalia, which makes sense given that she is sharing many similarities with her, and she also kind of... hates it? If she had to be honest, she does harbor some jealousy towards that girl who seems to connect with just about everyone with ease. And of course she would connect with her. She's most likely a better suit for her either way. But such feelings are sealed deep within, usually dismissed by her prevalent logical part, except in moments of self-doubt. Anyway, her relationship with Thalia has made her open up to Euterpe's humor as well, but she knows that it's dangerous to encourage it or there will be no end to it. She kinda has to keep them in place.

Sailor Melpomene - Urania likes what Melpomene has to bring to the group. While she does believe that sometimes her outlook is a little too bleak, there are also times that she sees eye to eye with her, and her perspective is needed to put some gravity in a dire situation. She feels like she can work with her well - even though she seems to act more by emotions, which is pretty much the opposite of Urania, she feels that together they can identify a more holistic approach. Perhaps pure cold logic isn't always the ideal path.

Sailor Polyhymnia - Polyhymnia sure had a way with words, and Urania always felt she was the one who could make the group just listen for one moment and actually understand, much more efficiently than she would. She rather enjoyed her singing as it felt soothing.

Sailor Terpsichore - Terpsichore was cheerful, if anything. She had not really connected any more or less with her than others, but it definitely felt like something was missing from the team with this cheerful disposition gone, even if there were some others that still made up for it.

Sailor Thalia - Thalia is... special to her. Despite their rather contrasting personalities, she had always taken an interest in her and her unique perspectives, amazed at how she could find something positive about practically everything and everyone. When she's with her, the world just seems like a happier place to live. She's the one who has made Urania loosen up with the rest of the team and realize that there can and is more to this whole thing than just battling along for a common cause. One thing is certain - she will go to any lengths to protect her, and her powers may or may not flare up a tad if she's hurt. Maybe it's a coincidence.

Other Noteworthy Facts:

• She is a very good chess player, and has even won a couple local tournaments.
  
• She always rolls her eyes at Thalia's jokes and/or puns, but she secretly likes them. Not that she will ever admit it.
  
• Despite her basic attack, she is not actually particularly good at archery. She has tried it, and she is not terrible, but that's about it. Her arrow is guided mostly by magic rather than an archer's aim and precision.

• Sagitta Impetum (lit. 'Arrow Attack'). Sailor Urania extends her left arm forward and draws her right one close to her face, her stance resembling an archer aiming with a bow and arrow. As she calls the first part of her attack, the respective stars of the Sagitta constellation are projected between her two hands. The stars begin to connect with one another with bright lines and eventually form an arrow made of light. As she finally calls out 'Impetum', she lets go of the arrow, shooting it towards her intended target. It can damage both by physical impact and by energy (light). Single-target attack.
  
  
• Sagitta Imber (lit. 'Arrow Rain/Shower'). An upgraded version of Sagitta Impetum. Sailor Urania initiates the attack in the same manner, but as she calls out 'Imber', she aims the materialized arrow slightly upwards and releases it. It travels above a group of enemies and shoots down star-shaped energy projectiles in its path which harm the targets. Multi-target attack.
  
  
• Scutum Luminis (lit. 'Shield of Light'). Sailor Urania extends her right arm forward as she calls out the first part of the attack, and the stars of the Scutum constellation are projected in front of her and begin to connect with one another. Eventually, they create the shape of a shield, which fully materializes as she calls out 'Luminis'. It acts as an energy shield, able to block or lessen the impact from physical and magical attacks.
  
  
• Libra Aequitas (lit. 'Libra Equity/Fairness'). Sailor Urania stretches out her arms in a 180-degree angle, her palms facing upwards. As she calls out the first part of the attack, the respective stars of the Libra constellation are projected above her and subsequently connect with one another to form an actual libra. Its two scales go up and down, until she calls out 'Aequitas', which causes them to balance with each other and emit light that engulfs the battlefield for a few seconds. The attack neutralizes all magic effects in the area, positive and negative (e.g. haste, power up, poison, enchantment), from friends and foes alike.
  
  
• Zodiac's Fury - Another upgraded version of Sagitta Impetum and Urania's ultimate attack. Twelve arrows materialize in a circle around Urania, the sign of each of the twelve zodiacs briefly flashing above each one before fading away. The arrows then begin to shoot themselves one by one, in clockwise fashion and starting from the one at the top, towards the intended target. The attack manifests as a result of turbulent emotions and is controlled purely by the brain, requiring no attack name to be called out or any physical movement.
  

General note: Through years of experience, she has succeeded in accessing her abilities without the need to shout out their names. However, she still prefers to do so as it seems to boost her focus. She generally avoids it if there is need for a sneak attack, or when she's more emotional.

Weapons or Magical Items: Urania's Mirror. Despite its name, it's actually a small transparent crystal orb, a tad smaller than a volley ball, with a light arrow in its center, which can rotate in any direction. It serves as a compass - the arrow will point towards any planet, star or constellation on which Sailor Urania attempts to concentrate. As such, she is not very likely to get lost in space. By default, the arrow points towards the constellation that powers her basic attack, Sagitta.

RP Sample: Asteria let out a deep sigh as she walked through the dimly illuminated park. She sat down on a small bench and gazed upon the bright stars, as it so often helped her focus. It helped her think. And that was exactly what she needed, right now.

Usually she had a lot more confidence in her plans and decisions. Which was not the case, on this rare occasion, and for good reason of course. She thought, and she considered, and she played out the different scenarios and outcomes in her head... But she could not make up her mind. Or maybe she didn't really want to.

She wondered for a brief moment, what would she think about this? But she smiled, dismissing the thought just as it came. Who was she trying to fool? She knew perfectly well what she would have to say. But she just didn't get it! How could she make her get it? That was part of her charm, after all - her constantly positive outlook, even in the bleakest of situations. An everlasting source of hope.

Well... she was not the same. And if she could tell that her hope was misplaced this once... Then she could not just turn a blind eye. Logic should prevail. Hope alone was not enough. Their actions should be supported by the facts, and those facts... They made the answer clear, no?

Ha. She scoffed at herself. How silly. In the end, maybe it was not a matter of second-guessing at all. Perhaps she only needed to come to terms with the choice she had already made. She looked up at the night sky again, pointing her finger to the constellation that shared its name with her younger brother, smiling as the memories flooded her. 'Sis! Did you know?' the little boy pointed to the sky excitedly. 'There's a bunch of stars up there that were named after me! How cool is that??'

"That's right," she said out loud, steeling her resolve. "For him. And for her too. I'll protect them both, no matter what it takes."

So I'm going to say I'm done? Not sure if I may have to add anything minor that we end up deciding (such as relations among the team), but I'd rather get started if something significant is missing or should be elaborated further since my vacation is ending soon booooo
