So...yeah, after the failure of Voltron Force, DreamWorks bought the rights to it, and the people who worked on the Avatar and Korra series decided to make an entirely new series. Thus, Voltron: Legendary Defender was born, and let me say this...it is freaking awesome! And this is coming from someone who normally hates mecha shows, anime or otherwise!

I'm not kidding. The characters are all endearing, the story is mature and doesn't insult the audience's intelligence, the characters have been redesigned and given new personalities, the CGI actually doesn't look clunky, the battles are great, and it's...just go watch it! Now, just so you know, there's only 11 or so episodes out, and on Netflix, with more planned to be released later this year, and the first part ends with...a pretty massive cliffhanger. But guys, do yourselves a favor and watch it. It's amazing.

Also, thanks to this show my love for mecha was born, I used to watch the old version when I was  kid, don't remember ANYTHING xD about the old show but I did remembered Paige's character (not sure if has the same name) also, not sure if the version I watched was the Japanese version when I was a kid o.o.

I've heard nothing but good things about this version on tumblr, and I actually want to watch it-after I watch the original, of course. How many episodes in are they, and how many more are expected? Is/was there a manga of voltron at any point in time?

Voltron is only one season long right now, with all eleven episodes up online and on netflix. Season two is either later this year or sometime next year, I think. And this series doesn't require any prior reading or watching to understand, I never even watched the originals and I liked it.

Great news! It's confirmed that the second season will premiere on January 20th, 2017.

I just got into this show today and I just finished binge watching all 11 episodes and OMG! I seriously cannot wait for season 2 to see how this continues. No wonder its amazing, since the people who worked on Korra and ATLA are working on this as well.

Season two is out, and season three is coming out in August of this year! I forget the exact date, though.

I love everyone myself, but I like Pidge the best. I think she's just a well-written character all around. And yes, season three comes out on August 4th.

Season 6 comes out on March 2nd!
